The very same words

Posted by on January 23, 2008  |  Comments Off

The words that comfort me and make me feel loved
From the lips that have touched mine
Is spoken to another person,
The exact same tone, exact same mood
The very same words

“You’re playing with fire. Don’t forget karma.” said Pam. Yes, I know, I know. But this is the path I chose to take, karma or no karma. I selfishly chose my own happiness – without regard of what or who gets burnt.

Technically, I have no right to terasa. Come on, its not like I didn’t expect it to happen. I knew that I’d have to face it sooner or later and not just once, but a few times at that. But then, how come I feel so…..

Worst part is, no matter how much we try to assure ourselves, I know this won’t have a happy ending. Sigh~

My new gorgeous anklet

Posted by on January 22, 2008  |  4 Comments

I bought my first semi precious stone jewelry today. Some people (mostly Chinese) believe that gems are nature’s storehouse of energy. Gems have the power and energy to increase one’s mental abilities, psychic powers, bring immense good luck, great fortune, eradicate problems, and remove hurdles in all major of life.

Anyway, I was having dinner at the Curve with Aree – whom I haven’t met for ages. We had this really filling meal at Sakae Sushi with the bill reaching about 80 bucks. After that Aree was looking for a toilet and she passed by this stall selling gemstones. She started trying on necklaces and earrings

I caught my eye on this anklet. Looked at the price and it was RM60. RM60 for an anklet?!? I looked at other stuff then went back to look at the anklet. Spent like 15 minutes just touching it and walking away. LOL! People say that if you feel drawn to a certain gem/stone jewelry you should get it. So yea, I decided to get it.

The anklet consists of Lapis Lazuri (blue), Amethyst (purple) and Calcite (white). Apparently Lapis Lazuri is for Love, Protection, Power, Healing, Amethyst for Power, Protection, Healing and Calcite for Cleansing, Healing. But actually what’s more important is that I really like it :D

I had to add about 8 more beads (which cost extra) to make it longer and I also changed the clasp and chain to a silver one because I’m kinda rough (no! i dont mean in bed) so I don’t want the chain to putus. So all in all, including a discount from the nice owner, it was RM79.

But it was oh so nice…

Oh, I was so surprised to receive this in the mail. Its a cheque for USD 31++ from Text Link Ads. Ah, i made a mistake of not setting it to payout to my Paypal. Now I need to bank it in a local bank here and pray that they don’t charge too much so that I can still get some of that 30USD. For all I know, I might only have RM30 out of the whole thing. LOL!

Cher Goodness

Posted by on January 22, 2008  |  No Comments

Cher. A name that everyone is familiar with. Accomplished singer, actress, songwriter, author and entertainer. Just hearing her name conjures up an image of jet black hair cut into a straight fringe, high cheekbones and dressed in gold, sexy clothes.

Some info I got from wikipedia:
* Since her debut in 1964, Cher has sold over 100 million records worldwide and an estimated 70 million solo singles, becoming one of the biggest-selling artists of all time.
* Her real name is Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre and her father is from Armenia
* According to a 2002 Rolling Stone magazine article, her personal net worth was estimated to be over US$600 million

Would you believe she’s already 61 years old? Yea, you read that right – sixty one. Most of our parents or grandparents are around that age and could you just imagine them performing on stage like Cher does?

The newest update about her is that she is working on her 26th album but there is no confirmed release date. Not only that, it is rumoured that Cher might collaborate with Timbaland in his next album. Not only that, she is also going to perform in Las Vegas starting May 2008. Would love to get my hands on Cher tickets for Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to see how she looks like after her last single in 2003.

Anyway, I think that 43 years in the entertainment industry is such a huge achievement. Way to go Cher!

[Review] Cloverfield

Cloverfield poster
Cloverfield teaser poster. Credit Yahoo! Movies

Synopsis : Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

There was a lot of hype about this movie before it came out. Loads of teaser trailers, little snippets of information about the monster who attacked NYC. I went to watch this movie two days ago at Cineleisure (where else) and – like many other movies with loads of hype (i.e: The Golden Compass) it was kind of a dissapointment.

The movie was shot freestyle ala-Blair Witch Project. I think its actually harder to shoot a movie like that rather than the traditional cameras on the set style. The good part about it is that it really makes you feel like you are in the movie itself. The bad part is the shaky camera, unclear sounds and generally messy atmosphere. As a result, its like you miss little parts of the movie.

The story line was actually very slow in the beginning. A bit too much emphasis on the party they planned for Rob and introducing the characters so it was rather boring. I thought the interesting part only started somewhr in the middle of the movie where the attacks started (and when the statue of liberty lost her head – literally).

The reason what I said it was a dissapointment was because the ending sucked. After the movie, the whole cinema was speechless. Not out of awe, but like “huh? that’s it?”. There was no proper explanation about the monster, what happened next and all that.

Rating : Two stars

Heart problems?

Posted by on January 20, 2008  |  No Comments

My family is not a really healthy one. I have aunties from both my mom’s and dad’s side who have cancer – breast cancer actually. However, did you know that in the US about 900, thats NINE HUNDRED, people have Sudden Cardiac Arrest everyday?

There is a way to help prevent this. A implantable cardioverter defibrillator or ICD Implant is used to treat dangerously fast heart rates that occur in the lower chambers of the heart (the main pumping chambers).

Thank goodness my family doesn’t have heart problems.

The Second You Sleep

This is one of my favourite songs. Thanks to hafreze for introducing it. Hehe! Give it a listen

You close your eyes
And leave me naked by your side
You close the door so I can’t see
The love you keep inside
The love you keep for me

It fills me up
It feels like living in a dream
It fills me up so I can’t see
The love you keep inside
The love you keep for me

I stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
It gives me time to stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
I wish by God you’d stay
I stay awake
I stay awake and watch you breathe
I stay awake and watch you fly
Away into the night
Escaping through a dream

I stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
It gives me time to stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
I wish by God you’d stay

Hey
Stay

I stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
It gives me time to stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
It gives me time to stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
I wish by God you’d stay

Stay awake
Stay
Stay
I wish by God you’d stay

"Breaking up" is hard to do

Posted by on January 19, 2008  |  No Comments

*looks at the clock* yea I’m up too early today. Morning world :*

Technically it isn’t a breakup which is why I mention it as a “break up” with all the inverted commas. Hehe! I was never officially together with B but it was progressing that way, we got closer and closer.

I thought perhaps he was the one guy who was serious about me. *sigh* The good things in my life , wait, let me rephrase. Its more like the good guys in my life don’t last long. Then again, maybe they weren’t “good guys” after all. I’ve been warned over and over that I trust people too easily.

Anyway, I’ve been debating on how to cut it off with him since December. I have some stuff over at his place. Every time I break it off with someone its usually over the phone – not because I want to, but circumstances forces me to do that. Usually its a fight over the phone then I say I want a breakup then never contact him or layan his “I made a mistake and now I want you back” calls.

So, I kinda chickened out. I never actually got to the point that I told him it’s off, but I sent my guy fren to pick up all my stuff. I lent him my other phone to use because his was spoilt and I don’t like it when I can’t contact someone. Now since I took it back, he has no means to contact me and I can’t contact him either. So I guess its like an assumption la :P

Evil kan?

Sexy Red Bra?

Posted by on January 18, 2008  |  6 Comments

Guys, what colour bra do you like? Do you think a red bra is sexy? Or is black sexier? I know *someone* who likes transparent sheer bras. LOL! So anyway, why am I talking about bras?

I was in Jusco Sunway the other day to buy my CNY baju and wanted to buy some bras as well. Then I saw this really nice red bra but when I went nearer it looked so WEIRD. I added the picture in the spoiler.

They had the clasp in the front and at the back. Isnt tat weird? The pattern is kinda nice but that front “clasp” totally spoiled it lah. What the hell is it for anyway? The back part is of course to open it. I think the front is to push the boobs together to make the cleavage deeper or something.

Weird designs bra makers come up with nowadays.

p/s: I ended up not buying a bra :(

Flight promos

Posted by on January 18, 2008  |  No Comments

Airasia sometimes offers promotions for almost ridiculously cheap air tickets. Some time ago, I bought a return ticket from LCCT to Kota Kinabalu for only RM160 (including all their airport taxes and insurance).

The bad thing about that is that you have to be sitting in front of your PC from midnight of the day that they start their promotion and pray hard that you get cheap seats.

If only there was a better way, like calling through phone for example. Did you know that you can buy flights to USA by just calling up a travel consultant and then you can customize your travel according to your needs. How nice! :)
