Money’s not good enough for myNews Bangsar

I work somewhere nearby the Bangsar LRT and usually eat around that area. I needed to withdraw money so I took the escalator upstairs with a colleague to the Bangsar LRT because there’s a Maybank ATM. I owed her some money so I need to break my RM50s I just withdrew.

So around 3.30pm, I went to the myNews kiosk to buy something to break the note. The cashier was a male of mixed descent who was holding a bunch of notes in his hand. I’m not too sure but maybe he was sorting money in the till.

I picked a roll of mentos berry and gave to the cashier. He punched it in and it came up to RM1.50 and I took out my RM50. He looked and the note and made an annoyed face, clearly displeased with the amount of the note. I said “I need the change” and he said “Satu lima” with the same displeased face and refused to even take my note.

I was disgusted and appalled by his behaviour so I said “tak apa!” and my colleauge and I instantly walked out of the shop. So I walked to the 7-Eleven located downstairs.

I bought a Mentos Berry & Twister Apple which totaled up to RM 3.20 and gave my RM50 note & 20 cents to the cashier. It was also a male cashier. He didn’t have sufficient amount in the till to give me my change so he reached under the counter and took out a new roll of RM10s and gave me my change.

I came back into the office and tweet-ed about it and surprisingly, two of my twitter friends had the same experience. (click to see the direct tweets)

Apparently the service in myNews Bangsar LRT is lousy and I doubt I would be going there again.

Edit : I have sent an email to the email address located on their site to complain about this matter. We’ll see the response

Confirmed : Beyonce’s Kuala Lumpur Concert has been POSTPONED not cancelled

I wrote about earlier rumours but now its officially confirmed that Beyonce’s concert this 25th October 2009 has been POSTPONED to a future date. Read the official statement from Marctesia, the co-organizers of the event.

NEWS RELEASE

Kuala Lumpur, 20 October 2009 – The Organisers regret to inform you that Beyonce “I am.” concert originally scheduled on Sunday, 25 October 2009 at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur has been postponed to a future date, to be announced shortly.
The official postponement press statement by Beyonce’s Artiste Management, Music World will be released by this week. The postponement is solely decision of the Artiste and has nothing to do with other external reasons.

The Organisers sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Fans whom have purchased tickets but can’t wait for the announcement of the new date, may proceed to refund starting from 26 October 2009 to 14 November 2009 at Ticket Axcess head office in PJ. For more details on ticket refund, please contact official ticketing agent Axcess hotline at 03 7711 5000 or log on www.axcess.com.my

Rumour : Beyonce’s concert in Malaysia cancelled? (Update: Postponed!)

There’s rumours going around in Twitter that Beyonce’s Malaysian concert on October 25th, 2009 might be cancelled. She cancelled her planned concert in 2007 following protest threats by Malaysia’s opposition Islamic party (source).

Most people heard it from someone (an unidentified source, of course) that the Maxis Marketing Manager said it might be cancelled and most likely to be announced tomorrow.

Also, on her site http://www.beyonceonline.com/my/events there’s no event listing of her Malaysian concert. Hurm..

Lets see what happens tomorrow.

I personally would be pissed if its cancelled because I turned down an accommodation sponsored trip to a resort in Redang for 4 days 3 nights to review an event & the resort. :’(

Update I :  6.15pm 19 October
A tweet from maxis’s official twitter account @maxiscomms has stated that Beyonce’s Concert is not cancelled but postponed. Below is the tweet. Am still waiting for an official statement tho.

Semalam terbaca kat twitter yang Oh!Media Network – team/pemilik disebalik Oh! Artis, Oh! Cun, Oh! Tweet, Oh! Tidak & Scukz – membangunkan satu lagi website. Siapa yg tak kenal dengan website Oh! Artis yg penuh dengan gossip2 artis berserta gambar-gambar yang didapati dari pelbagai sources demi mengkukuhkan lagi gossip2 tersebut.

Kini muncul pula website bertajuk Oh! Islam yang menurut page ‘Kami’ = “Allah SWT telah menggerakkan hati kami untuk membangunkan web berunsur ilmiah seperti ini….Semoga kewujudan website ini memberi manfaat dan syafaat kepada semua yang membacanya.”

Tak lama lepas tu, Khai pon menge-tweet yg dia telah menulis satu post utk menerangkan jawapan kepada persoalan kami dalam blognya – “Bermulanya satu anjakkan paradigma Oh Islam”

Summary: Khai menerangkan bahawa dia telah mendapat “nur” utk bangunkan Oh!Islam dan terdapat dua sebab kenapa Oh! Artis (OA) tak ditutup:

1. Team disebalik OA, hosting yg disponsor & client pengiklanan yg ramai

2. OA di katakan web gossip yg tak berunsurkan fitnah kerana artikel OA berkualiti + ada gambar sbb bukti.

Khai juga berkata bahawa article OA akan lebih berisi dan istiqamah & tiada lagi gambar artis berbikini.

So, apa pendapat awak?

Komen: Sebenarnya, rasa agak dissapointed dengan komen2 pembaca Khai di mana soalan yang simple, curious dan honest dikatakan “menjatuhkan”, “kondem tapi tak pandai buat”, “susah nak tgk melayu tak dengki melayu”.

Khai sendiri pon tak cakap mcm tu, malah memberi explaination dengan baik dan clear dan aku accept je penerangan dia.

Yang ko org plak, sibuk cakap memacam. lol! kelakar la weh!
