Some updates before talking about Phuket:

I had a very scrumptious seafood dinner last night (Sunday night) with him. We were so hungry and ate kinda late - some time after 9pm - that we ordered lots to eat. We had 2 crabs cooked sweet and sour, big butter prawns, sizzling taufu and bamboo lala fried with chilli.

Pictures? None. Well, for one thing, we were so hungry that we were halfway thru before remembering to take photos and my phone also decided to hang on me and the few photos that I took disappeared. Oh well, you had to trust me that the food looked and tasted delish. Plus it was quite reasonable at less than RM100. Tenkiu for the dinner

Airasia sometimes offers promotions for almost ridiculously cheap air tickets. Some time ago, I bought a return ticket from LCCT to Kota Kinabalu for only RM160 (including all their airport taxes and insurance).

The bad thing about that is that you have to be sitting in front of your PC from midnight of the day that they start their promotion and pray hard that you get cheap seats.

If only there was a better way, like calling through phone for example. Did you know that you can buy flights to USA by just calling up a travel consultant and then you can customize your travel according to your needs. How nice!

(1) Blog 365

I joined this site http://blog365.ning.com/ on the 3rd of January. What is it about? I guess you could say that this is my new year resolution (tho I didn’t officially make any). Its a commitment to blog 365 days in 2008 - which is basically one post a day. So far I have been making good progress. There was a few days that I missed out in the beginning tho

Looking back at my previous posts made me realize that it was so enjoyable to read the stuff that I did, said, saw and talked about back then. This blog also kind of serves as my online organizer with important dates and events. I’m sure it’ll be nice one day to look back at 2008 and have something interesting to read about each day

(2) Biru 2.0 Theme

As you can see, I changed my theme. There was a slight kekecohan about this theme but its all settled now. If it was me, I would probably not like other ppl commenting non-related stuff about a theme which I worked hard to create.

I modified it a bit. I took off a lot of the sidebar items because I didnt like it to look cluttered. Especially the huge RSS button. Will replace it with something smaller later (if ever). I also created my own Single Page (single.php) because I wanted the navigation on the single page to show the title post of the previous and next post (if you don’t understand what I mean, click the title of one of my posts and look at the top part).

Anyway, kudos to neutronics for this theme. It has been fixed to be used in IE and Firefox. Oh, Hariz pon pakai theme nie

(3) Phuket Countdown

Since we’re talking about this new theme, I added a new widget in my side bar, right at the top. Its the countdown to my Phuket trip on the 31st of January till 3rd of February. Im going to be travelling with Pam and Aree. 3 days of fun in the sun with my girls…wheeeeeeee~~

Note to self: need to buy new swimsuit if possible

(4) Ad Free since 2008?

As you can see, this is currently an ad free blog. After that Adverlets problem last week and also the fact that I changed my theme, I have not added any codes. I’m currently dropping “Voogle” ads from my blog because there is no income from there.

There are currently 4 blog ads companies in Malaysia, the two newest being Grab My Ass Ads and Nufflets. The reason why I didn’t subscribe to both was because GMA can only add blogs starting with a www which is kinda weird. Might be a technical error but its a turnoff for me. Nufflets…don’t you have any other more original name? I have yet to hear positive feedback on it so didnt sign up. My adverlets income is currently stagnant at rm70 - i think so, havent logged in for ages - and it’s been at that level for months now. Likewise to Nuffnang.

So basically, I haven’t had any income coming in from the companies above. So far all my blogging income has been from writing posts. Perhaps other people have good good feedback from them but not from me. To each his own i guess.

Anyway, that’s not the point of my blog. The point of my blog is an outlet to express how I feel - whatever extra I make is just a bonus (and also a way to pay for my domain and hosting - since I get paid in USD to Paypal).

So what do you think of my blog being adfree?

I booked my tickets to Kota Kinabalu already! Yey! I even managed to get the RM6 tickets for both ways. So the total price including taxes and insurance comes up to RM165.

I’m going to KK for Mag’s wedding. Can you imagine? My schoolmate (who is the same age as me) is getting married next year. Wow! I’m so happy for her and Tim.

I called Mag & she said that accommodations are settled. The last time I was there, we did loads of clubbing and lepaking at the beach and eating seafood. Fun fun! So looking forward to a great holiday.

The next day we were up bright and early around 7.30am. Oh wait, let me rephrase that. I had to wake everyone up bright and early by yelling and shaking everyone. Goodness, you can’t believe how hard it is to wake some ppl up. Its like im yelling “Wake up! Wake Up!” then Tau…err…someone says “ok ok” then promptly starts snoring again. Haha!

We had a long day planned for today. We were going on a boat tour and snorkeling at 9am. After being suited up with life jackets (that was big enough to fit around our tummies), we hopped into the boat and was brought touring around the beach and lagoon. The snorkeling site was on a smaller island just off the shore so we were deposited there and planned to stay for around 3 hours.

I ditched the life jacket when I went into the water because it was such a hassle. I got natural floating ‘device’ ma….Haha! Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to see at the snorkeling site. The water was murky and the fishes were small and not that colourful or unique. Plus there was so many people and the boats keep cutting through to get to the beach. We just snapped a few photos then it started drizzling So we called the boat and got them to drop us at another beach which had white sandy beaches and bars alongside the beach.

We played around in the water - chasing each other, trying not to drown in the waves, and jumping off each other shoulders. It was fun. Pam instantly settled into a hammock underneath some trees and took a nap. The rest of us proceeded to bury Nik in the sand. Then we turned him into a transsexual mermaid. Then while i was lying down on the cool sand under the shade of the trees, they proceeded to bury me instead and I got turned into some macho man.

Our packed lunch was brought for us at the beach, so we sat at the bar at the side of the beach and had our nasi campur. Then after lunch, we had the bright idea to go on a banana boat. So Taufan, Arai, Aree, Nik, Ariff & I tong tong to ride the banana boat - RM15/person. It was totally fun, but the ride was a bit short - the duration of the ride that is

After that, Ariff, Nik and I took a walk down the beach towards this nice lagoon that Jef and Ariff went to earlier during the day. OMG it was sooooo gorgeous, with clear blue water and a (literally) WHITE sandy beach. We went crazy snapping photos, swimming, playing with water and skinny dipping. Haha! It was really great, we hung out there till 5pm-ish.

We finally started walking back at 5pm. Upon reaching we found everyone else deep in sleep, snoring away. Apparently they went back around 3pm and went straight to bed. When i took a shower, thats when I realized how tanned I was. I was chocolate red - due to the fact that I didnt reapply sunblock.

For dinner, we had this fantastic, fantastic BBQ Seafood FEAST. I mean like literally a feast. We had bbq fish, fish with chilli, chicken wings, sausages, fried meehoon, fried rice, stingray, crabs, cockles (kerang) and soup. My mouth still waters remembering it. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

After dinner, we watched the game on TV with the guys. Then Pam, Aree, Craig, Gladys, Arai & Ariff wanted to go to the bonfire at that bar at the side of the beach but Nik, Jef, Taufan & I wanted to sleep early so we split ways.

I just love travelling, one of the places that I would love to go to is Europe. My parents have been to Paris and London and they absolutely loved it there. Im sure it’ll be such fun! I particularly want to visit Paris, London, Berlin & Barcelona - because each have its special qualities that make Europe so unique.

I think that driving there would be better than having a tour because then you can have the fun of enjoying a road trip - but of course we must be prepared with a good map and a well-planned route. Plus, you can plan which sites you want to visit and for how long without being tied down to a tour schedule.

The picture above is a square in Barcelona, Spain. Look how quaint and laid back it is. I would love to have a hotel in Barcelona overlooking a square like that, where you can see people walking by or drinking coffee under umbrellas in outdoor cafes. Ahh…so relaxing.

This is Brandenburger Gate which was one of the main city gates in Berlin, Germany. The architecture is superb and to think that it stood tall since 1791. It took three years to build. Can you imagine? Imagine staying in one of the hotels in Berlin and waking up to splendid view of the Brandenburger Tor (gate in German) with the soft morning light behind it. Majestic!

Lyrics from Jamie Cullum’s “London Skies” speaks of the sunlight beneath the clouds looming over London. Though it might seem grey, its the perfect kind of weather to walk around the city because its not too hot and not too cold. I would love to stay in one of the hotels in London right in the middle of all the tourist attractions and walk or hitch a ride on the bus to visit those sites.

Ahh…Paris, the City of love. Im sooo inspired to visiting this city with a loved one after watching Paris je t’aime. Everything there is just so romantic. Imagine staying in the honeymoon suite in one of the best hotels in Paris and standing at the balcony, watching the sun go down and the lights begin to brighten while drinking a glass of champagne with your loved one. Awwwwww…….

Visiting all these places might just be a dream now, but i vow to myself that I will go one day
