How Jealous are You?

Posted by on April 19, 2008  |  3 Comments

They say jealousy is part of a healthy relationship. I’ve known girls who purposely makes their boyfriends jealous so that they feel like their bfs really do love them. I myself have tried to test the boundaries of jealousy in my relationship by asking what makes him jealous and what wont.

DiscoveryHealth has this (really) short quiz that you can take to judge how jealous you are in a relationship.

For the heterosexual men, click HERE. For the heterosexual women, click HERE. For the homosexual people, sorry there isn’t a quiz for you :( I don’t make the rules.

Anyway, this is my results:

Score = 16/100

What does your score mean?

Most people experience a certain amount of fear that their loved one could leave them for someone else. After all, these things happen, and when they do, it is usually very painful.

You, on the other hand, appear to have a complete lack of jealous feelings. If you were honest with yourself while taking the test, this means that you are extremely secure, strong, and independent. You know that if your partner ever leaves you, you will survive with your self-esteem and dignity intact.

You realize that even though you might love your partner very much, s/he is not the only fish in the sea, and that you would eventually find happiness with someone else.

His on the other hand was a 40/100. LOL! Sounds like a miss independent kinda thing huh? But that doesn’t mean I don’t love you baby :*

Personally, I don’t think that jealousy should be part of the judging of how much you love the person. If you are always so jealous and keep tabs on your other half, its not jealousy, but obsession and controlling. (jgn terasa Pam!)

Like I said earlier, a bit of jealousy is healthy in a relationship but the most important thing is that you must learn to trust each other. Agreed?

Freeze For World Earth Day

Posted by on April 17, 2008  |  15 Comments

After all that buzz created by the KL Freeze @ Pavilion the other day, Hitz.FM requested that another freeze be organized in conjunction with World Earth Day so here are the details:

Venue : Sunway Pyramid
Time : 8.00pm or 2000 hours
Date : 20th April 2008 (Sunday)

And here’s a (because some might say that its useless and waste of time) REALLY GOOD REASON to do it:

The average person globally uses 2255 Watts of power, or a little less than 23 x100 Watt light bulbs (www.wattzon.org). Thats wasting a lot of power. Now imagine that we freeze the daily activities of as many people as possible for only 5 minutes, then we’ll be saving a lot of power.
If you’re at home and can’t join us at Sunway Pyramid, no problem. Just switch of all your power at home and FREEZE, in total darkness for 5 minutes.
If you’d like to know more about conserving energy log onto www.wattzon.org
That’s where we got educated.

So for those who missed it on the 13th, this is how you do it.

  1. Go and synchronize your clocks on RandomAlphabets.com to make sure everyone freezes at the right time.
  2. Be at Sunway Pyramid well before 8pm. Go about minding your own business. Most people would be congregated at the concourse or designated main area so spread yourselves out for maximum impact.
  3. Sharp at 8pm – FREEZE!!! (Be creative with your poses, you’ll be viewing them on Youtube for ages to come)
  4. When it’s time to UN-FREEZE, if you feel like cheering for a Freeze well done by all means go ahead. If you feel like walking away casually as if time did stand still for 5 minutes and consequently puzzle the guy who was staring at you, go ahead. As YOU please.
  5. Mingle. Enjoy the rest of your evening. (As earth friendly as possible)

Blogger Business Card?

Posted by on April 17, 2008  |  2 Comments

I just remembered something that struck me as kind of interesting.

Last year, I went to the Blogger Booze in Hartamas where I met lots of new and interesting friends like the Gallivanter and Ratu Syura (who turned out to know one of my close friends too – small world).

So there was this one blogger, can’t quite remember who exactly, who was passing out his card. At first I thought it was a business card. But I was wrong, it stated his name and his blog address. And I was like “Wow! Business cards for bloggers! Cool!” Yea it was my first time seeing such a thing.

Then again, it was kind of a good idea. Blogs are a way for people to express their feelings and some bloggers like to know that people actually read their writings. So of course we go around and promote our blog link everywhere.

I usually just put it in my forum signature and ping certain sites but I guess there are also other ways of promoting your blog like using business cards (like that guy did) or buying advertising from other blogs. Perhaps you could also go out on a limb and look around for companies to print custom magnets to give out during blogger meets.

I guess it all boils down to a sense of wanting to be heard. On our blog, we want people to read and hear what we say. How would you promote your blog?

Blog back to normal

Posted by on April 17, 2008  |  2 Comments

As much as I loved the old Gossip City theme by Elena G. of DesignDisease.Com, it was time to look for a new theme because I found that the previous theme was rather slow to load. Probably because it had a lot of graphics. So I deleted lots of unused plugins and also installed wp-cache.

Which was just in time because on the very next day, one of my blog post was linked in an article by TheStarOnline and bombarded with so many hits. In fact, until today I’m still getting hits from that the star.

As you can see from the picture above. I usually get an average of 60-100 visitors a day depending on what I write about and if I ping PPS or visit lots of blogs. I had about 1k hits on the 10th because that was the post about Sufiah Yusof Video interview. Then on the 14th, I had a whopping 5000 plus hits.

Its funny because seriously I just wrote the post because I was sad I couldn’t make it and found the videos and reactions of people who were clueless about the KL Freeze very funny so I decided to share it. Even the word ‘pavilion’ in the URL is mistyped because I was sleepy when I wrote it.

I guess its back to normal visitors as of now. I hope that some of the visitors who came that day found my blog interesting and hopefully will come back again.

Back to the orginal paragraph about my blog being slow, I decided to change my theme to a lighter one with less graphics. Hopefully this time its faster yea? :D

p/s: Im going to a pre-screening of the movie The Forbidden Kingdom at 10am in the morning so more on that later! Tak jadi. long story

DKNY Delicious Night

Posted by on April 16, 2008  |  2 Comments

"Delicious Night by DKNY is finally released in stores (October 2007) and is already being billed as energetic, intriguing and seductive. This fragrance opens with pomelo, crushed ginger and a chilled blackberry martini accord. It then encompasses scents of freesia, blooming orchids, jasmine, iris, amber, incense, myrrh and patchouli.

Initial reviews rate this new fragrance in the DKNY range as “absolutely sensational!”

Hot on the heels of the other successful DKNY fragrances of Be Delicious and Red Delicious, we’re sure this will make a delicious night. The perfume comes in the usual apple shaped packaging and DKNY uses a luscious dark purple in contrast with the red and green from the other DKNY “Be” range items."

Why did I know know about this? Ahh! I’m a huge huge fan of DKNY scents. Even back when they had that squareish/hexagonal tall bottle. Love love love it! I currently have the Be Delicious (which I have had for 2 yrs now and is still smells utterly gorgeous!) – the green bottle – and love the Red Delicious which had an added raspberry like smell. And now this! According to this review, it has no apple scent which is okay for me but is more like a sexy, light oriental fragrance. Hurm sounds really interesting.

I can get someone to bring it back for me from states but she’s only coming back in June (can’t ship perfumes, against US shipping laws). I already asked her to check the price list for me and its kind of standard for DKNY perfume. Got my Be Delicious 1.7oz EDP around this price too:

0.2 oz Eau de Parfum Rollerball RM 152.90
1 oz Eau de Parfum Spray RM 170.90
1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray RM 225.90
3.4 oz Eau de Parfum Spray RM 293.90

So how???? Wanna buy it when i reaches here or just get mine in June? Only god-knows-when it’s coming but if I buy it here, I might get some freebies when I buy in a set.

Hurm…decisions decisions!

Phase by phase

Posted by on April 15, 2008  |  No Comments

Early last month I wrote about the 2nd phase of my relationship. The first is the lovely dovey phase is where you getting to know each other and everything is perfect. There’s a saying that goes, “Even our fart smells like perfume”. LOL!

The second phase is when you start to bicker because all those little things that attract you becomes rather annoying. That’s when all the annoying habits start to surface and the fart turns stinky.

Then if you passed thru that phase, there’s the third phase where you learn to tolerate each other’s habits and also learn to talk it out with each other. I would say that I’m in the 3rd phase now. We’ve settled into a comfortable state where we aren’t too dependant on each other and learn to spend time together and also apart.

And the fourth phase, well, I haven’t been thru that yet.

I guess in every relationship its bound to be like that, many phases. And in each phase there is a possibility of things turning sour. For example, you might not be able to tolerate the habits or annoying stuff of your partner. Or you’ve settled into such a comfortable state that you get too bored of each other.

Best thing to do is to talk it out with each other or with someone else like a therapist. If you live in the East bay, here is a list of marriage therapists livermore.

Just 2 cents from a love newbie :P

The waiting game

Posted by on April 14, 2008  |  3 Comments

I never liked to play the waiting game. It annoys me how some girls (or guys *jeling kat Z*) can just wait for their bf/gf to sms back then wonder every minute why they didn’t contact them. All kinds of things will go thru their mind, "Is he/she with someone else?", "He/she promised to call", "He/she must be busy at work…err..i think so" and then they’ll start overthinking it.

Well, today I was forced to play the waiting game. He had to work at a no-handphones-allowed place so he lent his hp with his sibling for the day. Made me promise not to call/text the whole day Sunday. Promised to call Monday in the wee hours of the morning.

Obviously he didn’t call la kan? If not I won’t be writing this post. Couldn’t sleep anyway so spent time texting my exbf (we parted as friends and besides he’s one of the very few Sarawakian friends I hv here in KL) and also making Brownie Biscuits (very easy biscuits. Recipe at Zestful Eats ). Baking is so theraputic for me. LOL!

Oh, back to the waiting game. So yea, Girls (and guy *jeling Z*) don’t bother waiting for that call/sms. Put your mind on other things that are more productive. Why? Because even if you overanalyze and think so much about it, it wont make him/her call you any faster. Plus, well most of the time you actually do realize and know the real reason why he/she didn’t call.

Like in my case, I’m pretty sure he fell asleep without remembering or perhaps tak larat to call. Ta-daaaa…simple.

p/s: If he/she doesn’t give a good reason. Then you pula give silent treatment lor, two can play at that game. LOL!

Videos of KL Freeze @ Pavillion

Posted by on April 13, 2008  |  31 Comments

[Newest update (17 Apr) : Join the Freeze for World Earth Day this Sunday @ Sunway Pyramid. More details here.]

A freeze is basically like a big group of people freezing at a predetermined place and time. The place is usually given at the last minute. Its a flash-mob kind of thing but is just a clean prank.

Why? Why not?

“Where human beings get together to do something in unison, without speeches or reference to their age, colour, sex, beliefs and background.”

The meeting place was at Lot 10 (yea i know coz I was in the facebook group :P and was totally planning on going) then the freeze place was Pavillion and the time was 3.35pm. Some videos of the KL Freeze in Unision after the jump.

Going Down Under

Posted by on April 12, 2008  |  No Comments

The best family outing I had was to Australia. We started off with a day trip in Brisbane before staying in our hotel in Gold Coast. What I really enjoyed was all the theme parks! We went to Wet and Wild, Dreamworld and Warner Bros MovieWorld. Dreamworld had all those rollercoasters and rides. We tried all of the rides, except one which looked too scary. But Movie World was really interesting with all the behind the scenes stuff on how they produced their movies.

But I think none of the theme parks in Australia could rival the ones in the US. I for one would love to go visit LA. There are a lot of things to do in Los Angeles. For starters, we could go to Universal Studios Hollywood. Then perhaps take a trip to Disneyland. After visiting all the nearby theme parks, then I’d go for sightseeing tours around LA visiting berry farms, Palm Springs and so many more places.

There’s a lot of websites that you can visit to get more information about where to go when you feel like having a holiday. And its not limited only to activities in Los Angeles but also tells you the Things to do in Boston or New York or even Orlando.

Not only that, if you sign up on this newsletter before 30 April, you might stand a chance to win a hand-held GPS system. Great for all those road trips and travelling.

Full of antibiotics

Posted by on April 12, 2008  |  2 Comments

I’ve been having this persistent pain in my lower jaw since 3 days ago. Ask everyone around me, I have been complaining about sakit gigi. Well, its actually in my gums. My wisdom teeth is growing and its hurting me like crazy. Very very painful especially when i swallow my saliva.

Finally went to this dentist at SS2 today. Lucky I brought the bf’s PSP (he left it in the car that day. his loss, my gain :P) so I could continue my Crisis Core while i waited for four hours. Yep, FOUR hours. My fault la juga, didn’t do appointment so had to wait for everyone to finish. Lots of ppl summore. Nine people before me. Mostly old chinese folks. There was this one uncle snoring in the waiting room. LOL!

Its been a while since I’ve been to a dentist actually. So it was a good time to check if i needed any fillings and what not. The dentist was really nice (even tho his clinic is supposed to close at 6pm but I got called in only at 7pm and thr was 2 ppl behind me). He was kinda shocked to see my gums were so swollen because of infection.

So he gave me painkillers, anti swelling medicine and antibiotics. This one, he asked me to take one when going back, then if I have no allergic reaction, take another 2 hrs later and finally one more before I sleep. Yea..pumped full of antibiotics. Not only that, Im on a soft diet for a few days coz can’t chew anyway.

My head feels heavy so im going to sleep. Have a good weekend people~
