movie and books

Posted by on February 27, 2005  |  No Comments

…movie : Hide and Seek…
I went out with Sids, Andre & Pam today and we went to watch “Hide and Seek” starring Dakota Fanning & Robert de Niro Nero (sp?). Its a physological thriller. Synopsis:
“Hide and Seek” revolves around a widower (Robert DeNiro) and his daughter (Dakota Fanning). They move upstate and Emily (Fanning) soon creates an imaginary friend named Charlie…but this act takes an unexpected and terrifying turn, where her father and doctor (Famke Janssen) start to worry about Emily’s gruesome habits.

My verdict : good movie but a lil slow in hte beginning. the ending was unpredictable. lots of suspense and puzzlenment. :D

…books…
I was at Subang Parade today and passed by a sign reading RM8 for 3. For books that is…ended up buying 5 books for RM30….one is john grisham – runaway jury..and the other is barbara bradford – three weeks in paris in hardcover. the other 3 are juz random paperbacks.

yay! so happy to hv found a place to buy cheap books :D

Classes classes…and also getting locked out

Posted by on February 22, 2005  |  No Comments

I’ve started my sem and its pretty tiring to get up early in the morning (well, 8.30 am is very early for me). Its not actually the time I have to get up, but the time spent travelling there. So far my mom’s been sending me to and fro to Cyberjaya but starting next month i’ll be taking the bus which leaves at Kelana Jaya at 8am and noon to CJ & leaves CJ at 3pm, 6pm & 7.30 pm back. As most of my classes start as 10 am and finish at 6 pm, I’d have to take the 8am bus there and the 7.30 pm bus back *cries*

…locked out…

after my mom picked me up from uni a few days ago (i think it was Monday) we picked my 2 sisters up and went to One U. My mom and my middle sis went down from the car to buy somethings and i followed soon after, leaving my youngest sis in the car. Bout half an hour later, we went back to the car and she was sleeping soundly with the radio on at full blast. We tried calling her hp (yes she has a hp at the tender age of 13), tried shaking the car, screaming, knocking the windows, ect ect. And still no response. We knew she was still alive because we could see her breathing. My mom kinda paniked and called my dad (who was waiting for us in Ikano) and he smgt walked down to 1U, partly coz my mom really sounded like she was about to get hysterical.

And what did i do? Well, to tell you the truth, Gladys (my middle sis) and I found the whole situation really funny and couldn’t stop laughing. So much so that my mom got so pissed off at us. Hehehe

My mother taught me

Posted by on February 19, 2005  |  2 Comments

You scored as Winter. You are WINTER. You’re more introspective, thinking deeply, feeling deeply. You love nothing better than to enjoy one on one time with those who are important to you. You are cautious, and sometimes second guess yourself. Dreams, though you have them, are a luxury, because life is not a plaything.

Re-enrollment day at Uni

Posted by on February 17, 2005  |  No Comments

was supposed to go to collage at 10 am, mom woke me up at 9.30 but i promptly went back to sleep. LOL!

…memories of past haunts…

I had a kind of weird dream after I went back to sleep.

Firstly I was outside this house in a field and it was early morning. The house was white and kind of raised up, it had a porch encircling the house. Really reminds me of those ranches we see in some western movies. That house belonged to one of my best friends, a Malaysian-born-American who went back to the US about a year ago.

I was riding a bicycle with her and her family, just enjoying the morning breeze and the sun rising up when I realize it was getting near to the afternoon and I was supposed to go to collage.

{Scene changed}
Next thing i knew was that i was walking towards my hostel which was actually the Curtin hostel and i saw most of my flat mates and entered my room. My room was messy (as usual) and it looked like i was half packed coz i saw my dark green suitcase opened and lots of clothes and stuff on the floor. Then i suddenly woke up

…management matters…

Went to uni around 1 pm and met Erin, went to register and get my timetable and pay my school fees. Only left at 5pm.

I have a lot of business subjects this semester *cries* because i need it for basics. Im taking economics, accounting, management & law. Mostly reading subjects…and im bad at reading subjects. Not only that, the average time my classes starts are 10 am (but the bus leaves my area at 8am) and all finish at 6pm (but the next bus is at 7.30 pm)…meaning by the time i get back it’ll be 8.30pm or so *wails*.

The only good thing is that Im also taking Web Developing so im looking forward to that.

Classes starts on Monday. *sigh* Im now officially in the last sem of my foundation before continuing towards my Software Programming with Multimedia Degree

Love me, that’s all I ask of you

…promise me that all you say is true…

Funny how when you stop looking, someone suddenly walks into your life.
Funny how a small thing like an wrongly sent sms can bring two people together
Funny how you feel like you’ve known someone for years even though it has only been a few months.
Funny how something like this can drop straight into my lap.

…Valentine’s Day 2005…

I went out with Erin today to Midvalley to watch Constantine (which was good) and ate dinner at Secret Recipe (I tried out their Spaghetti bolognase – not nice, too much pepper). Midvalley was full of couples, most gals holding flowers, everyone holding hands. Even in the cinema, 99% were couples, u can see their heads melekat together.

The couple next to us bought nuggets..and the smell was so enchanting that erin and I looked at each other and sniffed the air. The funny thing was, both of them burped really LOUDLY a few times through out the movie, even at silent parts so it was really hilarious and i kept laughing a few times.

Keanu Reeves is HOT HOT HOT!! *drools*

So yeah, after that we went home and Erin stayed over.

…All I ask – Phantom of the Opera…

here’s a romantic love song that’s been playing in my head for the past week or so :P

[Raoul]
No more talk of darkness,
Forget these wide-eyed fears.
I’m here, nothing can harm you -
My words will warm and calm you.

Let me be your freedom,
Let daylight dry your tears.
I’m here, with you, beside you,
To guard you and to guide you

[Christine]
Say you love me every waking moment,
Turn my head with talk of summertime
Say you need me with you, now and always
promise me that all you say is true
That’s all I ask of you

Let me be your shelter,
Let me be your light.
You’re safe: No-one will find you
your fears are far behind you . . .

All I want is freedom,
A world with no more night
And you always beside me
To hold me and to hide me

Then say you’ll share with me one love, one lifetime
Let me lead you from your solitude
Say you need me with you here, beside you . . .
Anywhere you go, let me go too -
Christine, that’s all I ask of you

Say you’ll share with me one love, one lifetime
Say the word and I will follow you
Share each day with me, each night, each morning
Say you love me

You know I do . . .

[BOTH]
Love me that’s all I ask of you

Anywhere you go let me go too
Love me that’s all I ask of you . .

…written 8th Feb 2005 evening…

Chinese New Year has always been a time of fun for me. Back when I was living in KK (1997-2003) it has always been a time for friends. CNY Eve would be spend hanging around the annual CNY night market and on the 1 day there would be a church service followed by lunch out with friends and house visiting. First Aaron (the usual driver) would pick me up – while managing to collect an angpau (red packet filled with money, standard amount would be RM2-5) from my parents – then on to pick up other friends (usually either Yappy, Anderson, Karen, Brian, Jeremy).

Then we would begin our rounds of visiting all the youth and nibbling and eating at every house. Its impolite to decline offers of food and drink. Then we’d visit most of the aunties and uncles that we knew, after usually ringing them up to be sure they were home.

It wasn’t really the money that made it enjoyable, but the company of friends, laughing, eating, telling stories and anecdotes. Those were the days.

Despite being a half-Bidayuh, half-Chinese, I’m not fluent in Cantonese (which is the dialect my mom speaks) or Hakka (which is what most ppl in KK speak). I can however pick up the general idea of what people are trying to say. Which is a shame because I should be able to speak my mother’s language.

Anyway, this year, I celebrated CNY at my mom’s hometown – Tg Malim, Perak. We left Damansara ard 4.30 pm then arrive d here in about an hour or so. Saw 2 accidents on the way within 10 KM of each other. Tsk tsk..drivers these days.

Got back, ate a little bit then went promptly to the room to sleep (read : hide & pass time) because there’s nothing to do and no one attempts to speak to us in something other than Cantonese so I might as well take a nap after I type this. Zzzzz
