Tutorial : Use a WordPress blog to backup your Twitter tweets

Okay, first you will have to setup a new wordpress blog or you can use your existing one. In this tutorial, i set up a new wordpress blog at TwitterBackup to separate my tweets from my blog posts.

If you’re using a separate blog for your twitter posts first thing you need to do is go to the Settings > Discussion and Uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles”. This is so that people can’t comment on your posts.

Resolutions for 2010

I don’t really like to make resolutions for new year because then I won’t have to break any resolutions. hehe! But next year I’m planning to save some money because of all the travelling I’m planning to do.

Paypal Blogger Dinner & South East Asia based site – Paypal Unbound

Well I couldn’t make it to the Paypal PowerUp event on Saturday (not that there was any space anyway, read the whole fiasco/drama here), so the guys over at Text100 invited me to a Paypal Blogger’s dinner on the 10th of December at Dubrovnik Restaurant, Solaris. It was a small affair – dinner with the bloggers and people from Paypal to discussion features and other issues.

I was a tad late because I had to rush from work and Fridays are quite difficult for me to escape early. Manage to find the place thanks to Nahri frm Text100’s directions. But I came just in time before anything started. Was introduced to Mr Mario Shiliashki, the GM of Paypal SEA, Geert Desager, Senior Marketing Manager and Amy, Head of Cross Border Asia.

Paypal PowerUp Event Rude Email. WTF!

If you’re a paypal user in Malaysia, you would have been happy to know earlier this year that you could link your Maybank debit card to your Paypal account. In fact, I wrote a tutorial (click here to read) that proved useful for quite a lot of people.

A few months back, you must have been even happier to find out that you could withdraw Paypal funds to your Malaysian bank account for a minimal fee if its under RM400 and free if its over RM400.

A few days ago, you might felt surprised when you received the email below from Paypal inviting you to RSVP to the Paypal PowerUp Event – (afaik) the first ever event Paypal has organized for Malaysia. Finally Paypal has decided to acknowledge its Malaysian users – majority of which are bloggers/people who make money online.

My thoughts : TV3 did a great job in utilizing social media in their site with facebook and twitter. They even set up a twitter wall showing all tweets hashtaged with #ask09. Not to mention a live feed on their microsite. Even tho I didn’t watch, but I thought the idea was awesome.

One question tho, why is the twitter hashtag #ask09 and not #as09? Is it because it sounds like ASS? Too controversial?
