Get Miyazaki’s last film “The Wind Rises” in Malaysia at AniManGaki 2014

Have you heard of Miyazaki and/or Studio Ghibli (株式会社スタジオジブリ Kabushiki-gaisha Sutajio Jiburi)? The world was shocked by news of its closure (later clarified as a hiatus) when its famous co-founder Hayao Miyazaki announced his retirement.

Even if you are not familiar with them, you would have definitely heard of the animated films titled ‘Howls Moving Castle’, ‘My Neighbour Totoro’ and ‘Spirited Away’ the later which is one of the first non-English language films to win an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Recipe : Nando’s Peri Peri Sauce & Yogurt Roast Chicken

Nando’s have always been very  generous in inviting me to events and giving me bottles of Peri-Peri sauce. My favourite is Garlic as Hot is a bit too spicy for me. So, I thought to use some of the extra Hot Peri-Peri sauce to make a chicken marinade.

Well to be fair, this isn’t a recipe per say, just do everything based on your taste/preference and of course, depending on the amount of chicken you have. The yogurt here works a bit like a meat tenderizer so you get tender chicken meat – or so I like to think.

Firstly you need to defrost the raw chicken (if its frozen) and trim access fat. Any piece/cut would do but here I used chicken thighs, which is my favourite. Breasts would be a healthier option I think, just make sure to check it so its not over cooked (and dry).

Book Review: The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I wanted so very much to like this book after hearing all about it and after being highly recommended by friends. It was however (and here I’m bracing for hate from fans) a bit predictable, I felt. The story reminds one of romantic movies where the girl who thinks shes dorky and full of flaws meets the hot, gorgeous male interest and they magically fall in love at first sight. The characters felt too unreal, their situations so impossibly perfectly falling into place and that side story about Peter Van Houten lent nothing to the whole, overall storyline.

It is however a tear-jerker. Yes, bring the tissues. But I was dissapointed.
