As I sit in my room in front of the PC nibbling of remnants of an orange drenched cake (one of my favourite cakes to bake) with chocolate frosting (made by Betty Crocker to save time), I am feeling utterly blessed to have such great friends.

Friends who would plan, organize and most importantly attend a BBQ party that was put together at the very last minute (less than 24 hrs). Friends who would take the LRT to and fro from my place just to come. Friends with whom I can have a BBQ dinner with lamb, chicken wings, sausages, fishballs mash potatoes and mee hoon. Friends which I can clink glasses of JD coke and white chardonnay with. Friends to play cho tai di with. Friends who lepak at my place till 4am and even help clean up.

It was raining again today in KL. Not those cloudy sad rainy days, but those sunny-but-the-rain-is-pouring-down kind of days. Something in between.

The course so far has been interesting. The theory part is complete and now we’re working on our projects. I am working on my project individually – just the way I like it. What I hate is the fact that we don’t have Internet access to chat do research on the particular codes/methods because the theory taught was just the basics.

My colleagues (cewah! actually they’re more like my coursemates) are a really fun bunch. Only five of us and so we bonded well. I got two of the guys addicted to Yahoo! Pool. Haha!

I’m seriously still not used to the early mornings. I hardly sleep at all at night (its 5.30am and I can’t sleep) but I’m so tired the whole day in the office. I leave the house around 7am and get back around 5-6pm. Then I take a nap which then results in me unable to sleep at night. Messed up, I know.

I got some extra money in hand so I decided to pay off my phone bill debts. Was a bit behind in some payment, totally my fault for overspending. I forgot to lower the credit limit after they automatically increased it to RM600 when i registered an additional line for a friend. So yea, paid everything off and lowered the limit to 200.

Am still working on one of my website projects. There’s also another flash project I’m supposed to do which promises a high pay but I think I’ll focus on one thing at a time first. The flash thingy is after raya anyway.

I have been expanding my circle of friends. I have more chinese friends now. LOL! Some might find it weird but previously, about 95% of my friends in KL are non-chinese. Today hung out with a group of friends to eat crabs at Puchong. Was quite cheap.

Mag’s coming down today. God I miss her! I had so much fun in KK thanks to her. Preparing for the wedding and stuff. She’s bringing her wedding vid and photos to pass to me. I can’t wait to see them (and her of course).

Now I just can’t wait for the weekend so that I can sleep in. haha!

The Meaning of Life

Everyone is always looking for answers to the big question, “What is the meaning of life?” Some turn to science, some turn to religion, others turn to knowledge. For me, its not so much the MEANING of life, but the LIVING of that life that you have.

Its how you choose to live it: utilizing it to the fullest – being happy, learning new things everyday and achieving your goals/ambitions – or just let life pass you by – by moping around, emo-ing and taking things for granted.

I always believe that the secret to happiness in life is to learn to love life. That means learning to love yourself and all that is around you. This message was given to me some months back and till now I keep it in my phone and feel encourage when I read it.

I hope it does the same for you to :)

slow laptop & php course

Yesterday, I thought it was kinda weird why it took ages for me to open programs -even Microsoft Word and Firefox. Then I took a peek at the specs. Notice the ram? Less than 200MB RAM. I dont even dare to open lots of tabs or programs.

Its not my laptop (thank god!). Its a borrowed laptop from the place where I’m taking my course. they have wifi here too! I brought my laptop today but we were not in the same room as yesterday, in fact, we’re on a totally different floor so no wifi. boo :(

I slept kinda early last nite, around 10pm because Im taking the LRT to and from KLCC starting today. Have to leave the house by 6.30am grrrr….I’m really not a morning person. And I still feel sleepy now :( Can’t wait for lunch!

Oh oh, i got my project title for my PHP course already. Looks kinda simple concept but the coding is going to be a bit tough I think. *dies* Ok la…time to go back to work

Bazaar Ramadhan Wangsamaju

Have you noticed something lately? Its been a week since puasa and everyone, I mean EVERYONE is talking about food. And a day-to-day diary at that. Eg: “Today I ate A for berbuka, yesterday I ate B for berbuka”

And I don’t blame them. The best part I like about puasa (besides the hari raya open house) is the bazaar ramadhan. On the first or second day of puasa (I can’t remember exactly when), I was in KL with a friend and we didn’t know where to go for dinner so we decided to go to a nearby bazaar.

This bazaar is the one in Wangsamaju. You can see the Jusco in the distance right? The stalls stretch from Jusco all the way to the other end (beyond the right of the photo). I wasn’t really impressed with the selections there. It seems like they were basically selling the same thing. Not much variety. We bought:

• kuih pelita – it was was a bit runny (watery) but tasted nice and not too sweet.
• roti john – this is my first time eating a meat-less roti john. I still prefer mine with meat
• putu piring – not nice. The one in TTDI is still the best ever
• Dadih coklat – something like chocolate pudding but firmer like jelly
• Mee goreng – my fren bought this, I don’t really fancy mee goreng
• Soya bean – with brown sugar syrup. I like :D
• Did I miss out anything?

Verdict, food just so-so. No much variety. I give it a rating of 3 of 5 stars :/

Cerita Kongkek di KLCC

As you know (or perhaps you don’t know because you didn’t read my previous posts), I’m taking this PHP and MySQL course in KLCC. Yea I know some of you are like “What? PHP? You can learn that yourself la” but hey, its free (sponsored by MDeC and Petronas eLearning) and they’ll even pay for the Zend Cert (which costs something like 120USD). Its everyday from Monday-Friday, 8am to 4pm.

Anyway, for my other non-technical friends, PHP is (this is my simple explaination) a programming language used for the web. Basically any site that has a database (eg, some form of login) uses PHP. Its like giving instructions.

So there i was, sleepy in the morning (people who are close to me know that I’m not a morning person) and the guy was teaching about it.

“Kongkek this one,” he said and my eyes instantly became bigger. I was thinking, What?!?! then he mentioned it again and again and again. I looked around me and no one seem to have noticed anything odd.

Then I glanced over and saw that the gal next to me was writing her notes and typed it as CONCATE. And I was like “Oooooooo.” When you want to give two instructions together, you hv to concate it, meaning combine it together.

Can’t blame me for mis-hearing it right? :P

Another accident with my Viva :(

Yes people, I got into another accident. This time I swear its not my fault! Someone hit the back of my car. I actually had2 TTs (Teh Tarik sessions) to go to yesterday. First one was in PJ at 8.30pm and ironically it was with a group of Vivarians. Then another was meeting some frens in SS2 after that.

So it was around 8.15pm and I was driving near Riana Green (somewhere near Tropicana) traffic light. The light turned green then a taxi suddenly came from the right side, the car in front suddenly stopped and I also suddenly stopped. Manage to miss that car in front.

Then i looked into my rearview mirror and saw this iswara coming towards me quite fast and my first thought was “she’s so going to hit me” right before the impact happened.

I parked at the side and came out of my car and my heart dropped when I saw this:

What a relief when i turned around and saw that my car had minor damage. The back was dented and had scratches at the bumper. the bumper was also mis-aligned with the body.

My parents came, about 3 tow guys came, then her mechanic came and we all went to the police station. Finally finished at around midnight. Was tired and hungry by that time because I was out since 7.00am and havent gone home yet.

So yea, my wheels are in the workshop for a week or so. Sad :(

Internet at home has been down for a few days. The internet here is sub-par and keeps disconnecting. I just spent 15 mins of my 1-hr long lunch time to write a post and when I pressed Publish, the internet was down and my post is lost.

I ish not happy – and hungry and sleepy :(
