Day 5 : I Want to go Sky Diving!

Posted by on June 5, 2011  |  2 Comments

In my About Me page, I have a list of things I want to do before I die. One of those things is to go Sky Diving.

To be honest, I have this slight fear of heights. Even standing on the 4-5th floor of a shopping mall makes my feet tingle when I look down. However contrary to this fear, I like riding on roller coasters. I guess its my way of beating this fear.

I wonder if we can do it here in Malaysia though. Has anyone done it before?

Day 3 : The Perfect First Date

Posted by on June 4, 2011  |  1 Comment

Hurm. My perfect first date wouldn’t have to be in the most expensive of restaurants, in the most lavish of ways. It can be a simple dinner or lunch but most importantly, the conversation has to be good. I always like a guy who can carry a conversation. He doesn’t have to have similar interests and thinking as I don’t like people who are like a puppy dog, following the lady’s every move and whim.

But yea, in short. A good meal and good conversation would be perfection. <3

p/s: take note future suitors/interested people/crushes. Hehe!

Day 2 : My Favourite Movie

Posted by on June 2, 2011  |  1 Comment

Its only day 2 and I’m already late in my 30 Things in 30 Days Challenge. Sorry I was sick :(

Anyway, today. I’ve always been a big fan of theatrical style musicals such as Moulin Rouge, Chicago and such. My current favourite movie is Nine (2009).

nine-movie-poster-1

Nine is a movie adapted from theater. Its a bit brooding and dark but sexy. It tells of a movie director and how four different women – his muse, his wife, his protégé, his mistress, his mom and a prostitute from his childhood – have influenced his thoughts and his style of directing/writing.

Its an entertaining movie and interesting to see how the different phases in his life melds together. Go watch it!

Day 1 : Your Favorite Song

Posted by on June 1, 2011  |  2 Comments

Hmm. I don’t really have a favourite song. My music collection is a very huge variety from classics to love songs to alternative rock. However I have a song that I do like to listen to. Its Ungu’s Cinta Dalam Hati. I really like Indonesian music videos. Its usually the perfect storyline thought out to match the song.

Ungu – Cinta Dalam Hati

mungkin ini memang jalan takdirku
mengagumi tanpa di cintai
tak mengapa bagiku asal kau pun bahagia
dengan hidupmu, dengan hidupmu
*courtesy of LirikLaguIndonesia.net
telah lama kupendam perasaan itu
menunggu hatimu menyambut diriku
tak mengapa bagiku cintaimu pun adalah
bahagia untukku, bahagia untukku

reff:
ku ingin kau tahu diriku di sini menanti dirimu
meski ku tunggu hingga ujung waktuku
dan berharap rasa ini kan abadi untuk selamanya
dan ijinkan aku memeluk dirimu kali ini saja
tuk ucapkan selamat tinggal untuk selamanya
dan biarkan rasa ini bahagia untuk sekejab saja

100 Things About Me

Posted by on April 25, 2011  |  2 Comments

It’s was a Monday, 25 April and while we’re all dragging ourselves through the day, I thought of this idea.

There was this hashtag on twitter #100thingsaboutme but I think its kinda silly do it on twitter, mostly because of the lack of space (140 char). Not to mention that it felt rather spammy.

I was interested to do it but decided to do it on my blog and update this one post periodically with photos and interesting facts. Now lets see how long it takes me to get to 100 things. Hehe!

25 Apr – Fact 1: I collect cat figurines

100things1

This is not really a common hobby I think. But I started when I was staying in Sabah and everytime I went back to Kuching, I’d buy a cat figurine. So now, most of the time when I’m travelling I try to find a cat figurine to buy and take home. The above pic also has figures of other stuff collected from travels

Theme Change : Polaris

Posted by on April 7, 2011  |  No Comments

blogtheme_6aprYea, its yet another theme change. I’ve lots my mood/time/inspiration for blogging and usually a theme change does the trick.

Its really hard to find a theme that isn’t full of huge photos (I don’t really post up a lot of photos on my blog so it seems like there’s no point if my theme features photos) or a magazine style. I settled for this one instead.

Previously I was using simplista (pic on left) but currently  using Polaris by WPCorner. Free theme of course

The admin page for this is rather confusing as there are extra options for mobile and Menus. Odd. But I guess this is ok for now. Needs more tweaking though – mainly the header to change the logo and also the categories above.

I also upgraded my PHP version to v5 so I’m there are no errors *fingers crossed*

Jothy’s Fish Head Curry sues Blogger SixthSeal & Google for Defamation

Posted by on January 26, 2011  |  16 Comments

Just saw this on twitter:

Google, blogger sued by fish head curry restaurant operator in KK

Jothy’s Fish Head Curry restaurant director Tharumaraj Sivaperumal filed a RM6mil civil suit at the Kota Kinabalu High Court here Monday, naming blogger Poh Huai Bin as first defendant and California-based Google Inc as second defendant.

The suit is arising from some allegedly defamatory statements about Jothy’s Fish Head Curry restaurant posted in May last year by Poh, originally from Sibu in Sarawak and now residing in Kuala Lumpur.

Jothy’s is also seeking an order from the court to remove the offending articles from Google and other popular search engines used on the Internet.

As a result of the defendants’ action, the plaintiff claimed it had suffered loss and damage, and its reputation had been affected both locally and internationally.

So apparently Huai Bin @ Sixthseal wrote about how he didn’t like the food in Jothy’s in his blogpost (way back in May 2010 mind you) even though it is recommended in Lonely Planet. In his words he called it “The Worst Fish Head Curry and Banana Leaf Restaurant in the Known Universe” and “a tourist trap. Avoid it like a bad case of herpes.”

His post – http://www.sixthseal.com/2010/05/jothys-fish-head-curry-banana-leaf-restaurant.html – is currently down (and/or a bit slow). You can get his post in Google cache here – http://bit.ly/gWJKeW

If that is a bit slow, I also have a screenshot of the post with images below. Click for a bigger pic (thx april!)

Edit : Just realized the screenshot wasn’t complete. Fixed.

Update to this issue : Google to retain ‘offensive’ contents on fish head curry outlet
