Happy Deepavali from Obama – President Barack Obama bowing with Hindu Priest Sri Narayanachar Digalakote in the East Room of the White House in Washington on Wednesday after lighting an oil lamp in observation of Deepavali, a holiday celebrated throughout the world. Obama became the first US President to personally take part in a White House ceremony for the festival of lights, lighting a ‘diya’ oil lamp.
