Post Graduation Sickness

Posted by on July 28, 2008  |  1 Comment

I went to the clinic today since I’ve been having a bad sore throat and sexy voice since Saturday. My family and some friends have been laughing at my weird voice. Taufan asked if i screamed too much during my graduation. LOL!

Actually, its the combination of lack of sleep + heavy drinking at night. Today is much worse coz I can only whisper and when I swallow my saliva it hurts. Everything looks slightly swollen – especially the right jaw. Doctor said I have a pretty bad throat infection :( She then supplied me with medication for flu, fever, sore throat and also some lozenges and cough mixture

Oh, the family and I went to Cheras today to take my graduation photo with the family because my sister just got back from Thailand this morning. Can’t wait to see the final pics! I have to go down to Cyberjaya tomorrow to return my robe/gown.

One more thing, a new friend of mine, Hurley, just moved from vox to blogger so go over to his home and give him some lurve!

Socialspark for Mommy

Posted by on July 21, 2008  |  No Comments

I’ve always admired Mothers. How they can go from day to day doing a million things a span of 24 hours. A mother is the thread that holds the whole family together. This wonderful poem by Rosalyn R Smith sums it up really well:

A mother, a father, this woman’s job is never done. A cooker, a cleaner, trying and trying, tired and tired, waiting til this day is done.

A flower in the light, and a tear in the dark trying, trying and doing the best that she can do.

What this day will bring, she wish she had the key, only no one knows, cause a skirt she wears in the morning light and as the evening nears, a pair of trousers with a loving smile that layers and peels into a grim stern face holding on, trying, trying to do the best that she can do.

A mother, a father, a mother playing a father’s role, caught up in rising and raising her pride and her joy, trying, and trying to be the best that she can be while she struggles to do the best that she can do.

Traded-in for a better life without them, fathers who left no pride or joy behind because they could not do and be the best that they could be.

But, still this mother allows herself to rise so that she can raise her children the best she can.  A mother and a father that’s all she can be, trying, and trying to be the best that she can be so that her children can be the best that they can be.

Trying and trying, rising and rising and raising her children to be the best that they can be.

Nowadays, many woman who are stay-at-home moms are active on the internet participating in forums, online discussions and blogging. Its really heartwarming to read stories about their children’s day to day life and how they struggle with the joys of parenting. Some mommy bloggers have food blogs where they post up recipes of all the delicious meals, cakes and pastries they lovingly cook for their husband and children.

To all of you wonderful mommy bloggers out there, besides posting about your children and recipes, there is also a way to make money via SocialSpark. All it takes is a few minutes of your precious time online and no only can you be the homemaker of the family, but also generate some income. And all on your own time :)

Theme Change!

Posted by on June 12, 2008  |  No Comments

I kinda got annoyed with the fixed width of my previous theme Areia Azul which was smaller than 400px and I can’t change it. Plus it was looking a bit too cluttered. So I decided to change themes. It was surprisingly fast to change themes coz I didn’t change any elements of the sidebar so it was mostly copy paste.

I’m currently using Smashing Theme – a simple mainly white with orangey highlights – by DesignDisease. I’m a big fan of DesignDisease’s very colourful free themes such as Illicrimo with its various hues of blues and yellows, GossipCity with its starry pictures (I’ve used the previous two it in my blog before) and Dilecto with its oranges and swirls (but I didn’t like the width of the post content thats why I didnt use it).

Tell me what you think?

This year, as 25th September rolls by, I have no expectation, no plans for big-makan-makan-at-my-hse (like back in Miri), no food-and-water-balloon-fights-in-the-hall (like back in 2003), no being-thrown-into-the-dirty-stagnant-lake (which was our tradition back in Curtin Uni), no being-pelted-with-flour-eggs (which i used to do back in school), no picnics-and-bbq-at-the-beach (like i did in KK) and no long wishlists {like what erin did – babe im happy to be able to fulfill at least one item :D}.

I want this year to pass by quietly, in the comfort of close friends and family. Next year we will go all out. I promise :D because next year is most significant. 21 maaa… :P

I do however have a short wish list :
1. SURPRISE ME
2. Anything from this list

iPod Nano Specs
3. That see-thru-plastic-calendar-with-pockets thingy at roominteriorproducts
4. Cash la….(easiest prezzie)
