Starting Final Year

Posted by on July 31, 2007  |  2 Comments

I only went to register this morning. Reached the uni around 11-ish then went to register but one of the ppl in charge of registering is on MC (u take an MC on the first day of uni?) and the other just left for lunch. So we also went for lunch. We as in my mom (who absolutely insisted to follow just so she could explain the itty bitty details of the fees payment and load)  and I.

After waiting an hr or so, we finally managed to get registered by this lecturer whose name sounds like congee (porridge) at which my mother couldn’t stop laughing about. Went to settle the payment and settled everything sometime after 3pm. That one also because I managed to pull some strings. Yep it takes like 4 hours to get registered in my college. Sucks huh?

Anyway, I got classes the whole week. Monday and Wednesday is 9am-6pm. Tuesday is 11-12.30. Thursday and Friday 2-4pm. I wish they just crammed everything in 3-4 days and get it over with rather than us having to go for 2 hour classes a day. Waste of travelling time.

Wanted to go and buy the bus pass but they stupidly decided to change the timetable. The bus from Kelana Jaya now leaves at 7.20 AM instead of the previous 8am. What the hell!?!?! Fucking early weh. We’re now trying to figure out the best way to go around it. *sigh* i wish i had a car.

I missed a breifing this morning, but my classmates said nothing much also. But i got class tomorrow and I hv to drive down to cyberjaya so its time for bed. nitey nite!

Review : The Simpsons Movie

Posted by on July 30, 2007  |  13 Comments

 ** no spoilers **

simpsons movie poster I went to watch this movie with A, Gladz & FarZ at Cineleisure on Friday night Saturday morning. Wanted to go at 9.20pm on Friday night but A couldn’t make it out that early so we took a much much later show at 1.20am. I can almost hear you say “Biar betul?!?!

Yes ladies and gentleman, unlike Cineleisure has movies until 1.20am (and is probably the first cinema to offer that in Malaysia – correct me if I’m wrong but if im not mistaken TGV and GSC only has movies till midnight).

Synopsis from CinemaOnline.com : While a ‘Save-The-Environment’ campaign sweeps Springfield and Lisa Simpson rallies support for the campaign, her father, Homer, mistakenly dumps wastes into the town’s river. This sets a lynch mob after Homer and his family and they are forced to flee to Alaska. Meanwhile, the US government carries out a radical plan to contain the town – and it is up to the Simpsons to come to the town’s rescue.

After many, many, many years of being on the small screen The Simpsons finally made it to the big screen. I know many2 people who were waiting for the show since last year when the trailer was first released.

If you grew up watching the Simpsons you’d notice that the storyline is much like another Simpsons episode but in a grander fuller scale. We have the usual doofus Homer, his loving wife Marge, Lisa – the sensible, serious one, Bart – the joker and Maggie the adorable baby who is smarter than she looks and how the 5 of them handle the situation in their own unique way.

If you’re looking for a movie in which you just want to enjoy and relax and laugh. Then go watch this movie.

Rating : (*)(*)(*)(*) of 5 stars

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
p/s: This goes out to that irritating couple sitting in seat B13+14 in Cinema 6 on Sat morning : Oh for goodness sake, if you go and watch the movie, please do not READ OUT EVERY BLOODY SIGN on the screen. Other people can read also okay. Damn annoying weh!
There are so many email scams asking for money and fake websites asking for email & passwords. Do you think you can spot the difference between a fake website site and an authentic one? I found this quiz where you can test your knowledge on fake websites and legitimate emails.
Is this the real Myspace?
or is THIS the real Myspace?
I tot as an computing-based degree student I would get most of the answers right (perasan!) but apparently I only got 70% =(( Some are quite easy but some are a little tricky. How much do you think you will get? :-> Take the quiz here to find out >> http://www.siteadvisor.com/quizzes/phishing_0707/
Playing tourist
Posted by on July 26, 2007  |  3 Comments
Remember this post? Mag was in KL 2 weeks ago with her fiancee Tim and I played host by bringing them out a few times. I didnt want to bring them to all the shopping mall coz I know they can get there by themselves over the weekend while I’m in PD, so I decided to bring them sightseeing.
[Thursday] Tasik Titiwangsa
Firstly we went to Tasik Titiwangsa where the Eye of Malaysia is located (since i also havent seen it with my own eyes. LOL!) We went there early evening, the weather was perfect, not too many clouds, not raining and best of all, not hot.
I really like taking panorama shots now
Mag, the Eye and I (hey it rhymes)
Night Panorama
Prices are not bad. For an Adult its RM15 and child is almost half than that. Then you get like 5-6 spins on that thing. It stops while you’re up there for a while so thats a good time to take photos. There’s aircon inside so you wont pengsan kepanasan. Oh there’s a VIP booth which is around 200++ for like 5 adults or something like that, i forgot. Anyway I asked the guy whats the difference. Apparently they got soft drinks inside and the glass is tinted and the seats are leather and you can pusing2 longer.
[Thursday] Ivy
Funky disco ball – I wish i had one in my room
That night we planned to go to Zouk but since we were kinda late, we decided to just go pubbing at Asian Heritage Row. Oh A came as well and we met up with Aree over there. Had a few drinks and chit chatted. Aree stayed over at my house that night coz it was too far to send her back that night actually more like wee hours of the morning.
The usual boobie shot ( Tutup mata! Tutup mata!)
Areebabe and I :D
[Friday] Sunway/Putrajaya
We had to go send Aree back to Putrajaya so we decided to hv dinner kat Sunway. Picked Mag & Tim at KJ and proceeded to Sunway to eat at Hartz Chicken Buffet. Yum. All you can eat for only RM17++ and I really like their buns and chicken of course and mashed potatoes.
Stuffed with food
Then after getting lost sending Aree back to Putrajaya, we (A & I) decided to bring Mag and Tim on a tour in Putrajaya going to the jambatan where there was a lot of couples and then driving through the government buildings. It was all very nicely lighted up and very impressive-looking.
Night scene in putrajaya
I kinda like this photo
We then sent Mag & Tim back home and went back to sleep because we were goin to PD the next day.
[Monday] Genting
The lights! The lights!
Mag & Tim were going back on Tuesday night and we decided to bring them for Sate Kajang and Genting on that last night. So we picked them up from Terminal Putra and went to -where else? – Sate Kajang Hj Samuri at Gombak. Mag paid for our dinner. Thanks mag! Then we proceeded up to Genting around 8pm-ish.
Tim & Mag…aww so sweet
Mag & I posing atas batu
Fooling around with a cowboy hat
We went back around 12-ish since there was nothing much to do up there at night and everyone was so dead tired (I wonder why Mag & Tim could hardly keep awake…hehehe) so we sent them back to their hotel then home sweet home.
Mag, it was great meeting up with you after all these years. Funny when we laugh about those days in secondary school. I hope you enjoyed your trip this time around. I’ll be in KK in July for ur wedding. I promise :D
Your Road to Stardom!
Posted by on July 26, 2007  |  3 Comments
I was at The Curve the other night eating dinner when I noticed that there was an event going on in the Piazza (that area between Curve and Cineleisure). There were a bunch of people in beachwear – girls in sexy bikinis and swimsuits and guys in bermuda shorts. Apparently it was the StarCeleb live recording. May Wan and Daniel Tan – were there to host the event.
*sings ala Madonna* Who’s that girl? nanananananana
StarCeleb is a new reality show that will be airing on NTV7 in September. Unlike other reality shows which are looking for singers or dancers, StarCeleb is looking for a multi-talented person who can not only be an ideal host but also be a brand ambassador and model. Currently there are 60 contestants who are competing to win RM50,000 cash prizes and a modelling/hosting contract. Cool eh?
During the event there was a fashion show with the contestants strutting their stuff to show off their best modelling pose. Then they were several games played. One of which they chose 4 contestants, 2 guys and 2 girls then got them standing back to back inside a hula hoop which was put at their necks. Then they have to race and see who finishes first. The pair who finished last had to do the funniest face to make the audience laugh.
Funny enough or not this face?
The audience participated by being the judges for all the games played by the contestants. Not only that, there are also exciting activities, fashion shows, demos and other goodies waiting.
Missed all the action at the Curve? Dont worry! There are two more StarCeleb live recordings happening in the next two weeks. One is on 28th and 29th July in Lower Ground Floor Oval, 1 Utama, Petaling Jaya and another in Boulevard, Berjaya Times Square, KL on 4th to 5th August. Both events start after 11am till night. Head on there for some great fun!
What is PayPerPost?
Posted by on July 22, 2007  |  4 Comments
I met a blogger the other day and who asked if I have been making money from my blog. Upon hearing that I did make rm70 but have yet to cash it out, she said proceeded to tell me that she registered with PPP and makes more money that she thought was possible through blogging. Then i started looking around in my blog network and found out that many people were actually using PPP and actually getting money for it.
Unlike other sponsored post programs, the great thing about PPP is that I could actually choose what I want to write about instead of writing something that I knew nothing about and didn’t like. Not only that, PPP pays its bloggers through PayPal – which is one of the fastest and most secure online transaction system.
There are many different opportunities to choose that includes a range of topics such as hotel reservations, flowers, discount coupons, free calling cards and many more. I knew the type of things my readers (you guys!) would be interested in reading and knowing about and so I chose opportunities accordingly.
So if you’re a blogger and would like to do the same, just click the payperpost button below to start writing about the things that are relevant to you and your readers.
