I don’t talk politics. Here’s why.
My opinions (shallow and ignorant as they are) below: 1) Being rational – I think people can’t talk rationally about subjects like politics and religion. I can never have a point of view that differs yours. eg: My choice to NOT discuss politics makes me "stupid, ignorant, unpatriotic, etc" 2) Couch activism – Often we complain, and discuss things the state of the nation while sitting comfortably on our couches in our cozy homes. Or, another (simpler) example, we talk about how the less fortunate are so "kesian" but we don’t lift a finger to help, get on the ground, talk to them about it. Its much easier to be…

Changing eating habits
I talked a bit about changing my life – especially my eating habits – in the previous post. Thought I’d update people about this “sort of” diet I’m doing. I call it sort of because I want it to be less rigid so much so that it’ll feel like a chore. Making a Life Change
Just a short note today. I’ve actually been in that out-of-sorts mood lately. To be honest I just feel utterly bored. I’ve eaten everything I wanted to eat, I’ve been trying to travel at least once in 4 months – went to Singapore and Phuket in March and planning a trip in Sept with possible short roadtrips in between. I think lack of interest, constant self-abusing lack of sleep, increased alcohol intake and long hours are getting to me. A friend has also been pushing me to consider picking up a hobby or at least go to the gym to lose some weight. I guess he has a point and…

List of 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die
I recently found out about this list of “Books You Must Read” after GeekSugar (a woman-centric tech site I LOVE) wrote about this new app to track the 1001 books. The app is $2 but I’m a cheapskate so I found this list over in booklit. The list is taken from a book entitled 1,001 Books You Must Read Before You Die (Buy from Amazon: UK | US). Its product description says : They’re called the classics for good reason. Whether they’re a work of wacky imagination, a piercing insight into social and cultural traditions at the time of writing, or simply a fantastically absorbing story, all the books featured…

In another five years…
The girls and I got together over the weekend to have a pre-Christmas / pre-engagement party for Fifi. It was a fun dinner and after our gift exchange/Secret Santa, she decided that we write down what we hope to see in 5 years in ourselves. Similar to a time capsule thing. I thought it was appropriate it being nearing the end of 2010 to also repost it here. So this is what I wrote A 31 year old me will be: in a serious relationship having a successful career Have travelled to 5 continents ;)
