Upside & Downside of a girls nite out (3-4th Sept)

Anyway last weekeed i lepaked at stabaks, ikano with the 2 stooges at around 10
pm. Then around 11 sumthing they sent me back, i changed, then I went
meronggeng-ing to Planet Hollywood with Pam and Cass . The music was good and we
met a few interesting people. Took a shot of chivas+ice, and bout 4-5 glasses
dewars+coke (I lost count..hehe) courtesy of our new friends. Danced, sweated,
took photos and exchange phone numbers before leaving.

Pastu lepak kat Devi’s in Bangsar pastu got this group of malay guys sat at the
next table and were looking looking at us. Then one of them, the most decent
looking one, came over and had the audacity to invite himself to sit at our
table:

Weird but Friendly Guy (WBFG): hi can I sit? (then he terus dgn tidak malunya sat down)
WBFG : So where are u gals from? KL? (we all juz gave half-hearted nods) Went out?
Pam : From my house
WBFG : So where u gals staying?
Pam muttered Shah Alam, and Cass muttered Cyberjaya. I still kept ignoring him
WBFG : You girls are nice, at least u all layan my questions, not like some other girls who would juz ignore strangers (I guess he doesnt realize we were trying to ignore him too). Im not
trying to ayat u girls {yeah right!} just being friendly {sure *rolls eyes*}

Then org yg tgh boring melepak kat mont kiara itu call, so i ajak-ed him to join us. After i put down the phone,

Me (to Pam): My friend is coming
WBFG : Your friend? guy or gal?
Me : Guy
WBFG : Boyfriend?
Me : Haha! No lah!
WBFG : Yeah right. Anyway I better get going soon. Nice meeting you girls. If u want to do some facial or beauty stuff, my mom has a beauty salon at Hartamas {wtf is he promoting his mom’s beauty salon for?}. Here is my number, save it in ur phone…01…(at this point, 3 of us looked at each other then Pam and I looked at Cass and she had no choice but to save his number. LOL! Kasian plak she kena buli by us)

Takut pula him. LOL! Poke, ada org takut kat ko lah :P Not long after that, 2 mamat arab sat at the next table and tried to catch out attention.

Arab guys (AG) : Excuse me? Hello?
(I was ignoring him but Pam suddenly turned to face them coz she thought they wanted to ask/tell something important)

Pam : Yea?
AG : So where did u guys party today? Somewhere in bangsar?
Pam : Party? *buat muka blur* We were from my house.
AG : And what were u doing at your house?
Pam : Oh……studying
(At this point I tried to hold my laughter but kenot tahan so it came out like a false cough)
AG : Come on….you’ve got to be kidding

hank goodness at that time poke called and asked where are we, then I saw him just outside and we cepat-cepat moved table to sit outside. He was like confused at bit at our kelam-kabutness but after we were sitting, we told the whole story to him and he was laughing. Then he noticed, “How come everyone is staring at us ah?” to which I answered, “Because we are the only girls here.” Then he looked around and realized that it was true. I think the other guys were
looking daggers at the poke & his fren. LOL!

Then we talk talk then Pam & Cass went back around 4-5 am…not sure la..i wasnt really paying attention to the time. Then Max joined us and we lepaked there till 9 am after someone tertido a few times and someone else punya eyes already rolled up coz nak tido :P So far I just tahan but the moment i got back and my head touched the pillow, I slept till evening around 5-6 pm.

Upside : Got free drinks and met interesting people
Downside : Got harrassed twice at a mamak stall…I would expect it in a club…but at a mamak stall…adehh…

Starbucks & Pencuri & SMS Part 1

Posted by on September 2, 2005  |  No Comments

I went to starbucks to use the wireless yesterday and the guy behind the counter asked how i was doing and asked my name. After that he sang this malay song = 4U2C – “Fiona” and told the other waiters that I was a frequent customer. Usually I’d have to wait for the drinks at the counter, but he offered to send it :P

So obvious ahh i always go to starbucks IKANO? :P The starbucks One Utama New wing also recognize me but never talk. When my sister goes to Coffee Bean at OU, the waitress asks where her bf is because they often go together. LOL!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My dad picked me up from KJ and he got an sms from my youngest sis who had tuition that nite
Sis : My head pening. Can i stay at home and rest?
My dad didnt answer her sms, so 5 mins later he got another one
Sis : So do i go to tuition or not? I feel like want to muntah
Dad : U muntah first then we send u la
Sis : The world is like spinning. Later i fall down while walking down the stairs.
Dad : Spinning but can still sms well.
Sis : I sms with my eyes close
Dad : Wow u can sms without opening your eyes
At that point we were all cracking up with laughter in the car but eventually my sister got what she wanted – she skipped tuition
I stole a small expresso cup from my uni’s coffee bistro. Muaahahahahha!!! The coffee is so expensive and not so nice. I usually drink the tea, or teh tarik…which also costs around rm4 per glass.
Anyway, I had the breakfast set – camomile tea, 2 scones & butter+marmalade. Quite nice. But as I was halfway eating my second scone, there was a piece of green raffia string so I changed it for a new one – meaning that I got 2.5 scones. Hehe~!
There was this small cute expresso cup where they put the milk for my tea so I bungkus it and brought it home. So what? LKW is so rich. last time the old students used to steal the ash trys off the tables so they stopped providing it. hehe
Here’s a pic of my cute cup :P nice kan?
assignments done. Happy :D
Posted by on August 29, 2005  |  No Comments
i feel so relieved that all my work is done already. I had to pass up 4 assignments and do 1 presentation today and i managed to finish all of it on Sunday. My lecturers even puji-ed one of my papers (on racial profiling) and my presentation on video over IP.
Im happy and satisfied with my work. Not to mention, my class was cancelled so I took time to go down to KL and lepak at KLCC, Coffee bean where I’m typing this post now :)
Been so busy lately. On the 17th i had another choir presentation for the launching of the Merdeka month celebrations for the higher institution level. We sang the jalur gemilang song (and also another new song) – luckily we didnt hv to sing the tanggal 31 song. Bad thing is..that jalur gemilang song is still stuck in my head until now :(
A few weeks ago, this guy i just made friends with asked “is your nick online coconut ice?” and i was like “why?”. he said “u have a blog right?” and i was like “yeah :)”. Then some time after that, my classmate also said, “ur a blogger arent u?”. People actually recognize me from my lil pic on the corner with the half covered face.
Oh yeah, i finally got all the furniture in my room and rearranged it to a very nice position. I love my computer table from Ikea (it was on promotion, so it was quite cheap).
flying roti
Posted by on August 28, 2005  |  No Comments
I read about this from a friend’s blog. funny how insignificant news like this can make front page news in malaysia.
Roti canai tetap dibawa ke angkasa
KUANTAN 27 Ogos – Rancangan untuk membekalkan angkasawan negara dengan roti canai ketika berada di angkasa yang pernah mencetuskan kontroversi sebelum ini, akan diteruskan seperti dicadangkan.
Ketua Pengarah Agensi Angkasa Negara, Prof. Datuk Dr. Mazlan Othman berkata, angkasawan tempatan yang pertama kali ke angkasa perlu membawa identiti negara.
Beliau berkata, baru-baru ini, seorang angkasawan Jepun telah mengikuti satu misi ke angkasa dengan membawa makanan kegemaran negara itu sejenis mi sup, ramen.
“Ketika dia kembali minggu lepas, antara soalan yang ditanya Perdana Menteri negara itu ialah apakah rasa ramen di angkasa, justeru kita juga boleh bertanya apakah identiti kita apabila di angkasa lepas nanti,” katanya di sini hari ini.
Why not they bring up other food? Like nasi lemak or satay? I think asking bout the taste of the roti canai is a bit silly. come on! do u think that gravity affects taste?
if u bring up roti canai, u gotta bring up the kari or dhall…takkan nak makan roti kosong. Imagine trying to catch the bubbles of kari with the roti…lol!
Manic Monday
Posted by on August 15, 2005  |  No Comments
I attended 2 Forums about the Multimedia & Gaming industry in Malaysia instead of going for classes because the lecturers told us to attend.
- Forum One : The Electronic Games Industry: A Malaysian Story
- Forum Two : Multimedia Content in Malaysia: Visions for the Future
The first one was interesting, particularly the clips on Fung Wan online which they translated to BM = “Pedawan Sakti” – and even gave the CD for it. But the 2nd one was fantastic because they also showed clips of work that Malaysian graphic/multimedia designers/animators did for the international market like Nikelodean and movies.
Its a good monday – had no classes, a few ppl puji that i look nice (i redyed my hair), someone belanja me minum ice-blended and i feel great :) I hope its going to be a great week
Choir singing
Posted by on August 13, 2005  |  No Comments
Its been ages since I’ve been online. Been busy going to uni early mornings (8 am bus) for choir pratices and coming back by the 6pm bus. Meaning im out of the house by 7.30 am and back home around 8 pm – EVERYDAY :(
The new yahoo messenger (version 7) came out a few days ago and i didnt even know about it. Joe decided to stop publishing his posts and I just found out. Delinn’s bday just passed and I can only wish her “HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!”. I log into my old chat room and no one even remembered me. I feel so out of touch.
But actually, life without the internet isnt as bad as i expected. Apparently im not a hard-core addict like I thought I was. I did a lot of reading. Re-read Angels & Demons and also the Illustrated version of Da Vinci Code. Read Princess, Desert Royal & Daughters of Arabia by jean sasson (i think). Also read The Interior by Lisa See. I need to get new books.
I had a lot of fun last week. The PM came to our uni on Thursday so we were busy practising for Choir singing 3 songs. Then when the big day came, we got our makeup and hair done at Headlines – LKW’s Hair Design Academy – for free. The downside was that we had to wait for so long before actually singing. So we were all dead tired by the end of it. Good thing uni was closed the next day coz of the haze.
Pictures are available here. I look a bit weird with my hair done up and makeup. My classmate did a double take when he saw me..ahaha!!
Besarnye ***** itu!!
Posted by on August 5, 2005  |  1 Comment
The saying “good things come in small packages” doesnt always apply for every situation. In some cases, bigger is better…..don’t you agree?
Anyway, i had the good laugh the other day when peeking at some plastic bags my mom left on the table. I saw an enormous long thing and asked, what is that?!?
Its almost three times bigger than a McD Apple Pie
Back to school
Posted by on August 1, 2005  |  No Comments
Classes have started today far far away in Cyberjaya (bout 40 mins + 20 mins for jam). So I can go online and start blogging again. Yay! I miss my blog and all my blogging frens *huggles* and I was rotting out of boredom at home. During the holidays it was fun skodenging anak makcik and melepakkan diri @ Mont Kiara ngan poke, jin, max, pand dll yg terlibat (eh..they’re all guys)
I followed Erin and joined the LKW choir and made friends with some freshies. I even met a former uni mate from indonesia. We’re performing for some Merdeka Day Celebration. There are 3 songs, KeranaMu, a song dedicated to our Prime Minister, and another song. My next practice is on Wed morning, 9 am.
It’s the first day of my new semester in degree and so far I’ve had 2 classes. One of my lecturer is actually a Mirian like me. I have 5 subjects so on most days I start at 10 am and finish around 4 pm. This week lots of my classes are cancelled coz it’s the introductory week. There are tons of freshies in Uni, sometimes stopping me to ask where are certain classes or places. Hehe! Half of my class are new students, the rest did their foundation in LKW earlier. In my class of 30 students, only 3 are girls. Looks like this will be an interesting semester. Sadly I don’t have any lab or programming classes but its ok
16th July, 5.30 pm
Posted by on July 18, 2005  |  No Comments
I had an interesting time yesterday nite. A friend of mine came down from Kelantan and we went meronggeng-ing. Walked from Bkt Bintang to Bangkok Jazz-not to mention we got lost too. And it was raining cats and dogs so we got so wet and it was cold. Brr…that’s the last time I’m going to walk around in the pouring rain smack in the middle of KL. It was fun tho – walking in the rain I mean. Bangkok Jazz is a nice quiet place with the DJ playing soothing jazz songs, especially my favourite – Sway by Michael Bublè. My friend actually knows the DJ so we could request what songs we liked.
Well we were hoping for a quiet nite just to drink but there was this bunch of hinese guys at the next table who kept ‘yam seng’-ing so it was kinda noisy but still nice. Had 2-3 jugs of tiger between 3 of us. My fren kept insisting I should drink a “girlie drink” because beer is for MEN. So I had a kahlua+milk
(yummy and sweet) and vodka+ribena (not nice…tasted funny). Actually i was asking for absolute vodka kurant (which is berry infused vodka – very sweet smelling) but the lady got it wrong i guess. Oh well.
After that, we got sick of all that jazz and went to 7E and got more drinks – 4 tins each. My friend was pretty impressed by then. It was the first time we went drinking together. After we tipsy tipsy owedi, we went to sleep. I keep waking up in the middle of the night so I was pretty tired. Then at 11.30 am, we woke up, then went to have lunch. I had Garlic naan and tandoori chicken somewhere opposite Lowyat.
After that i went to KJ LRT station then went to Ikano by taxi. The taxi driver didnt kno where it was..so I had to show the way. Then he got a call on his hp and I heard him speak Sabah malay. So that explains why he doesnt kno the roads. So i asked him if he was from Sabah. Then I pasang my Sabah Malay and explained that I stayed in Sabah for 7 yrs before but Im Sarawakian. Then he said he was from Sepilok but his family is staying in Putatan. After that he gave me a discount on my taxi fare…less than a dollar difference but every cent is money la.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh yea, I checked my results and found out that I credited all my subjects. 1A, 2Bs and 2Cs. The Cs are business subjects, the A is Webtech. My parents are pleased. Yay! So next is my first year degree :D

Im now going back home (im in Ikano for almost 3 hours already) and take a MUCH NEEDED REST. My eyes are red from lack of sleep and I feel a bit dehydrated and pening coz Im tired. Ciou!
