2007 flashbacks

I found that 2007 was great. I enjoyed myself most of the time. It wasn’t like the previous years which was rather crappy with extreme highs and lows – its the low points that really wear me out. However this year was different.

Here’s a recap of the past 12 months :

• January : I was still using my old domain (midnightdances.com). The new year was good with loads of new stuff
• February : Had my first open house since I came to KL. Its actually an invite-only makan2 for Chinese New Year.
• March : Had marvelous steamboat – too much food for too little people, as usual :P Oh and also got my first laptop.
• April : Took my first outstation trip to Seremban using the ktm. Got into my first (and worst) accident. Picked up a girl left at the side of the highway – there’s this interesting story about how she got there.
• May : Changed domain names. Started submitting those meager attempts i like to call ‘photography’ – still a huge work in progress.
• June : Had a craze for papercrafts. Celebrated my grandfather’s 101th Birthday in Kuching. Went all the way to Mines for bowling.
• July : Went bowling again – my first jwg gath. Went for another gathering but this time with bloggers. Started my foray into blogging for money. Oh,Mag came down from KK for a visit with her fiancee. Started my final year.
• August : Got 2 hamsters (but now one died because the other kept attacking it. RIP :() One of the biggest event in the Malay bloggers blogosphere happened – met lots of new friends. 50th Independence for Malaysia.
• September : The 1st iban advert shown in TV. Heroes Season 2 starts. I turned 22.
• October : Got addicted to Catan. Got my very own Car. Gegar Raya 2007.
• November : Spoke my mind and disappointed a lot of people in the process. Had the most fantastic time in Pangkor. My first political-based post. Got into my second accident of the year.
• December : Relaunching of Zestful Eats. Had a slight panic attack about uni related stuff. Apa nama kambing? Read about it here. Joined the Msian Youth Dotcom Search. You can vote for me on the top right.

Its been a great year – I’m very happy with my life and where I am at this moment. Lets hope this positive streak stays till next year.

New Furniture

Remember when I was complaining that I was so tired? Well today I had to pack all my stuff from the computer table I was using. Then I had to sweep and mop the floor. Why? Because I got a new table! Yey!

Went furniture shopping in Ikea and came back with a computer desk/table, a rug and a dustbin. Had to come back, clean the room and assemble the table – with help from Daddy dearest of course.

I hang a ‘curtain’ of shells outside my door. Bought it from Bangkok. It was so cheap there. I changed my chair to a wood one, its more comfortable then the plastic one which sticks to the skin, especially when Im wearing shorts.

Now all I need is a couple of huge pillows :)

Went for supper with Hafreze last nite – or rather, early this morning – at Williams. Had a good talk about blogging, PR, lousy local hosting, girls and err mostly girls :P Sori coz I was late. Thanks sbb banjer :* lain kali leh ler pegi ‘dating’ gi :P

Clubbing Vs Pubbing

What’s your plan for new years?

I made plans with my friend that I might join him and his frens pubbing in Subang if I have no plans. I thought that was the perfect plan because it wont be as packed as in KL and I wont hv to dress up. Plus he’ll belanja :P (i think…) It’ll be a simple and casual evening drinking with frens to celebrate the new year.

But. now im in a dilemma.

I just won 2 free tickets to the Midzone Countdown Party I wrote about some time ago here. Tickets are RM75 (presale) and RM100 (door price). The Lineup is also good : VJ Sort from Kagawa Japan, DJ Matthew White from Hungary and DJ Stoneface & Terminal (Euphonic Germany). The bad thing is, its in Midvalley and that area will be bloody jam.

So howwwwwwwwww?????

Happy™ or Not?

I got another number. Yea, besides using my main number (012) and my secondary number (019), I got another 0143 number from Happy (which is actually under Digi). Just for calling out tho, coz its bloody cheap. 1 cent per second with a max of 0.99 cents and a max of 45 minutes. Ha? Tak faham? (Dont understand?) Here’s the breakdown:

1 second = 1 cent
2 seconds = 2 cents
3 seconds = 3 cents
99 seconds = 99 cents
100 seconds = 99 cents (max)
101 seconds = 99 cents
2700 seconds (max) = 99 cents

So basically, after 45 minutes (2700 seconds) the call gets cut off. Cheap yes? Of course not as cheap as postpaid lines with free calls/sms/mms Family Plans but still pretty cheap for a prepaid line.

Search For The perfect Theme

What again? Yea, I’m thinking of changing this theme – again. Looking for the perfect theme is like looking for a soulmate. Haha! I’m serious! It has to be the right colour, the right size, right images and most of all right feel for the blog. So yea, dont be surprised to see weird changes and what not.

Come to think of it, I don’t really like the sidebars on either side of the main window. Looks like too much text in one place. I think I still like my previous one with the sidebar on the right side. Im thinking of putting all my links in a separate page instead of at the side bar, kinda cluttered looking don’t you think?

Oh yea, Jai from Blog Oh! Blog is offering a lucky draw for a custom-made theme. Great way to start of blogging in 2008 yea? *crosses fingers in hopes of winning*

Review : The Warlords

I went to check out Sunway Pyramid yesterday. After the extensive renovations, it looks really nice. Except that they lost their Egyptian feel in the new wing. It feels so much like Midvalley, with round ends – like the North and South courts.

I watched this movie yesterday at TGV Sunway Pyramid. Actually wanted to watch Across the Universe with Zakri (a friend of mine who I haven’t met for some time) but it wasn’t showing any more :( or perhaps it wasn’t showing in TGV.

Well before i get on about the movie, i want to complain about the cinema. It was LOUSY! First of all the lady at the counter who sold me the tickets was so silly. I asked which side the screen was  buying the tickets. And she told me the direct opposite. I had lousy seats! Like 4-5 seats from the front. The whole cinema was lousy anyway. The incline of the floor was so steep that the headrest of your seat is at the knees of the person behind u. Sucks!

The Warlords is a 2007 Chinese / Hong Kong martial arts / drama film directed by Peter Chan and starring Andy Lau, Jet Li and Takeshi Kaneshiro. The film is set in the 1860s, during the Taiping Rebellion in the late Qing Dynasty in China. The story, based on an unresolved crime in 1870, tells of three sworn brothers (played by Andy Lau, Jet Li and Takeshi Kaneshiro) who turn against one another over a beautiful woman (Xu Jinglei).

Yea, I went to watch a Mandarin movie. Hehe! I saw the trailer for the movie some time ago and it looks interesting. Its a very interesting story of love, war, fighting, friendship and of course brotherhood. It’s a good mix of elements told in narration by the cute cute Takeshi Kaneshiro. Hehe!

Aree & her Lights

Aree just bought a new place somewhere in Jalan Kuching. Now she’s waiting for the renovations and wiring to be completed before she can move in. She decided to do it all up nicely so its rather extensive. We like to tease her about when is she actually goinna move to her new house. Hehe!

So anyway, she dragged Pam and Arai (poor them :P) and went around for about 2 weeks looking for lights. She was very particular about the kinds of lights she wants. She really wants a chandelier (to hang over her dining table perhaps) and also assortments of lights for the inside and outside (balcony of her house).

Babe, why not just look for light fixtures online to get the basic ideas of designs you want. There are many types of lights here such as your favourite chandeliers and maybe even some home lighting – like those sex lights you always wanted for your bedroom. Hehe!
