    Review : P1 ToGo Mifi Modem MX230

This is the third post in a 3 part review series of the P1 Mifi Modem MX230. You can read my previous posts“P1 ToGo plan with MX230” and “Review : P1 MiFi on the go!”. — I’m actually quite sad to be ending my review and giving back the MiFi modem. Review : P1 MiFi on the go!

I mentioned in a previous post that I got a review unit of the P1 MiFi MX230. After plugging it in to charge (it comes precharged in the box but not to full battery capacity) I tested it while out and about in Selangor and KL. There’s only one small button on the device and one microUSB port with a cover. I must comment that I like that it has a cover. Without the covering over the ports, the ports then to get dusty after a while and its almost near impossible to clean. So yes, the idea of a cover is very smart. The MX230 comes with only one…

Malaysian Twitter Users put Rais Yatim on Trending topics #yorais

“Malaysians, especially Muslims, must avoid being totally immersed in the internet culture, especially Facebook and Twitter, said Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim. He added that facilities like internet could not be accepted wholly because it was a form of business introduced by the West and “Malaysians were just users.” Yes, all this coming from the Info Comm minister of Malaysia in a local newspaper The Star. Read the full article here. As can be expected, the Msian Twitter-ers are not happy and came up with a hashtag #yorais that talks about how old, ancient and backward thinking he is. And the best part, it made…

P1 W1max ‘Wiggy’ USB Modem Preview

P1 has been the forefront of providing wireless internet access in Malaysia. They first came out with a wireless modem for the desktop – a (roughly) 5x5x2 inch black modem. Noami from P1 (packet One) kindly invited a few bloggers for a preview of the new ‘Wiggy’ USB Modem – two days ahead of the official (invite only) media launch tomorrow (Thursday, 9 Apr) at Upstairs, The Loft.   It started around 8.10pm with firstly a short speech by the CEO of P1 W1Max, Mr Michael Lai, who said “if you have problems, don’t hesitate to whack us”. LOL! Then by the tech guy – sorry I forgot your name…
