Nervous! Im getting ready for my first day at work. Am going to take a new unexplored but easier route. Omg! Nervous! Couldn’t sleep well last nite :/

I’ve settled in. Met most of the 40 or so staff members. Mostly Chinese here and some Malays – but they are mostly in the enforcing department (they have a hamster tank in their office. lol!) There’s some construction going on. The fumes are making me feel high and pening a bit. Im still a bit shy tho *blush*

I managed to track my movement on Google Maps. Tolls :
# NKVE (Kota Dsara – Dsara) = RM 1.00
# Sprint (Kerinchi) = RM 1.60 (i think? cant rmbr)
# SMART = RM 2.00

Yea its RM4.60 for tolls. But totally no jam except a bit after the Damansara toll. Got to the office in slightly less than 1 hour which is pretty good for morning rush hour.

Now I wonder when is lunch?

A series of unfortunate events:
- They are doing some renovation in the office. the chemical fumes (glue, paint and got knows what else) is making me dizzy
- I had to eat alone. nobody invited me to lunch :(
- I dropped my phone into the toilet. yea, AFTER I did my small business :’(

On another note, our pantry is decorated like a tavern and we got a life-sized N*ght Elf. LOL!

Plus there is a new sealed copy of Gr*nd Th*ft Auto 4 on my desk. And stacks of GT* 4 posters behind me

Halloween has just passed a few days ago. My friends who are overseas were saying that people were walking in the streets in costume. I think its a really fun thing to be able to do that.

Over here, we don’t really celebrate Halloween but most clubs and bars are in full swing with various types of Halloween parties. I personally went to check out Quattro in Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur’s newest hot spot, and the place was packed to the brim.

There were a few people wearing common but sexy costumes – like a skin tight glittery short red dress and devil’s horns, and pointy witches hats which kind of poked the back of my head a few times. Come to think of it, most people had those light in the dark devil horns. Cute!

I was browsing online and saw that they had all sort of adult halloween costumes. No! Not those that u bring into the bedroom (though you can, if that your kind of thing. haha!) but many types like pirates, alice in wonderland, gothic queen and Frankenstein bride to name a few. There are also cute little children costumes like a yellow duck marshmallow peep. Adorable!

Maybe I should organize a halloween costume party next year. It’ll be fun

Have you guys dropped by KLCC lately? Ralph Lauren was promoting their newest fragrance since last week with a really nice display. It looks like a Black and White scene of Paris or other European countries with an antique car and also part of a “bridge” that’s jutting out. Not to mention they also had those street lamps which gave a whole ‘sidewalk Parisian cafe’ look.

Oh and the fragrance? I didn’t try to smell it, but it smells really nice when u pass by :)

Now that I drive daily from Damansara to KLCC, I find that I really need to get a good pair of sunglasses. Previously, I drove mostly at night – late night yumcha sessions or clubbing nights out with the girls – so I didn’t really need it. I have one currently but its a bit scratched so its not all the comfortable to use.

I’ve read that for my kind of face (the chubby rounded type), I should use square-ish sunglasses. That means none of that huge round aviators (I don’t really like em anyway) because it will make your face look rounder.

I personally have a thing for wraparounds – the type of sporty looking sunglasses that wrap around your face. Some thing like this one from Oakley :

Nice yea? I’ve been trying many many pairs now but still have yet to find the right one. Guess I have to shop around more then.

Lately I’ve got some people asking me about how I do my online shopping. Well there are three ways I generally do it:

1) Buy from auction sites such as eBay or Lelong

2) Buy from forums like Lowyat.net or MalaysianBabes.com

3) Buy from websites overseas

I notice there is still that worry among the ppl about getting cheated. Something like “how if I pay and I never get the item?” Well ladies and gents, there are certain policies that ensure you will have a safe and secure transaction. For eBay there’s a point system and for forums there’s a tradelist of some sort to show the previous transactions.

Personally I like buying online because its so very convinient. Transfer the money via online banking or Paypal and just wait for the item to arrive. Plus, some websites even have discounts and promotions. Sometimes you can even use promo codes to get a better deal.

Ah..everything at our fingertips.

I’ve been driving to and fro from Kota Damansara to KLCC every morning and evening. The toll is RM 1.80 when coming out of Kota Damansara toll and exiting at the Jalan Duta Toll. The petrol is probably less than rm10 (I’m just giving a rough guess here). Its always jammed so I guess more petrol is lost there :(  Guess everyone is see reviews on 2009 cars to find a more fuel efficient car.

Oh the other day when someone banged to back of my viva and the bumper had to be replaced, the guy who was handling us was really friendly and explained everything nicely. Kinda hard to find the best mechanic nowadays. Everyone seems out to get the money.

Speaking of cars, did u know that sometimes cars are recalled? Guess you should start thinking about getting automatically notified on every recall for your vehicle. One good article you should read is DriverSide Spotlight.

I watch football matches occasionally. Mostly matches from bigger games such as the world cup, EPL and the like. I dont follow a particular team but I don’t like Manchester United (MU fans, don’t hate me!) – I think they’re too “branded”, I don’t really know how to explain it. I prefer Liverpool. :P

Anyway, I never watch local Malaysian football matches – not even if you gave me tickets for free. Why? Because its boring. The games don’t feel exciting like how the international matches are. Plus its really cool to see all the players happily taking photos with the football trophies after that – they’re really hot.

Perhaps the Msian government should do more in rewarding outstanding footballers. People work better with some kinda reward. Not only in football but also in business. Bosses should start giving corporate awards to outstanding employees. That could include some gifts and a corporate trophy as well

I recently got my first freelancing job. I’m so excited with it. The ‘client’ – I wouldn’t really call her a client since she’s more like a friend – is such a joy to work with. Very hassle free. Best part is, she already has her own hosting and domain so all I have to do is set up the design.

No need to explain all the different web hosts available since there are so many and its hard to find the most suitable one. Try googling hosting and you’ll get so many hits that you get confused. The most important thing is getting a reliable hosting so do choose carefully.

Anyway, am looking forward to completing the job in these few weeks. Watch out for the launching soon! :D

Have u ever got those annoying phonecalls or SMSes from unknown people? I did get an SMS from this guy who asked “How are you?”. Apparently he’s some guy from Negeri Sembilan. I told him that he got the wrong number and that I was someone else. But that person didn’t believe me and insisted that I was lying to him.

I hate this kind of callers. However there is a way to do reverse phone directory and trace back the numbers that have been disturbing you or unknown miscalls.

Anyway, I finally got my guy bf to pick up one of his calls and tell him off in a polite way.

Erin was complaining to me about her housemate dilemma. Her housemates have been taking the food that she paid for, using her plastic containers and even misusing her pots and pans (those non-stick ones that are pricy and cant be scraped with metal spatula). Newest incident, some of her stuff is missing.

Perhaps she should start labeling all her things, from nail polish (which was one of the things that was missing) to food containers. I remembered back in school (i think it was in kindergarden) my mom would label every single thing I had. She would write out my name and stick it with clear sticky tape to my pens, lunchbox, pencil case, bag and basically everything. She even sewed my name on my clothes.

Well, you know kids. They will sometimes forget their things and the next day it will be hand to find it. Or if they see something that is nicer and shinier than theirs, they might just takit it. I remember always getting scolded because I tend to lose my items. Back then, my mom had to handwrite all her lables but now its much easier with devices such as DYMO Labelmaker which can automatically print out lables on materials of your choice.
