In defence of the staff in charge, he said that the two of them previously had been attacked and beaten up by assailants while on duty at the station.

Abdul Kaiyum said that BHP would

Updates 2 : Bernama ran an article about the accident already

Woman Burnt To Death In Three-vehicle Accident

KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (Bernama) — A woman was burnt to death in her Myvi car in an early morning accident in Jalan Cheras after another vehicle from the opposite side of the road skidded and hit her car which was then rammed by a three-tonne lorry carrying vegetables.

The accident happened near the Cheras velodrome at 3.30am and police are trying to identify the dead woman from the car registration number.

“From the physical appearance, this accident involves a woman driver,” Kuala Lumpur traffic police investigation officer DSP Abdullah Roning told Bernama.

Abdullah said a Toyota Vios believed to have been driven fast by a 33-year-old man skidded and veered onto the opposite side of the road.

It hit the Myvi car and crashed onto a lamp post, badly injuring both the driver and his female companion.

“The first accident made the Myvi spin a few times and it was hit by a three-tonne vegetable lorry from behind and burst into flames,” he said.

The woman driver, however, was unable to escape and was trapped in her seat and burnt to death.

The lorry driver and his attendant were unhurt.

The injured couple were sent to the nearby Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia medical centre. The remains of the woman were also sent there.

Updates : The authorities have verified that there was an accident involving three cars. Will update when I know more later

It was a freak accident involving a lorry, a Vios and a Myvi. According to witness, Akina Teo in his Facebook note, the Myvi was totally sardined and a girl was trapped inside. He saw a spark of fire at the engine bay so he drove to the nearest BHP to get a fire extinguisher from the attendants who were behind the locked kiosk/counter. They refused to lend him the fire extinguisher and even threatened to report the guy.

He returned back to the scene and the car was totally burnt and the poor girl was burnt alive inside. Read his full account in the spoiler:

I saw another blog post that supposedly had the photos of accident and it is terrible. Credits to ondscene (though I dont really like the heavily religious theme of the post) and the photos are in the spoiler.

  2. budlee says:

wilson: if you work at a petrol station and was assaulted by robbers before, would you open the doors again to somenone suspicious?

  3. Boey says:

bloody hell, any refuelling station should have fire retardant and extinguishers AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES as fire is a constant potential hazard.
    NO EXCUSES.
It’s for the same reason that airliners carries cabin crews as safety officers in flights. What? You’re going to not have cabin crews in flight just because dudes are staring at them?

    BHP is stupid. That’s plain

  6. armanio says:

What if I set the station on fire at that time, would they come out with the Fire extinguishers ??

Would they let their station burn, coz they are worried of being robbed ? Every station MUST have the Fire extinguishers next to each pump.

Its a fire hazard place no excuses ! They have CCTV recordings, if anyone steals it or abuse it, they can always report to the police !

Govt should make a clear ruling and BHP need to apologies and take actions for the future !

They say Teo was not “acting calmly” STUPID BAFOONS ! If you see someone who nears death and trying to help, how would you react ? Calm ?

  7. Jonathan says:

I agree with budlee, Boey, and pak belalang.

I love how you other guys are focusing on the incident at BHP only when clearly it was the other driver’s fault. Do remember also that the fire extinguisher MIGHT have been able to save her.

“What if I set the station on fire at that time, would they come out with the Fire extinguishers ??”
    - Of course they would. But what has that gotta do with the problem?

“Its a fire hazard place no excuses ! They have CCTV recordings, if anyone steals it or abuse it, they can always report to the police !”
    - Yes, I agree it’s a fire hazard to NOT place the fire extinguishers at an accessible area but it’s not about being able to make a report to the police if someone steals them. It’s the fact that most Malaysian employers are abusive towards their employees. Employees like kiosk attendants are afraid of their employers.

This is a result of reckless driving, end of story.

My condolences go out to Florina’s family and friends. Sorry for their loss.

  8. Patrick says:

FUCK IT larr….its too late to said anything at this point as wat has happened already happened and we cant change the pass…. BHP & the reckless driver needs to be responsible regarding of this matter and a single apologize will not be enough to solve the problem and my deepest condolences to Florida’s family & friends. Am so sorry to hear this story and sorry for their loss.
