Alangz pm I beberapa hari sblum 10feb sbb nak bergathering-mathering utk Reban Ayam Joe (apesal alangz nie rajin sgt buat gath?) pastu dier nak buat kat Titiwangsa. But i said Titiwangsa tu mesti byk org ari minggu. Then he said buat kat tasik Permaisuri kat Cheras. Bila i tanya my frens kat mana tasik permaisuri tu, smua kata tempat tu port laki2 macho yg bawa moto/keta besar tapi semuanya gay (fenomena ini hanya berlaku pada waktu malam - according to my frens tu ler). Ntah ler derang. Pastu I told alangz yg i bawa scandal a.k.a. drebar a.k.a. kawan sbb malas nak drive sana lagipun I tatau jalan gi port gay tu

Anyway janji nak jumpa pukul 3.30pm, but of koz sbb Malaysian time, smua datang lambat (kali nie coco datang awal dari delinn..yahoo!). I was there around 3.45pm gitu, alangz & zure & bilal dah sampai (ntah2 alangz ngan zure dah datang dari kul 12 pastu deting2 pusing2 tasik kot?). Then slowly mowly yg lain1 pon sampai gak.

As usual, ada byk sgt makanan extra. I bawa Batik Cake sbb arc dah msg suh bawa (dier nak tapau byk rupanya). Elf bawa sandwich sedap tapi yg telo x sesedap yg sadin+kek, Linn bawa french fries yg x brapa laku, Bilal bawa mee hoon yg dier kerahkan suami utk goreng, Alangz bawa nugget yg amat byk+kopok+Zure, OrenBiru bawa anak dara 2 org, buah-buahan & kopok kopok lagi??, Nini bawa karipap yg dibuat org lain tapi digoreng, Fara bawa pisang goreng “sbb malas” bak kata Lydia, Yummy bawa kopok lekor dlm bakul pelastik, Jijo bawa bubur asyura yg ditapau dari gotong-royong sekolah mem, Pasangan L bawa pizza yg dah separuh dimakan dlm keta, Az bawa mandarin oren & Poi membawa diri dan menapau byk.

As usual, mesti ada petikan2 ayat pada hari itu:

well raya is over, bulan puasa is over. and most of all, i’ll miss all my kuih and makanan at the pasar ramadhan

• Lompat Tikam - a Kelantanese Dessert which consists of glutinous rice (usually dyed red) squares of pandan pudding, thick santan (uber fattening) and gula melaka. Sweetness! but i think mine had too much gula melaka.
• Yummylicious putu piring
• Sata - something with fish (much like otak-otak) but has coconut or santan. Tastes a little sweet. From Terengganu. My ultimate favourite to look out for at every pasar.
• Apam balik - a pancake filled with chopped nuts, sugar and some cream style corn
• Akok (akoq?) a baked egg-based kuih from Kelantan.

Ah..the blissful joy of food…

Goin to be uber busy. All major assignments due this week and exams starts on the 6th. Not sure if i’ll be able to go to the gath on the 5th but i’ll try (no promises). Oh yea…

no mood wei, no mood! the only good thing this week is i got an extra side income which only took about 2 days and has a big payoff.

Oh btw, to those who were interested, my puasa makan attempt on thursday was a success. I berbuka at Awan Besar with Satay…yummy

Friday I had classes, got stuck in a jam on the way home then went out for dinner with Erin - she ‘booked’ me as early as wed nite because she tot i’d be “so busy” - at Manhattan Fish Market, Ikano coz i was craving for fish and chips. Chit chat, then G smsed asking if we were goin to Laundry Bar. I swear that gal keeps looking for an excuse to go out (but i agreed to go oso ). Hung out in laundry bar for hours. Had “Sex on the Beach” (its the name of the cocktail idiot), a shot of Jose Cuervo and a Jug of Frozen margarita (shared with G & Erin). [Damage : rm100]

Saturday I stayed at home till about 2-3 pm when Pammy dragged me out to go Bangsar to do some threading, and we stopped by this new bookstore and i bought some stationary, then we went to

Its been a while I had Kek Batik (I used to have a slice every week) and when I told my friends about it, they didnt have any idea what it was. Apparently its only known in Sarawak and Brunei (not too sure about Sabah). I’ve came across the recipe but its a bit leceh, with eggs and other stuff and need to steam it. However, when I was blog hopping, I came across this recipe for Kek Batik that was super easy.

Wanted to take pics of it, but then i remembered that my parents took it on their holiday to UK (they left last Saturday morning). crap~! Anyway after a bit of trial and error, this is the final version of my simple and easy batik cake.

Batik Cake

(A) 1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 cup milo
1 teaspoon coffee powder
1 cup hot water
(B) 1 tin condensed milk
1 tin evaporated milk

250g unsalted butter
1 packet of plain Marie biscuits (i forgot to check the weight, its a plastic red packet slightly smaller than an A4 size paper)
1 1/2 cup nestum

1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan. Take care not to brown or burn it.
2. Add in (A) and (B) and mix well until there are no lumps.
3. Mix in the nestum and bring the mixture to a boil.
4. Leave to cool
5. Break the biscuits to half and fold them into the mixture.
6. Line a large cake tin with clingfilm
7. Pour the mixture into the caketin and use a spoon to press it down
8. Leave it in the fridge to set, the longer the better.
9. Slice and serve

I read that Su ann was wondering some time ago if the new pizza by Pizza Hut is nice or not. Well Im not really a big fan of Pizza Hut since i met my-first-pizza-love Dominos <3 but when we were at Genting, we decided to try out their new pizza.

The ad says “Pick it! Pull it! Pop it! Pull the fun out of your pizza. Put the fun back in your meals with 24-cheese bites made ready to pull. Pop in every bite filled with Parmesan, Mozzarella and Cheddar cheese topped with garlic sprinkles. The New Chessy Bites Pizza. A fun filled treat with any topping you pick.“

We ordered Super Supreme - personally I dont quite like it coz i think it has an overdose of toppings, but im juz choosy - and the pizza looked like it was baked unevenly because one side was dark brown and the other side wasnt. Oh and you can hardly see the garlic sprinkle much less taste it.

Ok about the taste. I think its quite good actually. The cheese isn’t as dry as the Cheesy Crust one. I think the combo of three cheeses is great. Plus it looks like they did stuff em lil buggers with quite a lot of cheese - as you can see it oozing out in the pic. Cheese lovers (like Beb) would absolutely love it.

Generous toppings, loads of cheese, something unique and uber filling. We had the large and even I could hardly finish my 2nd piece. It was that filling.

Oh and not to mention there’s this photo competition thingy where you have to take a picture of you enjoying urself or posing with the Cheesy Bites pizza and so of course we snapped a few pics for that.

I wana go for this but someone cant confirm back to me yet. There’s a room promotion which is really worth it but im still deciding on whether to go or not.

Iqbal Iggy, my fren from brunei came to KL for a media trip so Sids & Andre rang me up to ask if I wanted to go out with them to One Utama. They picked me up in the afternoon from my house. I was shocked to see that there was so many people in front. Iggy and Sids (driver) in the front. Then Andre and three of her other KDU frens were all sitting on each other lap at the back. So in total there was 7 of us squeezed into a Hyundai Getz. I can so imagine the looks of people who saw the car I miss those Miri and KK days where we would squish everyone together.

We went for lunch at that No 8 place - where it sells japanese-style noodles. I wouldnt call it Ramen because it looks like normal maggi mee. I had something like mee kering with fried dumplings goyza.

After that we went to Lecka-lecka for some dessert - gelato. Andre had creme brulee - which tasted like honey - and baby blue - blue coloured sweetness. i didnt really taste it. Sids had something peachy. I had the berry dreams (i think). Its nice..not overwhelmingly sweet. Oh Iggy belanja. Thank you iggy *huggles*

After that we went to watch “Cars” at GSC. It really enjoyed the movie even tho the cinema was bloody cold. Worth watching it in the cinema. Even tho it might look a bit childish. I kno Erin someone actually cried out loud in the cinema at the touching part

I would be outstation to Seremban tomorrow (and maybe Penang on friday) for a translation job. Kinda nervous coz its the first time I have to do simultaneous translating - meaning that I have to directly translate spoken eng to BM. Would be back in the evenings (because its a day trip only) Cant wait for tomorrow nite coz im goin to zouk with my gal pals
