Clarins Power to Try Workshop

First of all, thanks so much to Clarins and Miu of Plusizekitten for organizing this workshop. It was held at Amoda near Bukit Bintang. Well I misread the map that Miu posted, thinking that the red building is Amoda but apparently its the other side. So I was a bit late. Heh, sorry!

*pics are all courtesy of Miu. I didn’t bring a camera. Yea i know, what kinda blogger doesn’t bring a camera for events right? But my camera batt died on me :(*

Clarins headquarters is very inviting and so fresh. I really like how they took care of all the participants and even providing refreshments – chocolates, chrysanthemum tea, fruit tarts, tuna croissants, etc.

The workshop area is also very nice, slightly bigger would be better so that we can mingle around comfortably. Ample mirrors and product was provided to everyone. Some people came really prepared with no makeup and even hairbands to tie back their hair. Well it was my first time at a skincare workshop.

This was the box of products available for our use. First I used the Gentle Eye makeup remover to remove my makeup. Then I used the Cleansing Milk with Alpine Herbs (for Normal/Dry Skin). Did you know there’s a proper way to wash your face? And that is from the middle of your forehead and ur nose outwards to your cheeks and chin. Clarins also taught us how to use our palms to create a ‘suction’ affect to help draw out the impurities.

Then we wiped our faces with Toning Lotion with Iris (Combination or Oily Skin). You must apply toner every time your skin comes in contact with water because our tap water is ‘hard water’ and the toner will neutralize the pH.

Then we used the Gentle Face Peeling which has a texture like a mud mask which dries up and you rub it off, peeling all the dead cells. I was pretty surprise to find out that my skin really looks so clean and fairer after the peeling. Everyone else had the same effect as well. The peeling should be done only one or maximum twice a week.

Then we used the masks. I used the Pure and Radiant Mask to draw out impurities. Some of the girls on my table used the Whitening mask (sorry forgot the name) and others used the Thirst Quenching Hydra-Care one. The HydraCare one in special because you can also put it on your lips. Also, it will disappear especially if your skin is particularly dry.

Then we put on the Eye Contour Gel by rubbing it on our finger tips and patting our whole eyes in a suction motion to stimulate the err bloodflow i think? Sorry i forgot. hehe!

After that I used the Hydra Quench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase and Clarins Hero Product – the Shaping Facial Lift. This should be applied with a set of massages to encourage the lifting of your face especially the eyes, cheeks and chin. I also used their Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm. Pretty averaged this one.

Then we put on the moisturizer – I forgot which one I chose – and the UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection SPF40 PA++ (tinted).

Clarins was also very nice to give all of us participants a Goodie Bag filled with:
  • 50% off any facial at Clarins
  • Sample sachet of HydraQuench Cream Mask
  • Sample tube of HydraQuench Smoothing Gel
  • Sample tube of Shaping Facial Lift **HERO PRODUCT**
  • A CD with a writeup about Clarins
  • Four samples of new shades from their Joli Rouge lipsticks
  • Two more samples of Clarins skincare of our choice (except Eye care) to be picked up later (in about 3 wks or so)

Miu asked us to give a quick review on what we thought of the workshop

Learning – I learned so much during this workshop. Apparently my, rub-product-on-hands-then-wipe-all-over-face has been wrong all this while. hehe!

Service/Hospitality – Awesome. All the Clarins Beauty Consultants were so helpful and also gave suggestions based on our skin type

Venue/Time – The venue and time was good for me. Convenient coz there’s parking in the basement downstairs

Food – I didn’t have the food. But they look yummy :D

Goodie Bag – I’m quite happy with the goodie bag. Only one thing tho, I’m not too sure what to do with the CD because it seems to be just a write up of their company and my post is already too long to stuff more info inside.

GWP/Promotions – I don’t know what’s GWP. Sorry -_-” If the promotions is referring to the 50% voucher, then I think its good

Suggestions/Comments – Maybe a slightly bigger space and also a longer session. Seems like we couldn’t try so many products. Or maybe I’m just greedy. Also a short get to know you session in the beginning would be nice because most of us only know each other online, or some not at all.

Conclusion :  All in all I think its great that we get to have a ‘girlie’ event and try out skincare and makeup and also get taught techniques and tips. Thanks again to Miu for the pictures and the invites. And of course to Clarins for the workshop :D
