I went to the Adobe Creative@Work training this morning - as i mentioned 2 days ago. First i kinda got lost looking for that place. All i know was that its somewhere between the Maybank and Police station at uptown. Theres like two shoplots there okay! Then I wasnt really sure how to get in. Tolak2 pintu tapi tak buka. Summore mixterr nampak i tgh blur tatau pintu mana nak masuk…malunyee!!!

So to kaver malu tak pandai buka pintu..

i went to print photos at the Kodak shop next door first (RM23.90 = 100 prints!!) . I only had 98 photos but the guy was nice and let me print it for the promo price rm23.90 + rm 5 processing fee = 0.29 cents each photo. Very nice and glossy prints.

“How cool was the so called training?” asked manchurr.

Well, first off, she (Marianne something, i think she’s from the phillipines, she got that accent) introduced was Device central (which comes free with the CS3, cant be bought seperately). A platform to create mobile content, with full specs and skins of almost all mobile phones. Including interactive buttons to test out your content. NOt only that, it can trigger Photoshop (PS), Illutrator (AI) and Flash in the exact dimensions (h x w) that you want to fit into your phone. Very cool

Another program bundled with CS3 is Adobe Bridge which allows browsing of all adobe files which you can then arrange to stacks (groups) of images which you can also animate. For example, you have 50 individual files of different frames. You can then stack them…and animate it in Bridge..without having to open another program.

Other new features in CS3:

• Similar User interface across different applications
• Larger workspace because the toolbars can all be minimized
• Convert PSD files to FLA files - with the options to save the layers either as an image or a editable text. And it even arranges your layers is the right order. **I really LOVE this feature**
• Flash now uses On2 VP6 Codec which allows alpha channels. This means that, when you have a flash file, you can actually delete the alpha layer (background) and layer it over another flash file or vid. For example you can have a lady walking from left to right, and create a user interface to let the user change the background. Something like that lah…

After that she also talked about Spry (no..not spray). Its a framework for AJAX. It allows users in dreamweaver to create websites using drag and drop, creates template and even applies flash-like effects and transitions all without using codes or flash. All you have to do is import the xml (database) file. Then she gave some brief intro to CSS and gave a demo on how easy it is to work with CSS in Dreamweaver.

Then thats about it. It was a very informative 3 hours. Tak rugi pegi. Too bad they didnt give the CS3 for free tho. lol!
