Imagine if oysters produced more than just gorgeous, valuable pearls and luscious, succulent flesh. For example if the shells of the oysters could be put to good use such as charcoal. Then we wouldn’t be throwing anything away.

We have new neighbors. Its two young Malay couples who (I assume) are renting the house right in front of mine. When my parents were just married, they also shared rent with 2 other young couples back in Miri. In fact, I grew up with one of their daughters so much so that we were considered as sisters.
Its one of my dreams to one day own my own house. Since I’m still unmarried, I absolutely would love staying in a studio apartment. All the conveniences and facilities like swimming pool, gym, sauna and security under one roof.
But once I have my own family, I would love to get a double story house with a huge compound because I grew up in houses like that and its very cozy and homely. Especially those like the ones built for expats where the children and pets can play in and I can host all my dinner parties and barbeques.
However, owning a house can be tricky, especially if the house is not new. The problem about getting a previously owned house is that there might be some problems with the previous owners like maybe someone forged a signature or perpahs there are some unpaid real estate taxes.
There is a way to protect yourself by going to a title insurance company. These title insurance companies will then process an insurance to protect against loss arising from problems connected to the title of your property.
According to wikipedia there are three different insurance a title company
can give which are for owners, lenders and construction loans. Never hurts to be safe than sorry right?
My dad is like most men. He likes to put things together and take things apart. You know, all that mechanical stuff, electronics, robotics - as long as it has moving parts, men will like it.
I remembered back when I was younger that our doorbell didn’t work. So one afternoon my dad went to the front gate of our house armed with a screw driver and decided to take it apart. The thing is, he never quite figured out how to put it all back so we never had a doorbell after that.
Then there was this time we had this leaky faucet. Water was dripping into the kitchen sink. So my dad, the “handyman’ took out the wrench and tried to tighten the handles. But he forgot to switch off the main water pipe so water was sprayed everywhere! Haha! I remembered that day there was so much havoc and screaming because the water just wouldn’t stop spouting out like a water fountain.
Someone had to go to the main water pipe and switch it off. And we were left standing in a flooded kitchen in soaking wet clothes. Mummy wasn’t too happy about it but at least my dad tried right? Perhaps he should go take Plumbing Courses before attempting something like that again.
I was watching Season 3 of Las Vegas and there’s this one episode titled “Big Ed De-Cline” where all of Ed’s money was stolen by identity thieves. (more…)
Airasia sometimes offers promotions for almost ridiculously cheap air tickets. Some time ago, I bought a return ticket from LCCT to Kota Kinabalu for only RM160 (including all their airport taxes and insurance).
The bad thing about that is that you have to be sitting in front of your PC from midnight of the day that they start their promotion and pray hard that you get cheap seats.
If only there was a better way, like calling through phone for example. Did you know that you can buy flights to USA by just calling up a travel consultant and then you can customize your travel according to your needs. How nice! ![]()
