Batang Magis & TT

Posted by on April 27, 2006  |  4 Comments

Hehe…i was reading G’s blog and was laughing my head off. We were at IKEA yesterday and while we were walking around looking at the stuff (i lurve to go window shopping there and mentally swipe my non-existant Black American Express card) when gladys suddenly said “Batang Magis” and started giggling then she said “the magic stick”.

I was like “…..” – blur for like 5 mins – before I realized that she translated the Song “Candy Shop” by 50cent & Olivia. Then we both started laughing like crazy. Read the whole translation of the song “Candy Shop” at her blog.

Today when i got to uni, i was kinda terkejut to see eL & Nadia busy fussing over a digital camera. Apparently they were trying to take a picture of someone who looks suspiciously like TukangTaip. What do you think? We’re quite sure its not him :P

I dont have classes tomorrow meaning its going to be a 4-day weekend for me this weekend. Yay~! (Not that I have anything interesting planned anyway) planned to go to Genting wif some frens but tak jadi coz of the tanah runtuh. A good friend’s birthday is coming up and not really sure what to get him or what to do? Belanja kat Mosin? :P cukup ke? :P

Have a great weekend ppl~!!!!!

p/s: I think i’ll go stay over at a fren’s place this Sun evening/nite la.

Its all about da moneyy

Posted by on April 24, 2006  |  2 Comments

*cue: The Apprentice theme song – “Money, money, money, money, money!!” *

Lately everyone around me is talking bout money. Oh let me rephrase that, what I meant was, everyone around me is SHORT of money. Allowance getting cut, resigning from new job, not doin well in current job, over spending this month.

I was asked to do this multimedia presentation for this company – explaining company profile, product, plans, etc etc based on this powerpoint presentation. But i have to add in moving pictures, speech and make it “canggih” plus M wants it to be like 20-30 minutes long which in would take a lot of time. Was decided on whether to take it or not.

That question was bugging me for the past week. However, I happen to meet up fren of Azril’s the other day and he happened to be working in MDC as a New Media Designer and he was the person that I could ask all my questions about flash and multimedia stuff – the info and pointers I needed to use to complete my multimedia job. I took this encounter as a sign and told M that I would do it for him, but will bill him later because I wasnt sure of the work load involved yet.

Not only that, Im also applying for this student writer job but i havent sent in my resume – which is due end of this month. (Note to self : write resume)

Poks suggested that I tutor my classmates for a fee (yeah, the same guy who said “why should education be charged?”). Im not really sure how I would go around doin that because :
(1) Im too nice to ask for payment for my help
(2) Due to time constrains Im not sure how to arrange fees and “classes”
(3) People might think that Im kedekut ilmu and wont want to pay me for help

still hv to think about the tutoring option. As of now, im goin to be busy with M’s project and my own assignments and school work. But i might be getting a few extra ringgit end of this month for getting some computer hardware for someone. Anyone else wants to buy computer hardware? :P

here is an assignment I juz did (in Multimedia class) using Photoshop and Filters : motion blur, stained glass, paint bucket, lighting effects & mezzotint

Edit : I took the cat from Kennysia’s blog.

Murphy’s Law

Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. ~ Murphy’s Law [wiki]

On Thursday I found out that i failed my math midterm exam but i kinda expected that oredi so takpe lah. That day, I went so early (at 9am) to uni even tho my class started at 1.30pm wasting time then i had to take the bus back at 6.30pm coz nick went back even tho my class ended at 5pm.

So hung out in the lab kejap…but every computer i used had some problem or another – no internet connection la, keeps restarting la, internet slow – so kinda got fed up eventually and took a nap in the lab..hehe :P At around 6.30pm, i went to wait for the bus at the entrance and as I was walking out of the uni, the bus juz passed me by. It didnt even stop for me!! Pukimak tul~!!. So there I was, stuck in cyberjaya with no transport back, at 6.45pm. AND it was raining…AND i was waiting in the rain for that bus.

At that point i had 3 options :
(1) get my parents to pick me up – petrol (RM10++) & toll (RM4)
but that would be really really late coz it was jammed everywhere plus it would be quite expensive on petrol & toll(2) take a public bus to Pasar Seni (RM4-5) then LRT to KJ (RM2) & taxi home (RM8-9)
but it would take about 2 hours and i had to wait in the rain again. Total cost = RM 15-16

(3) take a taxi to Putrajaya ERL station (RM??) and take ERL to KL Central (RM9) then LRT to KJ (RM2.10) & taxi home (RM 8-9)
but i didnt kno how much the taxi to the ERL station would cost and i only had a few ringgit in my wallet. Total cost = RM 11+??

I called my dad and explained the situation and we settled on option No 3 because it was the fastest and safest way back. And because I wasnt sure if i had enough cash, my dad decided to bank in money to my BCB account because there was an ATM machine in the uni.

However, the ATM machine was not working and so I couldnt withdraw any money. Decided to just risk it by taking option (c) and praying that I had enough cash.

Lucky for me, the taxi ride was only RM11. *heave a big sigh of relief* I actually fell asleep in the taxi coz I was so tired. I never realized that it was actually pretty near. I expected it to be around RM15-20 due to the fact that they are always waiting in front of my uni and maybe they hiked up the prices – to tipu the foreign students and all.

Heh! I remembered the ticket for the ERL is less than RM10 coz there was this other time that i got stranded in the station without a sen on me and I had to call Cik Delinn at 11pm and paksa her out of bed to drive down to the station to pass me RM10 (minta ampun linnnn…). Punya main takut me masa kena stranded tu. Kalo linn tak angkat phone..mmg i dok sana je la sampai morning to call someone to come pick me up before goin to uni.

I met up with my dad and G at the LRT station and my mom picked us up from KJ. Finally reached home around 9.30pm after my long day and tiring “adventure”.As Murphy’s Law states, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong……Screw u Murphy *puts tongue out*

Slippery Senoritas @ Curve

Posted by on April 20, 2006  |  5 Comments

Was sleeping the whole day yesterday. Soo tired out from the last few weeks. Got quite a lot of SMSes actually (sorry eL, lambat reply). Pam came over about 9am (i think) and i groggily opened the door for her to use my PC to do work before goin back to bed..and waking up to open the door for her and continue tido.

Finally woke up at 8pm and Pam sms ajak kuar makan. So we (Pam, Glad, Fan & myself) decided to go down to Hartamas Square – i missed the pasta there – to makan. Pam had some mee, I had salmon spaghetti….punya main sedap :P, gladys had dim sum – her first taste of halal dimsum – and fan had some chicken thingy lah wif rice.

After that, we decided to go for some drinks at Slippery Senoritas at the Curve. {*iklan* Laundry bar and Italiannies oredi opened at the Curve la..should go one day} There was hardly anyone, so we had a good time talking and playing pool.The cocktails there weren’t so fantastic…it was ok la..price was ranging from RM20-30, depending on the drinks. Pretty standard I guess.

Before that, we stopped by at Fan’s place in Pelangi Dsara 2 for a while and his housemate got a new kitten called Angie. Soooooo cute

Sevenatenin9 Finale Launch
Date: 08/04/06
Place: 7ATE9 @ The Ascott, 9 Jalan Pinang, KL

The ever-inventive Haze returns to KL performance with HUMP, a deep-space collaboration in an exclusive invite-only performance to celebrate the launch of bar-restaurant 7ATE9. Musician and producer Haze, an international star thanks to his work with New York’s Kings of Tomorrow, will unveil his sonic tableau HUMP aided by special guest percussionists. Expect deep, dirty grooves and the usual funk twists as Haze soars through his musical journey. ~ From Heineken Music (Malaysia)

White party @ sevenatenine
White is the new black

I had invites to the finale launch – but sadly juz one for myself and another for a friend – so i brought pammy along. Dresscode is white so i was like wondering what to wear coz i got nothing white. So i had to buy a white pants – kinda like jeans material and also some white sandals – coz mine putus when i was at OU.

We went there kinda late. Its supposed to start at 7.30 or 8.00 pm but we only went there at 9pm. There were free drinks – white/red wine, jw, heineken – at the bar till around 9.45pm. So i only got white wine, which was really nice :D

The crowd was mostly made up of young working people who want to be seen and wanted to s how their faces and be seen in the in-crowd. Which was actually rather boring if u ask me. We hung around for a bit then decided to go to Planet Hollywood instead.

Segafredo
My bag, Pam’s ciggies and our milkshake

First we dropped by in PWTC to pick joe up then proceeded on to Bkt Bintang area to stop by at Planet Hollywood. Manatau it was closed for renovation. So we decided to sit opposite PH at Segafredo (I hope i got the name right) for milkshakes. We were just sitting there chatting and observing the people passing by – especially those who got turned down at PH and looked blur coz they din kno where to go.

After our milkshakes, we decided to proceed to Bangkok Jazz – Joe’s favourite place – so that we could go for drinks and say hi to Vicky who is DJing there.

Chocolate fantasies

Posted by on April 8, 2006  |  5 Comments

*notice : drool-worthy post ahead*

I lurve chocolate which explains the size in any form but i seldom get to indulge in it (diet la konon). However, the past 2 weeks, I really went all out to satisfy my choccie fantasies..hehe!

Chocolate Buffet @ Cosmo

Went for a Chocolate buffet at Cosmo with Pam, Cass, Sid & Andre. Met up with them at KL Central – they all naik LRT from Asia Jaya to jimat duit petrol (and sempat pula Sid & Andre grab a bite at McD). Then went to KL Hilton (got a bit lost so had to ask the receptionist) and dived straight for the buffet after ordering drinks.

The chocolate was yummy. Really good quality. The chocolate fountain was nice for dipping in strawberries, marshmellows, grapes and dragon fruit. They also had chocx (sp?) pastry balls drizzled with chocolate, strawberry sauce & whipped cream. I absolutely looooved the chocolate mousse (white choco with mango stew, dark chocolate with banana, which chocolate with raspberry sauce) and the white chocolate covered silvered almonds pralines *drools just thinking about it*.

The buffet might be pricy and not worth it to Erin some people…but considering the amount and most importantly, quality that we ate, it was money well spent.

Time : 8.00 – 10.00pm
Venue : Cosmo Lounge, KL Hilton
Price : RM38++ (only for chocolate buffet – drinks are kinda pricy)
Contact : 0322642264
Rating : 7/10 because there’s no drinks in the buffet and the price is pretty steep

Chocolate Fondue @ Haagen-Dazs

I was drooling like crazy reading Su ann‘s post about going for Chocolate Fondue that I simply absolutely had to try it. Especially since I didnt drink or eat anything sweet a week or so after the Chocolate buffet.

Since I was having midterms exams last week – was kinda stressed out about it coz I had java & database on the same day (tuesday) and statistics on thursday – so wanted to chill out after that so managed to get Nick & Erin to join Gladys and I for eats at haagen-dazs.

It was sooooooooooooooooooooo good~!!! I totally agree with su ann (except we didnt get refills la su ann, they said cannot..soo sad *wails* ) – about the chocolate consistency. It was not watered down nor too sweet. It was pure chocolatey goodness with no aftertaste. The fondue came with scoops of haagen-dazs icecream (i loved the cookies and cream), green apple, banana, peaches and strawberries, wafer s, biscuits and brownies.

Read Su Ann’s blog for a better review (coz she writes reviews better than me) and Nick‘s coz he posted all the pictures. (Erin was kinda dissapointed for some reason so she was moody I doubt she’ll blog about it)

Time : anytime, just walk in (the guy said reservations arent necessary)
Venue : Haagen-Dazs One Utama (old wing) and Great Eastern
Price : RM13++ (per person for four people – cold water provided)
Contact : 0377262825
Rating : 9/10 they would hv got a perfect 10 if they refilled our chocolate.

Would you like some tea?

Before & After

Before & After

Before & After

Obviously, i did a bit a LOT of cleaning today. Had my midterms for Java Programming & Database Systems today. Was 15mins late for Java coz of transport probs :P Finished Database quite early and was kinda lazy to wait for 2-3 hrs for the bus from LKW to OU so i decided to take the public bus to Pasar Seni.

The bus was late, and really full. And took quite a long time. We pusing around Putrajaya…passed Serdang…then finally stopped at Pasar Seni. So i took the lrt to KLCC to meet up with cik pokiah & incik basharuddin at Kpg Pandan for teh tarik & roti canai (murtabak dah abis bila i sampai). Then took the lrt back to KJ & taxi home.

Reached home and did spring cleaning of my room {I can imagine all the makciks saying “Masyaallah kotornye bilik anak dara nih!!!} and had to do all my laundry…THREE loads of it.

Tired….
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I WANT……………..to go to Haagen Dazs to eat their CHOCOLATE FONDUE (as if i didnt hv enough chocolate when i went to eat at the chocolate buffet at cosmo, Hilton KL – will post about that later)
I AM……..so jealous that Su Ann went there……
p/s: G, lets go…. :P
