This is an old movie and I watched it sometime last year on DVD. So why am I writing a review? Well, GSC is currently showing this movie in its International Screens. Yeap, finally! After 2 years, we can finally watch it here. On the big screen.
As mentioned in the summary (above) its all short stories of how people are in love - it could be 2 strangers on the street, a young mother has to travel far just to take care of other people’s children to make money to care for her own, a blend of cultures, the heartbreak of a mother over the death of her son, love at first sight, etc etc. Mostly in french but also has a smattering of other languages - English, Cantonese and Spanish was the few I noticed.
I dragged Mr Distraction to watch it when we were at Midvalley the other day - there wasn’t anything else interesting to watch anyway - so he was up for it because I was so excited to see it. He fell asleep during the movie tho - from boredom or tiredness, I don’t know. Too artsy fartsy for him perhaps. Tickets were pretty cheap tho- RM8.00 as compared to normal RM10-11.
Don’t forget to watch these stories of love, in the city of love. Oui?
