How to get Invites/ Tickets to Arthur’s Day 2011 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia!

Yay! Its that time of the year again! Arthur’s Day is upon us!

If you have not heard of Arthur’s Day, seriously, where have you been? Arthur’s Day started off in 2009 as a music event to celebrate 250th anniversary of the Guinness brewing company. The Arthur’s Day celebrations will begin in Dublin, Ireland at exactly 17:59 on 22 September 2011. The concert in Kuala Lumpur will close the 24 hour global Arthur’s Day celebration worldwide. More than 15,000 people are expected to attend the concert this year.

In 2009, we had Black Eyed Peas came to perform and that party was controversial (due to Muslims being forbidden to attend). Last year in 2010, we had international and local acts like Timbaland Sean Kingston, Flo Rida, Colby O Donis, Pop Shuvit, Thaitanium, Mizz Nina & DJ Fuzz.

This year, be entertained by the “Dynamite” who might “Break Your Heart” – TAIO CRUZ!

Along with Local acts – Mizz Nina, SonaOne, Joe Flizzow, Take-T, Dandee, Soler & DJ Skeletor – Taio Cruz will “take  you higher” on 23 September 2011 at Speed City KL @ Selangor Turf Club. Party starts at 7pm onwards and the dress code is Black Party Chic!

Last year, you had to pay something like RM98 to RM350 to get to party! This year, tickets are COMPLETELY FREE! The only catch is, you would have to look for those exclusive invites!

Option 1: Guinness Malaysia Facebook Page

2. Check out their Wall posts for ways on how to win it. It could be answering a question, or emailing a photo.

Option 2 : Radio Stations

1. Starting 12 – 21 September 2011, fans can win exclusive invites to the Arthur’s Day concert featuring Taio Cruz from the following stations.
2. Hitz.FM, MixFM, MY FM and THR Raaga will run On-air and online Contests throughout this period for fans to get their hands on these money-cant-buy invites! So tune in and log on to win invites for you and your friends to the EPIC celebration of the year!

Option 3 : Rock Corner and Speedy Video

Gangguan Bekalan Air Puspel Syabas–Jun 2011

Puspel Syabas put up a Note on their Facebook page regarding water interruptions. The annoying part is, it’s a Profile instead of a Page so the person behind it has to approve you before you can see the Notes section. Quite a pain.

PSA : Road Closure in Kuala Lumpur for Jay Chou / Nicholas Tse movie “Against War” filming

Got this from April. Not sure how accurate the news is but its best to avoid these roads if you can help it as a new action movie titled “Against War” starring Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse is currently filming all around KL until the end of this month.

Directed by Dante Lim, the movie revolves around two brothers, played by Chou and Tse, investigating an international criminal case related to a deadly virus. Chinese actress Bai Bing plays a damsel-in-distress character whom the duo have to rescue. [Source]

P/s: Wonder if there will be a lot of people hanging around hoping for their 2 seconds of fame? :P

Malaysia (Cuti!) Public Holidays 2011

It’s the end of the year, have you guys planned your leave yet? Looking at the holidays some suggested dates to take leave are :

• 31 Jan (Mon) & 2 Feb (Wed) to get 1 week off (for KL)
• 14 Jan & 16 May (Mon) to get a long, 4-day weekend

Google Analytics Master Class (GAMC) Kuala Lumpur + Slides

The good people over in Google SEA decided to hold the first (I think) Google Analytics Master Class in KL last weekend. It was held in Hilton Hotel KL and the best part, it was FREE! All you had to do was register yourself and they will email you if you got the invites. I bet they didn’t expect the overwhelming response though.

The GAMC consists of a couple of speakers who gave short 10 minutes (or so) talks. Some were from Google, explaining the features in GA and other related tools. Others were from various businesses that utilizes GA in their business.

Confirmed : Beyonce’s Kuala Lumpur Concert has been POSTPONED not cancelled

I wrote about earlier rumours but now its officially confirmed that Beyonce’s concert this 25th October 2009 has been POSTPONED to a future date. Read the official statement from Marctesia, the co-organizers of the event.

Kuala Lumpur, 20 October 2009 – The Organisers regret to inform you that Beyonce “I am.” concert originally scheduled on Sunday, 25 October 2009 at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur has been postponed to a future date, to be announced shortly.
The official postponement press statement by Beyonce’s Artiste Management, Music World will be released by this week. The postponement is solely decision of the Artiste and has nothing to do with other external reasons.

The Organisers sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. In this case, Twestival KL was run by a small organizing committee comprising of @Ling_chan @davidlian @Suanie @radianceleong @nigelais @Eevon @nikicheong and all proceeds were to be given to Destiny Starting Point, a home for delinquent youths in Klang to turn their life around.

I reached Mist Club Bangsar at around 7.10-7.15pm since it wasn’t very jammed, surprisingly. Got awesome parking in the front. Hehe! Walked in and saw the 1901 Hotdogs booth and some cupcakes frm Cupcake Chic. Was too stuffed to eat tho.

Every girl should have a wraparound dress in their cupboard. I just picked up mine from the tailors the other day (well Gladys picked it up for me from Kota Kemuning). Its really hard to find plus size dresses even though I already tried looking in many shops in Kuala Lumpur so I usually tailor mine. Pictures as promised :D

Somehow I couldn’t get a nice shot but rest assured its really really nice :D Costs about RM80 for the workmanship, which i find rather reasonable considering I asked her to finish it fast. The materials not sure coz mom bought it. I did it in Kota Kemuning, Selangor.
