Working life so far

Dec 30th, 2008

Working life so far has been rather interesting. It takes me around 1 hr to get there and 1.5-2 hours to get back (depending on what time i leave the office).

Lots of people say the best part about working is that you get your own income. Well yea, but with an income comes more responsibility – especially if u’re the eldest.

So the parents and I sat down the other day and kira-kira. I offered to pay the loan for my car in exchange for them paying for my student loan. Actually both is roughly the same total amount but I preferred to pay for the car

Here’s the breakdown of the rough estimate:

Toll = RM6.50 a day = RM180
Petrol = RM 240 (includes those times when i terpesong to other places)
Car loan = RM500
Total = RM920

Merry Christmas Everyone!

A year has gone by so fast hasn’t it. Its Christmas time again. This year I dont really feel the Christmas spirit because i dont really feel well and I still hv to work full day yesterday and tomorrow plus half day on Saturday.

Anyway, instead of posting the really cute flash animation like I did for the past two years, here’s Taylor Swift’s version of “Santa Baby”

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Santa Baby – Taylor Swift
Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me
I’ve been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue
I’ll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the fun I’ve missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven’t kissed
Next year I could be oh so good
If you’d check off my Christmas list
Boo doo bee doo

Santa honey, I wanna yacht and really that’s
Not a lot
I’ve been an angel all year
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa cutie, there’s one thing I really do need, the deed
To a platinum mine
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, I’m filling my stocking with a duplex, and checks
Sign your ‘X’ on the line
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany’s
I really do believe in you
Let’s see if you believe in me
Boo doo bee doo

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring
I don’t mean a phone
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight

My new beauty blog

Dec 18th, 2008

I’ve started a new beauty blog some time ago with my sister. We haven’t really actively posted on it yet. But we’re going to write reviews on products – such as Acne Complex, shampoo, creams – that we’ve used. I think there’s not enough places to read reviews about products in Malaysia. Most of the websites I’ve seen in overseas which is not the same due to our asian skintype and environment.

My sister has oily, acne prone skin which is sensitive to some products while I have combination skin which can generally take most products. I think its a good mix :D

Speaking of acne, I was walking around in Ikano Shopping Center and saw that they have this center for skincare. Particularly for Murad Acne treatment or something. The facial was really cheap, perhaps I’d ask my sister to try it out and we can review it on our beauty blog. We’ll see

Is Debt Consolidation a good idea?

Dec 17th, 2008

Debt consolidation (according to wikipedia) is taking out one loan to pay off many others. This is so that you can secure a lower interest rate, secure a fixed interest rate or for the convenience of servicing only one loan.

I had a guy friend who was doing that. When he explained it to me, I didn’t get it at first. He said he took one loan to pay off his study loan, credit card debt and I think some smaller debts.

Then when I think about it, isn’t it better to just focus on one loan? You can then settle all your debts (and avoid high interest rates) and just pay back one loan. So you can do your budgeting easily.

Of course the best way is to avoid debt in the first place but this is one solution to help your financial problems.
