As you know, Hitz.FM in collaboration with Random Alphabets and United Colours of Malaysia decided to host a freeze in conjunction with World Earth Day. Participants were required to freeze in positions that created awareness about the state of our earth today such as pollution, etc etc. You can read more about it in my previous post here.

These are the videos from the event:

Synopsis : Two determined students at a West Coast University, Arian and Ernest, follow the inspiration of their idealistic professor, Dr. Malley (Robert Redford), and attempt to do something important with their lives. But when the two make the bold decision to join the battle in Afghanistan, Malley is both moved and distraught. Now, as Arian and Ernest fight for survival in the field, they become the string that binds together two disparate stories on opposite sides of America. In California, an anguished Dr. Malley attempts to reach a privileged but disaffected student, who is the very opposite of Arian and Ernest. Meanwhile, in Washington D.C. the charismatic Presidential hopeful, Senator Jasper Irving (Tom Cruise), is about to give a bombshell story to a probing TV journalist (Meryl Streep) that may affect Arian and Ernest’s fates. As arguments, memories and bullets fly, the three stories are woven ever more tightly together, revealing how each of these Americans has a profound impact on each other–and the world.

I found this movie to be such an eyeopener. At first it appears to be three separate stories but as the movie progresses, it shows how interlinked the stories are. Its essentially a political drama, with Senators trying to convince journalists about their ‘big plan to save the world’, journalists who oppose and question the actions of the senators and the general public – how they feel about the situation and what do they do about it.

Loads of talking and debating in this movie. Hardly any action scenes so most some will find it boring – to be sure. Go if you’re interested in political dramas and keep abreast of the political issues. It centers around Americans and the war in Afghanistan.

“If you don’t stand for something, you might fall for anything” – Anything that the media, govn or people feed you. Profound words which are shown and explained in this movie.
