Emo-ness

Posted by on August 23, 2007  |  4 Comments

On Tues nite I slept over at a friend’s place in KL. Then I had class in cyberjaya at 9.30am. That meant getting up at 7am, getting ready, hving breakfast then take the monorail to KL central (rm2.10), and take the ERL to Putrajaya (RM9.50) then a taxi to campus (RM11) because the bus from putrajaya to campus would be too late.

So after spending about rm23 and getting up at the ungodly hour of 7am – I arrived in class at 9.30am and what do I see? The campus was having some Karnival Patriotik of which we were not informed of at all. And – worst!- all classes will only commence after 2pm.

What the fuck!?! Bloody idiots! If I knew, I could hv just overslept till afternoon, then gone home. Which will only cost me something like rm5. Well actually im supposed to have afternoon class but for the past 3 weeks you keep promising there is a lecturer but when we go to class, there is none! So no point going. So around 11-ish, i took the bus back.

Taking the bus back from campus is a rather tiring – albeit cheaper – ordeal. First I hv to take the (free!) Rapid bus from campus to cyberjaya. Then from cyberjaya bus station I hv to take the T429 to Putrajaya central (rm1). Then waited for less than half an hour for the bus (forgot which one) to take me to Kelana Jaya station. From there I could hv taken another bus to Kota Dsara but i because I felt kinda tired and pissed off, i got my mom to pick me up from KJ (manja!)

Argh! so damn annoying to go all the way to cyberjaya from KL then hv to go back! Im already so short of money then my money is wasted *sigh*

(cukup emo tak sankai? ngah? :P)

MyFitnessPal

Posted by on August 20, 2007  |  4 Comments

I love food, I’ll easily admit that. But of course too much food is not good for the body. Lately everyone – looks pointedly at angah – has a craze to be thinner. I guess one good way of slimming down is to monitor your calorie intake, watch your food, take a healthy diet and exercise.

MyFitnessPal is here to help. It’s a free – with emphasis on FREE – diet and fitness website which gives you advice on how to make better food choices and track your eating with a diet journal so that you can effectively monitor your eating choices and the calories in food that you take. Did you know, for example, that McD’s chicken nuggets (6 pieces) has 250 calories and 15g fat? (G, take note!)

Not only does it provide a calorie chart, it also has a food database, a message board to get support from other weight watchers and also is flexible enough for you to use with any type of diet you want – be it Atkins, South Beach or Low-Carb.

So over there to register and use their services and calorie counter for free.

Download Friday : FastStone Photo Resizer

Posted by on August 17, 2007  |  2 Comments

fs screenshot

FastStone Photo Resizer is an image converter / resizer intended to enable users to convert, rename, resize, crop, rotate, change color depth, add text and watermarks to images in a quick and easy batch mode. Drag and Drop mouse operation is well supported.

I just started using this program yesterday and I found it oh-so-convenient. Im currently using my SE k800i phone to take all my photos and (like other Sony cameras) the photos are automatically name DSC00001 onwards. I will usually just group it into folders based on the date and/or events.

Using the FS Photo Resizer, all I have to do is select the folder on the right side under SOURCE and click ADD ALL to add all the photos on the INPUT LIST on the left side. Then I just have to set the name of the file then it automatically renames the photos.

Easy peasy.

Review : Perfect Stranger

[ August 15, 2007 @ 17:54]
Im goin to go watch this movie tonight…..wait for the review soon!

Synopsis: When investigative reporter Rowena Price learns that her friend’s murder may be connected to powerful ad executive Harrison Hill, she goes undercover with the help of her associate, Miles Hailey. Posing as Katherine, a temp at Hill’s agency, and Veronica, a girl Hill flirts with online, Rowena surrounds her prey from all sides, only to discover that she isn’t the only one changing identities. The closer we get to learning the truth, the more we understand how far people will go to protect it. Opens in Malaysia on 23 August 2007.

I got free tickets (again!) to the screening of this movie last nite at 9.30pm in Cineleisure. Thanks again to Cass. Pam and I had dinner at Burger King – which the service sucked but we got a free medium onion rings to make up for it – then proceeded to watch the movie.

I went watching this movie with low expectations due to the rather low rating it got at Yahoo! Movies with only a D+ from critics and C+ from the users. Plus its Halle Berry and sometimes her movies tend to be rather boring.

So the story centers around Halle Berry’s character – Rowena Price – one of the top editors in a newspaper (writing under a pseudonym) who often goes undercover to uncover controversial stories. One of her friend dies after having an affair with Harisson Hill. So she uses her sex appeal to get closer to Hill. Sounds like the story is predictable eh? It’s not.

As the story progresses, we see that each of the characters have a dirty secret – Hill has affairs behind his wife’s back (what’s new?), Hill’s right hand (wo)man is a lesbian – and people are not what we expect.

Review : Ratatouille

My free ticket to the screening

Rat-aa-tu-eee-leRa-ta-to-tee

Rat-ta-tu-ti

Rat….err…forget it…it’s that tikus cartoon

Millions of different and confusing ways to pronounce and spell it. According to the poster it’s pronounced rat-a-too-ee.

Thanks to Cass, Taufie, Pam & I got free tickets to watch the screening of Ratatouille before it opens in (Malaysian) cinemas on 16th August. The screening was at Cinema 9 in Cineleisure (have I mentioned how i like to watch movies there?) at 9.30 pm last night.

Synopsis :“Ratatouille” is about a lovable rat – Remy – who constantly risks his life in an expensive French restaurant because of his love for good food, as well as a burning desire to become a gourmet chef. Obviously, this is rather far-fetched for a rat but opportunity knocks when a young boy, who desperately needs to keep his job at the restaurant despite not being able to cook to save his life, makes Remy a partner. The two of them learn to avoid the insane head chef, bring the rest of Remy’s family up to his culinary standards, win the boy a girlfriend, and of course, produce the finest ratatouille in all of France!

First up, the technical, artsy-fartsy, high class-ish stuff. The animation in this movie was superb – typical to Pixar’s long running success in animation movies. I liked the short clip they showed before the movie – about a noobie alien learning to teleport a human into a spaceship- simply hilarious. The scenes were all very detailed and the camera angles really gave the viewers the experience of looking at the world from a lower point of view (since the main characters were mostly rats).

Storywise its an entertaining show which got the audience laughing at some really funny scenes and also makes you really want to root for poor Linguine who is constantly bullied. The story is about how Remy was different from the other rats and had to lie and pretend to be accepted by his colony (i didnt know colony was used for rats..i tot it was used for ants only :P).

ratatouille2As in all Disney movies, there are always some kind of tearful conflict and disappointment but in the end, all is good. The bad guys lose and the good guys triumph. All in all, this movie was an enjoyable experience with no boring parts.

Aik…apesal tak jadi?

Sbb I takde transport nak gi awal skit. Sbb kena tunggu mak ayah balik baru kuar kul 1pm. Sbb bila i dah bersiap (dan nak bawa skali laptop, datacard & webcam) nak kuar umah kul 1pm, I call derang dulu.

Dlm 30 min kot.

Ok next time

Tu lebih kurang apa yg terjadi. So I pon tukar baju dan lepak umah jek.

Fastforward satu jam kemudian (2pm). Af tepon tanya kalo I kat Pantai Dalam tak sbb dier ada kat area tu pastu nak singgah. I kata tak..sbb tadi nak pegi tapi derang kata tak sempat. Pastu tiba2 dier kata dier terserempak ngan derang.
