My mom came into my room today and dumped this thing on my table and asked me to eat it. And i was like “Eeee…what is that?!?!?!”

and i was saying : no way am i goin to eat that!!
and my mom said : juz eat laa
me : yea but wat the heck is it?
mom : juz take the outer shell off
me: eww…is it edible
mom : yes..just eat
me : ewww
mom : come on..try it

mom : never seen a thing like it before ya?

I decided to take a small nibble and it tasted kinda sweet then i instantly knew what it was.

asam jawa rupanya!! (that’s tamarind to you overseas folks). I’ve never seen it in its orginal form. We usually get it in packet form and it tastes more sour.

Havent been uploading coz my internet is down. Apparently its not the fault of my modem (remember my sister’s story?) but the fault of streamyx. Sorry ye

Anyway, been busy goin out to savor the last week of my holidays. Am starting semester on the 20th so going down to Cyberjaya to register for my 2nd semester of my first year tomorrow (thursday).

I went out with Sids, Andre & Erin to Subang on Saturday. We went to look for this vegetarian shop that I saw on someone’s blog. So walked around looking for that shop and finally found it. Looked like a chinese shop from outside. So i asked Andre “You sure it’s halal?” then andre said “hello? do they even sell meat?” and then i was “oh yea..silly me”

After that we went to watch “Big Momma’s House 2″ at GSC Summit. Was a really funny movie. Had lotsa of laughs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Took the KTM train to Bank Negara to meet up with Par (apa ek blog address ko tu?) & Put who were goin to pick me up from Sogo so we could go for this picnic-gathering of the CSgroup (no,no,not CounterStrike..but something else =P).

Supposed to start at 5.30 pm…but we all got lost in Lake Gardens because everyone was nmot sure of where to meet. So we only started at 6.30pm. Had LOADS of food. Orgnya 6-7, makanan utk 20 org. Haha! Cik puteri brought grapes, par rajin buat sandwich, linn bawa meehoon goreng (sorry yek i tak makan meehoon ), & mamabat merajinkan diri bawa Laksa johor, air oren, rendang ayam & nasi impit. I juz brought air gas

It was the FASTEST picnic i ever experienced. Express picnic…lasted an hr only. haha!! everyone was soo full and it was getting late. Thanks to par sbb anto aku pegi KLcentral I lepak around in KL Central for a bit coz was kinda bored. Then took the LRT back to KJ.In the LRT, i bumped into this european couple who were wondering if they were on the wrong train. So i asked if them where they were going to. Apparently they wanted to go to KLCC which was the opposite direction. So i said they could stop at the next station and switch platforms. They were so grateful for the help and I felt so good about myself for helping. Hehe! People were like staring tho. Wonder why?

All in all, i had a busy Saturday but it was a blast!!

Yesterday we went for dinner at Chillis OU. Eat until stomach wana burst. haha! Had 2 starters on top of a main meal each. Not to mention many refills of drinks. Then we went to deli-licious…delicious where we had fantastic chocolate brownie smeared with hot fudge choc sauce and topped with vanilla icecream. The tiramisu there was good as well. Tak sempat take pictures coz we instantly attacked it when it came. Thanks Nick

Didnt go to the Guinness party at Zouk the other nite. No kawan. But spent time at kinchan’s office with him and nick cooking up ideas for our new blog - One Night Stands. Its this joint blog about the silly things we do when we’re bored - mostly pictures at mamaks lah.

Mel’s coming over tonite from Bangkok so im going to pick her up soon. Tonite’s the Liverpool-Man U game in Old Trafford at midnite so i MIGHT be going down to mosin to watch with the guys. Depending on whether Mel is tired or not.

I support Liverpool…so they’d better win

This month Im really really short of money. Not really sure what exactly I spent it on, but must be coz of all the outings this month. Cant wait for my “gaji” to masuk account so that I have something to live on, if not, hv to pinjam moneylah. Cant ask money from my parents due to very obvious reasons.

Anyway, last nite we came back quite late, around 5.30 am after lepaking in Devi’s Bangsar, until we kena halau. Had lots of laughs over our childhood memories of toys & TV shows particularly Sesame Street - Grouch, Snufflafagus (i think i spelled it wrong), Elmo, “the letter of the day is F…*starts singing*…F…F…F….F!!!”. Hilarious! Even more so when it’s dubbed into BM. Laughed about doing silly stuff with remote control cars, toy guns, a digital camera and an empty street. Also cooked up a new nickname for Nick.

This afternoon had lunch with Carmen and Nick at Uncle Lim’s, Ikano (P was supposed to come, but he tertido until evening). The 3 of us ate rm41.50 worth of food - 2 porridges, 1 nasi lemak, 2 half boiled eggs, 1 roti bakar, 1 otak-otak & 3 drinks. Then went to Borders, Nick bought his Linkin Park book about their Meteora world tour (did i get it right?). After dat went to Starbucks - didnt bring laptop coz my dad left it at the office - reading Icewind Dale Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore. The game Icewind Dale is based on this book. Its a really really thick book, didnt get to finish it.

Around 5-6pm P came along and lepak around there in starbucks before deciding to go to Arena to play snooker. I’ve never played snooker - am better at pool - so i gave it a try. So hard to adjust to a bigger table - i think i need lots and lots more practise. It was a fun game lah. Played for about an hour. The guys keep bullying me coz I was kinda blur (due to lack of sleep) and there was no Erin to bully this time. Then we went to Kpg Pandan for a late late late dinner/supper.

Come to think of it, I’ve been seeing Nick and P on a daily basis. Erin asked “dont you ever get bored of each other?” I dont think so. Its fun, sometimes nothing to do at home, so just keluar lepak la.

The BBQ I had last nite was quite fun - too much lots of food : marinated beef (3 kg), chicken wings (1 kg), mash potatoes (RM6 worth), sandwiches (2 loaves - trimasih Kak L) & tidbits. But only 8 out of 13 people turned up Most were sick with the flu so cant really help that, but the others had like no money or were busy. Nevermind la

It wasnt as big and grand as the BBQs i used to do at the beach back in KK or Miri. We had like at least 30-40 people at a time, but at that time we were quite the gila-gila type..willing to do anything and everything - jump into the lake, pelt each other with mud, make bonfires on hostel grounds until the guard chased us away, played cho tai ti till 7am, etc, etc - so it was great.

Not to say that last nite was terrible. In fact, it was a nice BBQ among close frens, lots of laughing and joking with each other and cooking and eating. We were so stuffed after. And slightly drunk because there was a bottle of Chivas, JD & Vodka Kurant. Then we went to Azril’s place to watch the Liverpool match (they won 1-0, making someone jump up and down) and makan kacang.

Went back around 2 am…..my whole body felt so heaty that i didnt get to sleep but stayed up trying to go online on dialup (my mom is SO going to kill me when the phone bill comes). Then talked on the phone with a fren for an hr before continuing thru SMS. Only slept around 7 am Sunday.

Incik P called at 2pm ajak lunch at McD so we went for lunch wif Ms E, then went to Ace Hardware, Ikea & Curve to go buy stuff. Then went to her place to use the internet, play tennis and lepak (different ppl do different things la).

Now going to lepak…babai

My parents’ conversation the other day while preparing to go to Tg Malim (my mom is from there)…

Dad : Aren’t you going to buy some oranges to bring back?
Mom : No need la, we’re still going again on CNY eve. You always shoot out something off the top of your head.
Dad : Nolah, I can shoot something between my thighs. *laughs*
Mom : Aiya…u ahh!!

I went to play tennis for the first time on Raya eve (9/1) at erin’s place. It was really fun - albeit the fact that I didn’t know how to play. Was hard at first concentrating on the ball and missed so many times but got the hang of it after a while. I hv tis slight bruise on my arm when erin accidently hit me using the ball. Ouch!

Woke up on the 10th with my shoulder and back aching a little. Went to beraya at Sid’s hse. His mom cooks fantastic food - lontong, lemang, beef, chicken rendang, nasi minyak. Yummy!! I think i had 2 helpings or more (so much for the exercise in tennis the day before ). I dont really like to eat lontong, so had the nasi minyak & chicken which was really fantastic. Then we had desserts - chocolate cake, small oranges, chocolate crinkle (a kind of cookie) and kuih bahulu. My fave!! Spent the whole day at his house, having good conversation and fantastic food. Only went back around 6-7pm.

I was reading a fren’s blog dated 9 jan and somehow got the nagging feeling that it was referring to me. Am i perasan or not? It was about telling someone what you disliked about them. Im known to be very honest in my sometimes hurtful comments, especially if im close to the commentee. Though some might call it callous, insensitive and untactful but i’d prefer to be honest than be a hypocrite. Wouldnt you?
