Are Greeting Cards dead?

Posted by on March 16, 2008  |  No Comments

I was cleaning some of the boxes at the bottom of my cupboard the other day. There are two boxes which most probably haven’t opened since moving from Miri way back in 2004 so its mostly stuff, presents, knickknacks which I accumulated when I was in Curtin. Surprisingly, I found a huge envelop full of greeting cards – mostly Christmas and birthday cards given to me by my friends.

Nowadays people just send online greeting cards which are common and boring. But I saw this site in which you can order Photo Greeting Cards. All you have to do is choose a type of card then upload your photo and tell them how many orders you want. The card shown below is an example really adorable Christmas card of a baby.

We should start reviving the practice of sending cards through snail mail because nothing beats receiving a real card with a personalized handwritten message inside.

More Hamster Happiness

Posted by on March 15, 2008  |  No Comments

Been spending a small fortune on the hamster. He said, "Hamsters in damansara are so lucky." Lol! Got it a new cage because the current one is rusty and a bit too small for a Syrian. So I got a huge tank for Breadcrumb.

What happens in Vegas…

Posted by on March 15, 2008  |  No Comments

One of my favourite tv series is Las Vegas. It tells the story of the surveillance team in charged of maintaining securty in one of the largest resort and casino in Las Vegas – the Montecito Resort and Casino. It stars the very cute and hot Josh Duhamel who plays Danny McCoy. Yummy!

Nowadays I guess most people play online pokre instead of going to casinos. However, its quite hard to find a established and trusted US online poker websites because ever since new laws were passed, some poker rooms ban US players. However, there is a guide to the best US online poker rooms. These rooms even accept US players so you can have fun gambling in the comforts of your own home.

New theme

Posted by on March 13, 2008  |  1 Comment

Yep, changed my theme again. Modified it heavily from the original Deliciously Nature. Want to change the top header and I tried to make it smaller but couldn’t :( Don’t have my Dreamweaver on this laptop so I lack the proper tools. Editing in notepad is not an easy task.

Anyway, this is just a short note. Report if you have any problems or bugs with this new theme.

Meet Breadcrumb

Posted by on March 12, 2008  |  3 Comments

He bought me a hamster last week. I’ve been going on and on whether I want to get a hamster or not. I had two hamsters before and one of it died – kena bully by the bigger hamster – and the other one escaped. Plus they were not tame and always bite.

So i’ve been debating about it for a few months now and finally he said, “If I get one for you, you must take care of it ok?” Yey! So we went to Pet Safari in Ikano and went to look for one. I actually wanted to get a dwarf or robo hamster because they are smaller and cuter but they tend to bite and I don’t want to hamster that bites.

So yea, he got me a hamster. Its a female Golden Banded Syrian hamster. Its quite young tho, only a few weeks old. Thats why it looks so small. Im thinking of getting a new cage because the current one is kinda small for a Syrian hamster (once it grows to full size) and its rusty.

So adorable kan my new baby? *heart* *heart*

Tutorial : Create spoilers in Blogger and WordPress (Updated)

Posted by on March 11, 2008  |  54 Comments

[7 Jan 09] Update : change the code because there was some typo error caused by the formatting of my blog. Hopefully this fixes the problem

Its been a while since I wrote a tutorial yea? Here’s something about spoiler tags and how to include them into your blog. This tutorial is for both WordPress.org hosted blogs and free Blogger/Blogspot blogs.

Spoilers for WP

The WordPress plugin that im currently using to hide my spoilers is wpSpoiler. This is especially useful when I want to write reviews on movies or books and I don’t want to reveal information that might spoil it for someone else.Click here to show spoiler

How do you add this plugin to your website? Just download it from the site (click the link above), make changes in the PHP file to change the language and wallah! All you have to do is put your info between tags like this [ spoiler ] This is a hidden text [ /spoiler ] and you’re all set.

Ahh the wonders of WordPress. Thats so easy, I hear you say. But what about people who are using Blogger to host their website? Next up…

Spoilers for Blogger – Part 1 :Editing the Theme

This is for you folks who host your blogs on blogger and have blogspot.com in your blog URL. It requires a little more work and is a bit more complicated so listen up.

The New Happy Family

Posted by on March 10, 2008  |  No Comments

Most of you know that Im going back to Kota Kinabalu to attend one of my closest friend’s wedding. Mag was engaged to Tim two years ago and are finally tying the knot this year. The first of my circle of high school friends to get married. I wonder where they are going to stay tho. Currently I think they are staying at her parent’s house but it might be a bit uncomfortable after they get married because she has a younger brother and its a single story house so the close quarters might be uncomfortable.

Perhaps she should start getting interested in real estate. I think finding a house can be so tedious and stressful. There are some realtors who show people a few houses then expects you to buy and harress you until you do.

But the people at DROdio are not like that. First you search for the houses that suit the type and location that you want. Then they give you the addresses of the houses so you can drive yourself there and check it out for yourself without feeling any obligation. If you need help, then only you give them a ring, at any time you want, even midnight. Helpful yea?

I think that Mag & Tim would certainly want their own home so that they can raise their kids in a good environment. Here’s to a happy family.

Playing Unreal Tournament in class

Posted by on March 8, 2008  |  No Comments

Its been about 2 weeks since I started my final sem. Class so far has been so-so, lots of cancelled classes, one or two missed classes, some classes which lasted only 30 minutes – which is super frustating because it takes me 30-45 minutes to get there (almost 2 hours to and fro).

But the classes this year are fun (well except for that class with Mr H which is a bit boring). We’re doing Character Modeling using 3dsmax & then we’re doing Virtual Reality using Unreal Editor. Yep, the editor for that game Unreal Tournament. First half of the class was spent playing UT. Haha!

Last week, he took 2 days of work to spend time with me. Aww..so sweet I know :P Lots of laughing, talking, eating (well especially the eating), walking around, watching movies, watching DVDs and starbuck-ing (as usual). It was fun.

Speaking of fun, I’m going out with Pam and the gang tonight at Frangipani so see you guys around. Have a good weekend!

p/s: Vote? Vote? I’m underaged and unregisted. LOL!
