Not miss Independent

I’m laying here in the dark, listening to the light snoring and the quiet rumble of the LRT starting its daily routine. I really love times like these, the wee hours of the morning when night has passed but it isn’t morning, not just yet. Its a time for pondering, reflection and many thoughts.

Its kind of chilly, the air, during these magical moments that are just like twilight – the in between time, that 1-2 hours perched at the edge of day and night or night and day. Bundled up in a comforter that is very soft due to years of use, I wish that every night could be like this. The reassuring feeling of being loved and taken care of envelopes me much like this comforter, keeping my body and heart warm. But I’m still not sure why I’m so hesitant.

Perhaps I know that this time it’s different. There’s something here that i know will pull and suck me in deep. If I stop resisting now but in the future it doesn’t work out, I’ll fall. Fall hard, like I’ve never fallen before. And I don’t know if I can pick myself up after that.

“Its a part of life” my friends say. “Better to have loved and lost then never loved at all.” Yea you may be right but its the lost part that really troubles me. Then my mind rationalizes by saying “Don’t commit, not just yet. If you don’t have it, you cant lose it. No loss = no hurt.” Crazily enough, it works. That’s where I am now. Not single but not really attached. And he seems to be ok up with it – so far.

However deep down i know its wrong, unfair. Mostly for him, but also for me. Maybe I’m just scared.

Want Your Own Website?

Posted by on December 18, 2007  |  2 Comments

There was a question on the MalaysianBloggers forum about moving from a free blog service to their own dotcom. Well I think that having your own hosting and domain is better because then you can host your own blogging platform – like WordPress which gives you more control over your blog(s).

Then, you can also host your own photos using many different photo album services instead of relying on free services which are limited. Not only that, dot com sites get better paid posts :P

However, there are so many different webhosts available. How do you choose the right one? Well, just drop by http://www.webhostingchoice.com and put your budget and requirements (size of space, bandwidth) then it’ll search for the most suitable webhost.

Good luck!

Yey Party time~

Posted by on December 17, 2007  |  No Comments

Its the end of the year 2007 and there are alot of events happening, from Christmas Parties and huge New Year Eve’s Party. Midvalley is hosting a 2008 Countdown part promising to be KL’s “most heart throbbing, visually stimulating & magnificent countdown part of the decade” – sounds so much more than a party to me. Hehe!

They’re feature a lineup of international DJs such as VJ Sort from Kagawa Japan, DJ Matthew White from Hungary and DJ Stoneface & Terminal (Euphonic Germany). DJ Stoneface and Terminal sounds familiar doesn’t it? Well this is a vid i got off YouTube ripped from Tiesto Club Life, the song by Gareth Emery – More Than Anything (Stoneface & Terminal Remix).

Oh, and the BEST part of this party is that they’re having a choreographed fireworks display with pulsating dance. I mean, I’ve seen light shows and dancers (some even trannys) but a choreographed fireworks display? I’m sure it’ll blow your mind.

Prices of the tickets are RM75 (presale) and RM100 (door sale). For 18 and above only. U can buy tickets from [here].

So where do YOU want to be this new year’s?

So Tired

Posted by on December 16, 2007  |  No Comments

Omg, im SO tired~! Slept early yesterday, from 4pm till around 3 am. Haha! Fitful 11 hours sleep with no interruptions. Then of course couldn’t sleep until now. However, I’ve been busy the whole day packing. Oh no! Not another move?

Nope, just a lot of furniture moving. Carrying furniture upstairs and downstairs. My parents decided that they wanted to change the layout of my room because my corner table from Ikea was taking up too much space and I agreed with them. We then began the very tedious process.

First I had to pack up all my stuff and throw out things I don’t need. My mom made me throw out a lot of stuff. She called me a hoarder. LOL! Well I kinda am. Sayang la to throw anything away, who knows they might be useful one day (but that day seldom comes). Then we had to dismantle the table and mop and wipe away the 5 inches of dust collected underneath all the furniture. Then carry the furniture upstairs (my room is downstairs) and carry the furniture from upstairs down.

Anyway, this is how my room looked before, a lil cramped:
before

And this is how my room looks like now – but i still have to rearrange my stuff on the shelves.
after

Sooo tired! Im goinna have an early nite tonite.

If the ‘before’ pics look familiar, they’re actually from the "Spot the difference" post – about one year ago.

[Review] I Am Legend

Posted by on December 15, 2007  |  7 Comments

It is the Year 2012 and New York is deserted. Cars abandoned and the streets are overrun by weed and plants. Buildings are empty and run down. A man and his dog are the only living creatures that we can see. Then we see a pack? herd? of deer suddenly appearing on screen. The hunt is on. Man and dog chase after the deer (perhaps for food?) but were beaten to it by lions (btw, the lioness does the hunting while the lion stands by and watch – pemalas!).

I am Legend actually a title of a 1954 sci-fi novel by Richard Matheson about the last man alive on the planet Earth. The novel tells the story of the monotony and horror of the daily life of the protagonist, Robert Neville. Neville is apparently the only survivor of an apocalypse caused by a pandemic of bacteria, the symptoms of which are very similar to vampirism. [Wiki] The 2007 movie I am Legend is a film adaptation of the book. Not a 100% book-turned-movie but with a different ending.

I found this movie to be really interesting. It focused on how Neville learned to survive by himself in a deserted world and especially how he had to cope with his loneliness. In a series of flashbacks, we piece together the puzzle of his past – how the virus started, what was his role in it and what happened to his family. With only his dog as company, he has to adapt to being one person against the world.

Quite surprisingly, the combination of total silence in some parts of the movie and music in others (this is my multimedia student side talking) enhanced the scenes by forcing us to focus on the complexity of the situation. The effects of a deserted NYC was really fantastic and realistic.

If you’re looking for a movie that is Resident Evil-ish with blood, gore, shooting and slicing, you might be disappointed. There are numerous action scenes but this movie really focuses on the storyline. All in all, I think that it was a really good film adaptation of the book.

Rating : (*)(*)(*)(*) 4.5 stars

Got Bad Credit?

Posted by on December 15, 2007  |  No Comments

Its quite a hassle having bad credit. I remember late last year I had to use my name to register for a postpaid 3g line for a friend of mine because he got blacklisted by not paying his bills (he was renting a house with friends then moved out but forgot to cancel the house phone line which was under his name).

Example of credit cards for people with bad credit.

Bad credit happens when you fail to repay loans or declaring bankruptcy. Lucky for BadCreditOffers you can compare and contrast dozens of bad credit offers – like credit cards and bad credit loans – from major providers and find the best offer that fits your needs. Makes life easier doesn’t it?

MMS – 14 Dec

Posted by on December 15, 2007  |  2 Comments

It was a busy busy day yesterday. Stayed up all night due to my "panic attack" incident. Finally completed my research paper around 10.30am then went for brunch with G at Old Town. Pam’s addiction to that place has rubbed off on me lah. G drove down to cyberjaya with me – I tak larat to drive that far alone coz of lack of sleep. We don’t want this to happen again do we?

14DecOU2 14DecOU1  14DecOU3
Should I buy that orange top? Still deciding

Came back around 1pm and took a short nap. Went back out again at 3.30pm before going out to meet Wan & Syah at who came down from Kedah for a job interview in TTDI. Picked them up and we went to One Utama to jalan-jalan. I just realized that the only time that I go to OU is to bring people from out of town to look see. Don’t really hang out there nowadays – Mutiara Dsara (Curve/Ikea/Cineleisure/Ikano) is my preferred place to shop and hang out. Just found out that there is a karaoke jamban & CC on the same level as GSC. Sang a few songs there – actually more like I sang 1 song and 2 guys melalak2.

Went back home, mandi then went to KJ to pick up mp3 & perampok. Lepaked with the jwg guys last nite. As usual I was the only gal – pompuan lain tak tahan ngan perangai derang kot? haha! We went to the usual Kedai Air Buah Keramat. I have no idea what the real name of that kedai but the air buah is cheap and the tauhu bakar is sedap.

over untuk filem rock 2..the revival of Jiyde & Gayde bara

Then we went to YowChuan to melalak – 2nd time for me in a day. hehehe! Tak puas la melalak 2 jam je :( but it was closing at 3am so we continued on to Pelita for makan2. The usual after-clubs crowd was hustled in after 3.30am. I was quite surprised I didn’t bump into anyone that nite. Ohh, there was this lady who is slightly chubby and wearing this really sexy top but the worst part is, she wasn’t wearing a bra. So her ‘fun bags’ were hanging for all to see. I mean if they were perky boobs then nvm la if got no bra, but tergantung2 like that? (Mp3 nyer mata tersembul keluar when he saw that. Haha!)

Overall it was a fun nite. Oh yea, i got tagged by mp3. You wont understand it, its an inside joke.
Tiga Kegunaan James:

p/s: Happy Birthday to Izyan. sorry babe couldn’t make it to your party last nite at Heritage Row. I already had plans plus if i went, who’s going to send me back? Hope you had a good one!

[Download Friday] All I want

Posted by on December 14, 2007  |  2 Comments

This is still one of my favourite Christmas songs. So many people have sang it but today, I give you three different versions of it. A slow mellow one by Mariah Carey, a punk-rock type one by My Chemical Romance and my favourite version by Olivia Olson.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I don’t want a lot for chrismas
There is just one thing I need
I don’t care about presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true …
All I want for Christmas is
You … yea yea

I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
(And I) don’t care about presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don’t ned to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won’t make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you …
You baby

Oh I won’t ask for much this Christmas
I won’t even wish for snow
(And I)I’m just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
i won’t make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won’t even stay awake to
Hear those magic reindeer click
‘Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do
Baby all I want for Christmas is you
You baby

All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere (so brigthly yea)
And the sound of chlidren’s
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing (oh yea)
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won’t you bring me the one I really need-
Won’t you please bring my baby to me …

Oh I don’t want a lot for Chrismas
This is all I’m asking for
i just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door

Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is
You (you) baby
All I want for Christmas is you baby …

Bikini beach babes

Posted by on December 14, 2007  |  2 Comments

Oohh I can’t wait for Phuket! Less than 2 months to go! So excited. I need to get a new swimsuit though. I’ve had mine for years and looking back at the Pangkor pics, they don’t really fit me well, especially at the bust. Are my boobs getting bigger? LOL!

I wish I had the body to put on a bikini. Yea, in my dreams. Haha! Well at least I can still go window shopping for that one fine day (again, in my dreams) when I can squeeze myself into one. (Hey, at least I am secure about my physical appearance).

hot bikini sexyI really like Vix swimsuits designs, especially their 2008 collection. Take this really hot and sexy bikini on the left.

Its the Vix 2008 Biarritz slider triangle halter top. According to the website, "this triangle top has brass sliders to allow you to expand the top." I can already imagine this under a sheer blouse and slacks or tight jeans and it can be a really nice clubbing outfit. Two in one!

This website has all the brand names of bikinis that I’ve never heard of – Vix Bikinis, L Space Bikinis and Betsey Johnson Swimwear – all for sale too!. But one thing’s for sure, their designs are all so gorgeous.

Now please excuse me as I drift off to dreamland… :P
