This is a special birthday wish for my favourite girl! Happy birthday Dearest Erin! You’ve been there thru my thick and thin (including all the heartbreaks and heartaches) and I know you’ll be there forever. Here’s a heartfelt Birthday wish from me. Send my rgds to ur boy over there ;)

And also happy belated birthday to the other August babies:

The 18th was my mom’s birthday. We celebrated by going out for dinner at Victoria’s Station (i think the quality has deteriorated) with the family. We also bought her some makeup that she’s been eyeing. Happy belated mummy dearest!

[Movie Review] Babylon A.D. (no spoilers)

Posted by on August 28, 2008  |  6 Comments

Short intro of the movie : Toorop (Vin Diesel) is a mercenary surviving in the very run down land of Russia. His appearance is of one that has seen many things in his life and killed many people, hardened with scars on his face. He is then assigned to deliver a girl from a convent in Khazakstan to New York. She looks innocent but something lurks between those glassy eyes. What is her secret? And who are these people that are after her?

Have you guys seen the trailer for this? Vin Diesel with his growly voice fighting, Michelle Yeoh with her flying kicks and that awesome awesome scene with where the missle exploded around the girl (Melanie Thierry) and the flames just swirled around her without hurting her.

Well, this is yet another case of trailer-is-better-than-the-movie. In the beginning the movie was exciting, with the fighting and the shooting but after that, it was all just boring. And the ending? This is the movie that will make you go “What? That’s it?!?!”

Interesting story but the ending was such a dissapointment. Even the director himself Mathieu Kassovitz isn’t happy with the movie. He said there were too many cuts. So much so that even Vin Diesel joked “”Am I even in the movie any more, or am I on the cutting room floor?” [Source] Its sad when even the director and actors themselves aren’t too pleased with the movie.

My rating : 1.5 of 5 stars :(

Much thanks to Miu [review] for getting tickets to the premiere :) and even getting one extra for me at the very last minute. Hurley [review] and UncleFrog [review] was there tho I didn’t see them (and uncle sombong dowan to tegur me :().

Oh yea, did u guys notice the RELA ppl patrolling the cinema? Hoping to catch some people recording I think. Pls, who would want to show a cam version of such a lousy show.

[Movie Review] Wall-E

Posted by on August 26, 2008  |  3 Comments

I don’t know what it took sooo long for me to write a review about this movie. Probably coz I got lazy. LOL!

Anyway, Wall-E is the story about a lonely robot left on earth to compress rubbish and nicely stack them up. His other robot pals have died (?) and his only companion is a little cockroach. One day, a new robot landed on earth on her quest to find something that will secure the future of the planet. She is then transported back to space and Wall-E chases after her.

The people at Pixar did it again! This movie is sooo adorable and touching and cute! Its amazing how such a deep felt movie can be made with a very minimal dialog. The animation is superb.

Basically this movie is so great that I actually watched it THREE times. Yes! Three times – twice in the cinema, no less. So yea, go watch it!

Rating : 5 of 5 stars

My freelancing job

Posted by on August 26, 2008  |  No Comments

I recently got my first freelancing job. I’m so excited with it. The ‘client’ – I wouldn’t really call her a client since she’s more like a friend – is such a joy to work with. Very hassle free. Best part is, she already has her own hosting and domain so all I have to do is set up the design.

No need to explain all the different web hosts available since there are so many and its hard to find the most suitable one. Try googling hosting and you’ll get so many hits that you get confused. The most important thing is getting a reliable hosting so do choose carefully.

Anyway, am looking forward to completing the job in these few weeks. Watch out for the launching soon! :D

[Movie Review ] La Lingerie

Posted by on August 25, 2008  |  2 Comments

Lingerie is like a secret deep in a woman’s heart,
It fears to be revealed yet craves to be understood

Its very rare that I watch a chinese movie – especially in the cinema. The ones I’ve watched before are epic type movies about wars and stuff. However, yesterday I was at Times Square with a friend of mine and he said we should watch this.

La Lingerie is a Cantonese movie – it’s also called ???? or Noi Yee Siu Nu (I hope I got the writing correct coz I just copied it from another site – which is brought by the same director for the movie La Brassiere (what is this director’s obsession with underwear?).

Its about Miu (Stephy Tang) who has really really gorgeous dark red hair (should I dye my hair dark red? I did before and it was rather nice) who is looking for a job as a lingerie designer. She then gets a job as a “lingerie researcher” and has to write a report on bra and panties.

This story revolves around lingerie (duh!) but its mainly the story about Miu and four other woman in their quest for love and relationships. Its a light and hilarious movie with some romantic parts thrown in.

You can watch the trailer here. Oh, oh! another reason why you must watch this movie is because of the yummylicious Andy On Chi Kit who takes of his shirt during a sweaty basketball game. Ohh.i LIKE!!! Here’s a random pic of him:

vincci_shoe

Remember these? Well, maybe not. I tried it on once upon a time and thought it looked nice. For a while I contemplated to buy it. For a while I contemplated to let you buy it for me. I vaguely remember explaining the differences between wedges and heels to you. But then I thought, “nah, it was a size too small for me. plus many other opportunities for you to buy me shoes in the future.” Or so I thought.

Fast forward a few months later, same pair of shoes. Same dilemma, with an added dash of memories (which I honestly totally forgot about). Which also brought many questions – how are you? do you think of me? should I even think of you? Why cant we be friends? – that crowded my head. Decisions, decisions.

Needless to say, I bought it.

Why?

Because it was *the* perfect size.

Because life is falling in place for me now. Because I graduated – when I had made preparations in anticipation that i would fail. Because at the point that I was worried I was unqualified to work in my field, a HUGE door of opportunity opened for me. Because I met new people, made new friends.

Because I am now…………..HAPPY :)

On a totally related note, I bought these gorgeous pumps from Neo @ Ikano which sells big size shoes – even size 12 – at reasonable prices (I bought mine for RM70 and it looks like leather shoes quality). Then i went to One Utama and bought these red heels frm vincci for RM35. Original price is RM109 then they had a 70% discount. How could I resist?

Annoying Calls?

Posted by on August 20, 2008  |  1 Comment

Have u ever got those annoying phonecalls or SMSes from unknown people? I did get an SMS from this guy who asked “How are you?”. Apparently he’s some guy from Negeri Sembilan. I told him that he got the wrong number and that I was someone else. But that person didn’t believe me and insisted that I was lying to him.

I hate this kind of callers. However there is a way to do reverse phone directory and trace back the numbers that have been disturbing you or unknown miscalls.

Anyway, I finally got my guy bf to pick up one of his calls and tell him off in a polite way.

[Download] Farm Frenzy 2

Posted by on August 18, 2008  |  12 Comments

Sometime ago, i posted a link to download Farm Frenzy – an addictive game with farm animals like chickens, cows, pigs, dogs, cats and you have to feed them and collect products for profit.

A new version is out – Farm Frenzy 2.

There’s nothing wrong with indulging in a little “fowl play” when it’s Farm Frenzy 2, the all-new sequel to the smash hit of 2007! The fun never stops as you grow grass, feed chickens, collect eggs and take your produce to market. From there, you’ll spend the money you earn on additional buildings that produce exciting new products, including delicious steaks, tasty cakes and quaint down home apparel.

You’ve got to stay on your sun-kissed toes, though, to keep the bears from tearing up your farm. Thankfully, dogs are on hand to help drive them away! With tons of levels to complete, plenty of hidden gags to find and an empty shelf begging to be filled with trophies for outstanding achievements, Farm Frenzy 2 will keep you busy throughout the dog days of summer and long after the harvest!

The weekend’s here!

Posted by on August 15, 2008  |  1 Comment

Yey! The weekend is here! I’m currently packing to go to PD for a friend’s wedding and will only be coming back on Saturday. Sunday is another whirlwind of activities with a fren’s kenduri in the afternoon and Cass’ birthday party at night.

I am utterly broke so I’m selling off some of my things that have been lying around and unused such as blank DVDs (new and sealed), some stuffed toys, memory card adaptors, charger, etc etc.

Take a look >> http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/767105

Some of the items I’m not sure where I got it from. Hopefully I didn’t accidently sell off a gift that someone gave me. LOL!

(if I did, sorry ya)
