I have this hobby. Its creating papercraft. I wrote about this before I think. There’s something about cutting and pasting and creating models that I just like. I can do simple things from a hexagonal shape to something really complex like a japanese castle. It actually depends on my mood.
Not to mention that I’m also a student. Better at typing out assignments in my computer then writing it out with pen and paper. My collage gives us a printing card which allows us to print 500 pages a semester but sometimes I feel that it’s not enough.
Both of these things involve loads of money spent on paper and ink. So I’m always looking for ways to save on printing - like printing in Draft mode - or at least find places where they sell cheap ink cartridges.
I’m using a hp deskjet which I got for free when we bought the family computer - which was a HP desktop computer - and one black ink cartridge costs RM50-60 depending on where I buy it. There are so many different types of printers in the market now - deskjet, inkjet, laser printers, etc - which can be rather confusing. There’s even the all-in-one types like Brother multi function printers.
My solution to my printing problem? I usually get my dad to print it in his office. Especially if i want it in colour. Hehe
I just remembered something that struck me as kind of interesting.
Last year, I went to the Blogger Booze in Hartamas where I met lots of new and interesting friends like the Gallivanter and Ratu Syura (who turned out to know one of my close friends too - small world).
So there was this one blogger, can’t quite remember who exactly, who was passing out his card. At first I thought it was a business card. But I was wrong, it stated his name and his blog address. And I was like “Wow! Business cards for bloggers! Cool!” Yea it was my first time seeing such a thing.
Then again, it was kind of a good idea. Blogs are a way for people to express their feelings and some bloggers like to know that people actually read their writings. So of course we go around and promote our blog link everywhere.
I usually just put it in my forum signature and ping certain sites but I guess there are also other ways of promoting your blog like using business cards (like that guy did) or buying advertising from other blogs. Perhaps you could also go out on a limb and look around for companies to print custom magnets to give out during blogger meets.
I guess it all boils down to a sense of wanting to be heard. On our blog, we want people to read and hear what we say. How would you promote your blog?
The best family outing I had was to Australia. We started off with a day trip in Brisbane before staying in our hotel in Gold Coast. What I really enjoyed was all the theme parks! We went to Wet and Wild, Dreamworld and Warner Bros MovieWorld. Dreamworld had all those rollercoasters and rides. We tried all of the rides, except one which looked too scary. But Movie World was really interesting with all the behind the scenes stuff on how they produced their movies.
But I think none of the theme parks in Australia could rival the ones in the US. I for one would love to go visit LA. There are a lot of things to do in Los Angeles. For starters, we could go to Universal Studios Hollywood. Then perhaps take a trip to Disneyland. After visiting all the nearby theme parks, then I’d go for sightseeing tours around LA visiting berry farms, Palm Springs and so many more places.
There’s a lot of websites that you can visit to get more information about where to go when you feel like having a holiday. And its not limited only to activities in Los Angeles but also tells you the Things to do in Boston or New York or even Orlando.
Not only that, if you sign up on this newsletter before 30 April, you might stand a chance to win a hand-held GPS system. Great for all those road trips and travelling.
I just found out about this from Delinn. GSC Alamanda is opening on April 3rd and they are offering free tickets! Yea! You can watch movies for free from 29 March to 2 April. The movies they are showing are “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, “The Golden Compass”, “National Treasure”, “Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium”, “Anak Halal (Malay)”, “Impak Maksima (Malay)”, “Om Shanti Om (Hindi)” and “CJ7 (Chinese)”.
All you have to do is print out this coupon here. Each coupon is valid for two tickets and each person can have four tickets. The movie schedule is at that website also.
Whee~~ now got place to lepak if too lazy to go to class class finishes early.
I’m graduating soon - sometime in June if I pass all my subjects *crosses fingers* - and I’m worried. Initially, the plan was to obtain my Bachelor of Science Honors Degree then work for about six months to a year and then go overseas to continue my Masters.
Ah but then I’m not going to be a full time student. The plan is to work part time and study part time also. I’m sure it’ll be interesting you know, being in a new place. A new experience.
Oh, in addition to that, perhaps after I complete my Masters, I can try and look for a job overseas in which ever country that I’m planning to study. Then perhaps stay there and never come back to Malaysia. LOL! That’s an interesting thought actually.
I don’t want to be old and busy working then have to think about getting my masters. Like my dad, he has to work from morning - and he has to leave early to avoid the jam - all the way till night - he only gets back around 8pm - then he has to study for his MBA. And thats not including having dinner and resting a little while.
Seeing him struggle to complete his part time MBA program makes it look very difficult. Come to think of it, Im sure it’ll be really hard to concentrate on both work and studies at the same time. Its kinda convenient that most universities including Pepperdine Uni offers part-time MBA programs for working adults such as my dad.
Oh well, those are some of my long term plans. Only time will tell whether or not they will come true right. Now all I gotta do is concentrate and work hard on my final semester and graduate first.

No, not a real one of course. The boyfriend and I were out walking around the RM5 shop. You know, those shops that sell really cheap stuff all from China and its usually very huge with all sorts of things from vases to toys to bags.
Anyway I saw this really cute and big tiger. I want one because I think it’ll look cool to put in my room with the black rug. He disagreed with me tho. He ask, Why a tiger? Its not even cute! Blah Blah! I said, i wana put in my room! Something like this (really lousy photoshop work):

My powers of persuasian was not up to top form that day. Or perhaps its really wasn’t nice. So, no, we didn’t buy it. ![]()
However, a few days ago he said to me, “Nah, here’s your tiger”

Its not as big as what i wanted, but oklahh…hihihihi
