Review : Prince Caspian

Posted by on May 17, 2008  |  4 Comments

The Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian starts of some 1300 years after the Golden Age of Narnia where the Narnians were prosperous. Telmarines invaded Narnia and is now controlled by the evil King Miraz, who took the throne from the rightful owner Prince Caspian.

This movie – adapted from the 2nd book ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ written by C.S. Lewis – was more entertaining then the first. I thought the first was kinda draggy but this second movie was a good blend of good storytelling, action filled sword fighting and heartwarming scenes. I won’t say that its the best movie I watched, but its not bad :)

Bring the family, but make sure your stupid kid doesn’t kick the back of the chair in front. We were sitting in cineleisure’s couple seat when this couple sat behind us with a small kid who was noisy and kept kicking both of our chairs. The noise I understand, but the kicking? WTF! I even asked you to please stop but soon after that she started kicking again.

Pangkor Trip – Day 2

Posted by on November 19, 2007  |  3 Comments

This is a long overdue continuation of Pangkor Trip – Day 1. If you haven’t read it, head over here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day we were up bright and early around 7.30am. Oh wait, let me rephrase that. I had to wake everyone up bright and early by yelling and shaking everyone. Goodness, you can’t believe how hard it is to wake some ppl up. Its like im yelling “Wake up! Wake Up!” then Tau…err…someone says “ok ok” then promptly starts snoring again. Haha!
We had a long day planned for today. We were going on a boat tour and snorkeling at 9am. After being suited up with life jackets (that was big enough to fit around our tummies), we hopped into the boat and was brought touring around the beach and lagoon. The snorkeling site was on a smaller island just off the shore so we were deposited there and planned to stay for around 3 hours.
I ditched the life jacket when I went into the water because it was such a hassle. I got natural floating ‘device’ ma….Haha! Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to see at the snorkeling site. The water was murky and the fishes were small and not that colourful or unique. Plus there was so many people and the boats keep cutting through to get to the beach. We just snapped a few photos then it started drizzling :( So we called the boat and got them to drop us at another beach which had white sandy beaches and bars alongside the beach.
We played around in the water – chasing each other, trying not to drown in the waves, and jumping off each other shoulders. It was fun. Pam instantly settled into a hammock underneath some trees and took a nap. The rest of us proceeded to bury Nik in the sand. Then we turned him into a transsexual mermaid. Then while i was lying down on the cool sand under the shade of the trees, they proceeded to bury me instead and I got turned into some macho man.
Our packed lunch was brought for us at the beach, so we sat at the bar at the side of the beach and had our nasi campur. Then after lunch, we had the bright idea to go on a banana boat. So Taufan, Arai, Aree, Nik, Ariff & I tong tong to ride the banana boat – RM15/person. It was totally fun, but the ride was a bit short – the duration of the ride that is :P
After that, Ariff, Nik and I took a walk down the beach towards this nice lagoon that Jef and Ariff went to earlier during the day. OMG it was sooooo gorgeous, with clear blue water and a (literally) WHITE sandy beach. We went crazy snapping photos, swimming, playing with water and skinny dipping. Haha! It was really great, we hung out there till 5pm-ish.
We finally started walking back at 5pm. Upon reaching we found everyone else deep in sleep, snoring away. Apparently they went back around 3pm and went straight to bed. When i took a shower, thats when I realized how tanned I was. I was chocolate red – due to the fact that I didnt reapply sunblock.
For dinner, we had this fantastic, fantastic BBQ Seafood FEAST. I mean like literally a feast. We had bbq fish, fish with chilli, chicken wings, sausages, fried meehoon, fried rice, stingray, crabs, cockles (kerang) and soup. My mouth still waters remembering it. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
After dinner, we watched the game on TV with the guys. Then Pam, Aree, Craig, Gladys, Arai & Ariff wanted to go to the bonfire at that bar at the side of the beach but Nik, Jef, Taufan & I wanted to sleep early so we split ways.
Day 3 (last one) coming up soon….
Be prepared for a series of long posts full of pictures. This is my third attempt to write this post coz my connection sucks and I got no autosave! boo hoo :(
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Everyone was excited and psyched up for this trip. It was going to be our first trip together as friends (+ one couple). We planned to go on Friday, most of us who had classes had to skip them because our bus was at 1.30pm and we didn’t want to take the ferry at night.

So Aree slept over the night before actually she only came at 4am after goin out drinking with friends coz Taufan was going to pick up at at 11am which he was late by 15-20 mins to go to Kelana Jaya. We met up with Pam who was pissed coz we were late and Jef at KJ then proceeded to go to Pasar Seni. Met up with Ariff & Azrai Lychee Arai who were actually just one train behind us. Then we walked to Puduraya. Yes walked thru Central Market and Petaling Street (I still think Masjid Jamek would hv been a nearer stop) and met up with Nik there.

Proceeded to look for our bus platform, loaded up on snacks, drinks and reading material then we were off.The trip there was rather uneventful. Everyone was sleeping in the bus at one point or another. It was cold, luckily I brought my sweater. It was my first time riding an outstation bus – we took the Transnational and tickets were about RM40 to-and-fro and it was very comfortable.

We reached Lumut in the evening – I forgot the exact name of the station, oh well. Its right next to the jetty so we walked to the jetty and got on the ferry. We decided to sit at the back in the open air area to enjoy the breeze and of course take photos :P Upon arriving at Pangkor Island, we took a taxi – which was actually a van painted pink to our resort – Purnama Beach Resort.

We were then brought to our rooms. We had 2 huge rooms, one for all the boys and their snoring orchestra and one for us four girls which didnt really work out that way in the end. We then took a shower and freshen up, lepak for a bit then proceeded to the room for a round of drinks – I brought tequila, tuak & JD, playing board/card games – Catan & Bang, buat maksiat and other forms of substance abusing.

We couldn’t stay up all night coz we had to go snorkeling at 9am and breakfast was at 8am so I think we slept around 2-ish. I was assigned to wake everyone up the next morning. Its going to be a hard task…
