Paypal Blogger Dinner & South East Asia based site – Paypal Unbound

Posted by on December 13, 2009  |  2 Comments

Well I couldn’t make it to the Paypal PowerUp event on Saturday (not that there was any space anyway, read the whole fiasco/drama here), so the guys over at Text100 invited me to a Paypal Blogger’s dinner on the 10th of December at Dubrovnik Restaurant, Solaris. It was a small affair – dinner with the bloggers and people from Paypal to discussion features and other issues.

I was a tad late because I had to rush from work and Fridays are quite difficult for me to escape early. Manage to find the place thanks to Nahri frm Text100’s directions. But I came just in time before anything started. Was introduced to Mr Mario Shiliashki, the GM of Paypal SEA, Geert Desager, Senior Marketing Manager and Amy, Head of Cross Border Asia.

[Tutorial] Link Maybank Visa Debit Card with Paypal

Posted by on August 9, 2009  |  114 Comments

Finally! After numerous complaints from users, Maybank’s Visa Debit card can finally be linked to Paypal. You can use it to verify your Paypal account and hopefully withdraw successfully.

I can’t really say if its possible to withdraw funds from Paypal or not because I’ve not tried it but what I can tell you is that it IS possible to link your Maybank debit card with some easy steps.

Click on the pics to view a bigger screenshot.

Step One
Login to your Maybank2u account. Look under Utilities and Click on Maybankcard Secure Online Shopping Registration

Step Two
Select which card you want to use. In this case, I only have one card, so that is chosen by default.

Fill in the MSOS Password (has to be between 6-8 characters) and confirm

Fill in the Personal Assurance Message. This message will appear when you are asked for your password while shopping online. I think this is to ensure that is Maybank asking for your password and not some phishing site. There must not be any characters other than a-z.

Fill in the Expired Date, CVV, Hint & Answer

Step Three
Login to www.paypal.com with your paypal email & password.

In the My Account tab, click Profile and Add/Edit Credit or Debit Card.

Key in the details of your Maybank Visa Debit Card. Make sure the address is exactly the same as your billing address.

Link Maybank Debit to Paypal 3

Step Five
You will then get a verification email to your paypal account saying that you have successfully linked your card. And now all you have to do is add the code.

Link Maybank Debit to Paypal 4

Step Six
Okay this is important : Wait for about ONE DAY before doing the following steps**

Login to your Maybank2u again and click on Accounts & Banking, then click on your Account number for your Account Details.

Then click on Debit Card History. You should then see an entry with the word “Paypal”. The code is the 4 numbers before the word Paypal.

Eg: PREAUTH SALE 8921PAYPAL-*EXPUSE DATED 06/08/09
Paypal Code : 8921

**If you check your account too early, you might not see the details of the transaction and would not be able to get the code

Link Maybank Debit to Paypal 5

Step Seven
Log in to www.paypal.com and click on Profile, then Add/Edit Credit or Debit Card.

Click on Enter Paypal Code and enter the code you obtained in Step Six.

Success!
And now you have successfully linked your Maybank Visa Debit Card to your Paypal. You will get the refund of USD1.95 to your Paypal account.

:: NOTES ::

  • If you have problems linking your card, check to make sure the details of the card is all correct – especially the Address. If all else fails, call the Maybank customer service.
  • I have no idea why USD 1.00 is also deducted along with the USD 1.95 when we verify the card. I didn’t have this extra charge when verifying with Al-rajhi Visa Debit Card
  • I have not tried to withdraw from Paypal to my card but I’ll be happy to hear your comments if you did try. Remember that Paypal charges USD5 per withdrawal.

even though you are short of money, you would rather pay for all your hosting & domains so that it won’t expire and didn’t pay for your phone bill, causing it to be barred.

So people, if you need to contact me, please call instead of SMS-ing :P

Working life so far

Posted by on December 30, 2008  |  1 Comment

Working life so far has been rather interesting. It takes me around 1 hr to get there and 1.5-2 hours to get back (depending on what time i leave the office).

Lots of people say the best part about working is that you get your own income. Well yea, but with an income comes more responsibility – especially if u’re the eldest.

So the parents and I sat down the other day and kira-kira. I offered to pay the loan for my car in exchange for them paying for my student loan. Actually both is roughly the same total amount but I preferred to pay for the car

Here’s the breakdown of the rough estimate:

Toll = RM6.50 a day = RM180
Petrol = RM 240 (includes those times when i terpesong to other places)
Car loan = RM500
Total = RM920

*pening*

Internet at home has been down for a few days. The internet here is sub-par and keeps disconnecting. I just spent 15 mins of my 1-hr long lunch time to write a post and when I pressed Publish, the internet was down and my post is lost.

I ish not happy – and hungry and sleepy :(

I got my cheque from Advertlets

Posted by on June 11, 2008  |  2 Comments

Yey! I FINALLY got my cheque from Adverlets. “But you have no ads on your site?” I hear you say. Well, last year, I had ads in my blog. First Advertlets and, some time after that, Nuffnang (this was before they introduced Glitterati & Titan). After seeing the rather slow trickle of money coming into my account, I decided to withdraw or cash out all RM113.52 of it and delete all the ads. The result was this ad-free blog.

So yea, anyways, finally received the money that I cashed out waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy back at the end of FEBRUARY. Yes! It took them 4 months to pay me (due to some error or another). Oh well, at least I got my cheque already. Now I can add this to my Travel Fund. Yay!

The question now is : Would I put advertlets ads in this blog? Well, most probably not. I do have it on my other blogs tho and its kinda slow. I still think that Malaysian Blog Advertisting companies isn’t a good way to get fast money. What can I say? I can make a minimum of USD5 on a 100 word post elsewhere :P

Spark up your blog

Posted by on June 1, 2008  |  No Comments

There are so many ways to make money for your blog nowadays. So much so that some greedy people actually just open a blog with posts that they copy pasted from articles just so that it looks like they have a blog which they can put in all sorts of advertisements and paid posts.

socialspark_screenshot1

However, I would like to introduce you to another great way to make money via your blog. Its perhaps the first website for bloggers that not only makes money but also create a social network.

 socialspark_opportunities

Don’t you hate it when you see a nice opportunity that you like but then its all reserved? Sometimes the opp might feature something that you’re really interested in but then there are no more slots. However, with SocialSpark, you can reserve opportunities that you want. Yes, even though they are no more slots, you can reserve a slot. Then you will be emailed when one is available. No more waiting around and refreshing to hope there’s a slot.

socialspark_comments

The best part is, for every opportunity, you can see all the previous posts that other bloggers have written. Its really good for getting some ideas on how to write the post. Not only that you can also see comments that other people have made regarding the opportunity. Isn’t that a good way to get to know more blogger friends?

And did i mention about their code of ethics. Not only does it have 100% audit-able in-post disclosure, there is also 100% transparency. They also ensure that all posts are 100% real opinions and 100% search engine friendly.

So, what are you waiting for? Spark up your blog today with SocialSpark :)

My Online Shopping Addiction

Posted by on May 29, 2008  |  No Comments

My name is IcedNyior and I’m an online shopaholic.

Its weird you know. Ask any of my friends like Pam or Aree and ask them how I am when we go out shopping. I’m usually the one who tags along, gives comments and only once in a while do I buy something – and that is quite seldom.

However, online shopping hit me like a mind blowing orgasm. LOL! Its so hard to stop myself from transferring over money for this or that item. Sprees are the worst!

Sprees are when people all gather their orders and order stuff from international websites like Bath and Body Works, Victoria Secret, Sephora, Amazon, etc then save on shipping costs. Its usually organized by two people – one in US and one over here. So the websites ships the items to person in US who then ships it to someone here who then distributes it to everyone else.

So yea anyway, I got the two packages I was waiting for. Yey! I mentioned it a few posts back coz I have to wait a month for the stuff to get here.

bbw_body_splash_victoria_secret_beauty_rush_grapefruit_blast

I bought these items

  • Bath and Body Works Black Raspberry & Vanilla Body Splash = RM30
  • Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Grapefruit Blast Double Body Mist = 2 for USD27.90
  • Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Grapefruit Blast Body Drink Lotion= 2 for USD27.90
  • I actually bought another BBW Chocolate Amber Body Splash but I didn’t like the smell so I sold it off to someone else at the same price I bought it.

eyes_lips_face_products

I also bought these products from elf (EyesLipsFace.com) at Rm50 for 6

  • Candy Shop Lip Tins – Berry Pop & Cherry Bomb
  • Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara
  • Brightening Eye Colour – Drama, Luxe & Ivy
  • Brightening Eye Liner – Coffee
  • Natural Radiance Blusher – Flushed
  • Earth & Water Mascara Duo – Brown
  • Bought a few other elf items for my sisters also.

Haven’t had the chance to try it yet tho. Will write reviews soon.

My computers died on me :(

Posted by on March 17, 2008  |  3 Comments

I have 2 hard drives in that PC – one 60gb & another 80gb. The smaller one is where I put my Windows and program files, its quite old, given to me by a friend when I had PC problems. Anyway, it decided to die on me last week. Just gave me a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) then Disk boot error. I was just waiting for it to kaput so I had all my files backup-ed earlier so its no big loss. Its just a question of whether I have the funds to replace it or not. Not only that, im using 512 MB of SDRAM and

So now I have to turn to my laptop. Portable but heavy (2.7kg) and gets hot fast. I simply hated the Vista Home basicit was running on. Programs would just suddenly have the error message "Not Responding" and everything will be laggy. I had problems even opening photoshop so Im sure opening 3dsmax 6 or unreal editor 2004 might be worst. Not to mention I can’t use CS3 on it. Finally, i got Arep to help me downgrade it to WinXP. tengkiu Arep!

So that explains why i haven’t been updating these past few days. Hopefully my dad agrees to change my pc because i really need a better one :) He did mention something about it but I’m not going to believe it till i get the physical cash in hand. Here’s hoping he does get it for me *crosses fingers*
