Powered by Windows 7 Ultimate

Posted by on September 30, 2009  |  7 Comments

Last week, before I went for my weekend trip to Melaka, boss passed me a promo disc of Windows 7 Ultimate. Apparently our company is somehow involved with the launching – tho I’m not really sure in what way (directly or indirectly) so please don’t ask me about that.

Anyway, after the weekend trip and getting sick for the past two days, I finally managed to reformat my C Drive. I have 3 partitions on my HD, the system file being a C drive where i install some of my software. Important files are in other partitions.

After inserting the DVD, it was easy and fast to click reformat for the C Drive and install Win7. After waiting for a bit (and a few auto-restarts), everything was fully installed. What I was surprised was the driver for my wifi (its a DLink) was auto installed so I could instantly connect to the Internet after changing the WEP settings.

I haven’t installed OpenOffice, Adobe software or games yet but so far so good. Its a lot faster than Vista (esp during startup). I’m using Vista Ultimate in the office but my home rig was previously using Win XP SP3.

Will update more on Windows 7 if i find anything interesting. Any tips for the Win7 newbie? Pls add in the comments :D

Trying out Google Sketchup

Posted by on September 28, 2009  |  9 Comments

I saw Azmanishak’s post about ‘Buat Perabut Rumah‘ using Google Sketchup and thought I’d give it a try. Its been a while since I used any 3d software. Last being 3D Studio Max back in college.

So I downloaded Google SketchUp 7 (its FREE!) and watched some training vids before starting. Basically, it has functions such as extrude (pull out, pull in), move, rotate, scale and resize.

So after playing with it and getting use to it for about an hr, i came up with this rough 3d image of my room. Its incomplete. So far i just finished the bed, table, documents cabinet and the curtains.

This is how my actual room looks like. Sorry about the mess. Hehe! Also instead of the laundry basket under the table, i have a file cabinet.

What do you think? Getting there ey? :P

birthday-cake

Its a quiet night – seeing that my close friends are mostly back in their kampung- and I quite okay with it. Or maybe I’m just getting mellow. At any case, it’s been an awesome twenty three years so far :D

P/s: I’ll be going to Melaka over the weekend. So catch up with me on my twitter – http://www.twitter.com/icednyior :)

My broken poken :(

Posted by on September 22, 2009  |  No Comments

This is my Martian Poken. Read what is a poken HERE.

I had some problems with my poken lately, after i dropped it. To be specific, I’ve only tried poken-ing with my fren (tekong to be exact). And after pokening, i get a red glow. pressing it a few times caused it to blink red and yellow. A few weeks later I tried pokening with that friend of mine again but it still glowed red. And also his contact didnt appear when i plug in the poken to my computer and login to my account. But it did get detected on when i plug it into my USB.

After some emails back and forth and trying a few things : (1) removing the battery and putting it back (2) pokening with someone else , they said they can refund my poken for free. All I have to do is to mail the poken hand to Switzerland, and I get to choose new designs for the head. Woo!

Now, lets just see how much it’ll cost to post it from Malaysia to Switzerland

My first pair of Crocs – Cabana

Posted by on September 21, 2009  |  1 Comment

Woot! Just bought my first pair of Crocs. No, not those cheese hole slippers, but the Cabana. I first saw it online and I’ve been looking for it in Crocs 1 Utama and IOI Mall but somehow they didn’t have this model. I finally saw it at Parkson 1 Utama :D and grabbed a pair today.

The CrocsT Cabana, combining the comfort of our Wake flip flop and the style of our wedges. The Cabana is the perfect wedge sandal, with ridged footbeds for comfort and a satin coated PU strap for a comfortable fit. If you are looking for a unique sandal, the Cabana wedge is the perfect fit.

.innovative crocs wedge inspired by a traditional summer thong
.wedge is sculpted for a sleeker overall look
.footbed has flex inspired cushioning for exaggerated comfort
.thong upper is made up in satin coated PU
.fun color pop at toe post
.approximate heel height is 3 inches

Its super comfy tho kinda pricy. Oh well, lets hope that this doesn’t putus as easily as my other slippers/sandals.

My digital photos are here (& how to get yours for free!)

Posted by on September 16, 2009  |  4 Comments

A few days ago, I wrote this post titled [Tutorial] Print Digital Photos online with EOE that showed you a step by step method on how to get your digital photos printed online at EOE’s website and sent straight to your doorstep.

eoe_online2 eoe_online1

A few days after I have made my order, I got my package. Its a nicely wrapped 50pcs of 4R photos and 2 pcs of 8R photos. As you can see, I printed a lot of my graduation photos – since they were all digital photos and I wanted a hard copy.

Each 4R print only costs RM0.30 and each 8R photos is RM6 each. Also you get free delivery when you make orders above RM35. Basically you can just collect all your digital photos from your friends and print about RM120 pcs to get free delivery.

So, How to get yours free?

If you are a Blogger, EOE online invites you to review and write about their service. In return, you will get to print some photos for FREE. Yes you heard me, FREE. They will even post it your your house. Awesome right? I wish more companies did this

Check out : www.EOE.com.my to find out more :D
