My thoughts : TV3 did a great job in utilizing social media in their site with facebook and twitter. They even set up a twitter wall showing all tweets hashtaged with #ask09. Not to mention a live feed on their microsite. Even tho I didn’t watch, but I thought the idea was awesome.

One question tho, why is the twitter hashtag #ask09 and not #as09? Is it because it sounds like ASS? Too controversial?

I’m sure by now we’ve all heard about the Sufiah Yusof, the mathematical genius who at the tender age of 13 was offered a place in Oxford, who now is a prostitute for a living. Perhaps the only reason why everyone is so kecoh about it is that she’s has a Malaysian mother (she’s British people, get ur facts right!) and is a Muslim.

Though honestly, anyone who was forced into a freezing room by her father to "sharpen her mental skills" would obviously one day rebel and do the exact opposite of what was expected by her right? D-uh!) but the fact that she thinks that she can never be in a proper relationship.

All the knowledge and money and education in the world would not be enough to trade for a chance at a proper relationship.

Sori I’ve been abandoning my blog. Been busy enjoying the last 2 weeks of my holidays.

Early dinner at Delicious with the girls

Erin was around since Monday last week and it’s been a week long sleepover. There was a lot of eating and jalan2. Meeting up with old friends from school. Shopping in One Utama. Driving to PJ Digital Mall. Pigging out the whole day with Dominos, sleeping then a huge huge supper at Williams. Gossiping till wee hours of the morning. Sleeping in till the afternoon. It was such fun girls!

Then there are the date nights. ‘Forcing’ him to rush to the ktm at 10.30pm to come down to watch a movie with me. Driving for 30 minutes at 2am to go see him. Lepaking in a kedai mamak laughing and talking till early morning. Drinking weird drinks like Milo Float and Teh O Lychee. The night he found out I was a hantu satay coz i insisted we stopped by at the side of the road to buy satay even tho we oredi tapau KFC.

I start class in a week. My FINAL semester. Yey! Got my timetable today after waiting for ages to complete my registration. This semester I only have 3 subjects because Major Proj doesn’t really count as a subject and i got exempted for Malaysian Studies (because I did it back in Curtin). But I still have classes everyday. Oh well, at least I can sleep in :)

I got another number. Yea, besides using my main number (012) and my secondary number (019), I got another 0143 number from Happy (which is actually under Digi). Just for calling out tho, coz its bloody cheap. 1 cent per second with a max of 0.99 cents and a max of 45 minutes. Ha? Tak faham? (Dont understand?) Here’s the breakdown:

1 second = 1 cent
2 seconds = 2 cents
3 seconds = 3 cents
99 seconds = 99 cents
100 seconds = 99 cents (max)
101 seconds = 99 cents
2700 seconds (max) = 99 cents

So basically, after 45 minutes (2700 seconds) the call gets cut off. Cheap yes? Of course not as cheap as postpaid lines with free calls/sms/mms Family Plans but still pretty cheap for a prepaid line.

The starter pack is RM 5 (get from most Giant stores in Klang Valley) with a RM2 reload value. 

You can topup at Giant, some Kiosks, some ATMs and some online banking sites [more details]. The pack is blank with no fine print (as you can see from the pic on the left). There’s also a bunch of cute stickers they give. Green packaging with red simcard – very christmasy packaging kan?

The people I know who are using it – MohdIsmail, Qai, Empithree, Manchurr, Mixterr & Khai (lerr…scukz down lagi?) – all have high praise for it. However I do have complaints. Digi/Happy take note!

1. The lack of fine print means that there is no ‘manual’ for users. How to check credit, where and how to reload, details of charges, etc. Yes I know its all online but not everyone has internet access. My fren actually texted me asking how to check credit.
2. The ads claim that its only RM0.99 per call – but there is no mention of the limit of 45 minutes. I found out about the limits only coz friends told me. That is why we should have fine print.
3. Upon switching on your simcard (and thus activating it), you’ll receive this message “Your <handphone model> supports GPRS and MMS service(s).For free activation, type Y to 2000…” Note that is says its FREE.
   After doing so, check your credit. You’ll find that its less RM2. This is my statement from the website. I got my simcard on the 21st at Giant Sunway Pyramid.

But despite all its faults, its still one of the cheapest prepaids around for calling. So if you get a call from 014322-something-something, its probably from me :)

Edit (19 July 2008): You can only get their simcard from their website. The cheapest is RM30 which has RM30 topup inside so basically the simcard is free. Credit card payment only.

I actually forgot to reload my Happy number for about 2-3 months so the number expired and thus I had to buy a new one. Then I misplaced that one and when I called the cust service, they will not replace the simcard with a new one. So I had to buy another one. I found the simcard eventually tho.

Edit (22 August 2008): Maybank2u payment is also accepted. GPRS & MMS charges are not confirmed FREE.

Everyone has been asking me to kirim salam to Acha next semester. Huh? Acha? As in the Acha Septriasa? So I did a bit of googling to find out more about it.

Apparently, the sweet adorable indonesian lass Acha Septriasa is going to start studying in Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) starting Febuary 2008. Popular for her songs such as Berdua Lebih Baik and movies such as My Heart and Love is Cinta she has captured the hearts and eyes of the Indonesian and Malaysian guys public. I personally like her song Sampai Menutup Mata.Wonder what course she’s taking?

First Dafi (of AF5 fame) then Acha. I wonder who’s next? Some famous Botswanian singer? Hehehe :P

Hehe…i was reading G’s blog and was laughing my head off. We were at IKEA yesterday and while we were walking around looking at the stuff (i lurve to go window shopping there and mentally swipe my non-existant Black American Express card) when gladys suddenly said “Batang Magis” and started giggling then she said “the magic stick”.

I was like “…..” – blur for like 5 mins – before I realized that she translated the Song “Candy Shop” by 50cent & Olivia. Then we both started laughing like crazy. Read the whole translation of the song “Candy Shop” at her blog.

Today when i got to uni, i was kinda terkejut to see eL & Nadia busy fussing over a digital camera. Apparently they were trying to take a picture of someone who looks suspiciously like TukangTaip. What do you think? We’re quite sure its not him :P

I dont have classes tomorrow meaning its going to be a 4-day weekend for me this weekend. Yay~! (Not that I have anything interesting planned anyway) planned to go to Genting wif some frens but tak jadi coz of the tanah runtuh. A good friend’s birthday is coming up and not really sure what to get him or what to do? Belanja kat Mosin? :P cukup ke? :P

A close friend of mine left KL a few days ago. I never knew I’d ended up being so close to her. At first we were just casual friends, but after hanging out together often, with lots of good food(we both like to eat), shopping (we like to spend money), clubbing (hehe!) and lepaking till late nite, we grew alot of closer.

She left so suddenly and abruptly without telling anyone that I only found out the day before she was leaving. Luckily I had the opportunity of spending time with her before that. I learned a lot of things from this friend of mine. I learned that even tho life seems rosy and good, there is often more underneath the surface. Looking at her, she seems like she has no problems, but I know better.

She left because she wanted to take a timeout and rethink what she wants to do with her life. I think she is also faced with family problems (which she did not reveal to me)- and has to go back and make sure everything is going fine. I probably wont be seeing her for the next month or so – but even she cant confirm if she will be coming back to KL after that. I hope she will, because im really starting to miss her.

To that friend of mine, if ur reading this, I wish you all the best in everything you do.

One more note:
Sadly, Melvin Dennis has left Evenstarr to concentrate on completing his degree. So sad, Mel was one of the first and best band members to befriend. And he was also the funniest. I cherish the first time i met him at CB in miri and we hanged out at a coffee shop till dawn. Exchanging jokes, and he even accidently thought a customer was a waitress and asked for a drink. damn that was funny.
